  When searching for a spot for our retreat, the mission was to find an expansive property which could accommodate our group’s size, while at the same time exude elegance, cleanliness, and a place for relaxation. This breath-taking lakefront property exceeded all of our expectations! We knew we came to the right place when the winding driveway allowed all of us to park our cars without any hassles. Then upon entering what looked like a castle, all of us were in awe as we looked at the beautifully decorated rooms, unending spiral staircase, and what would be our favorite gathering spot…the state of the art kitchen! Our entire party was able to sleep comfortably in the beds and cots that were provided. The house was so spacious that we were able to gather on the main level or in the Master Suite for whole group socialization; however we also enjoyed being able to retreat to our own designated spaces when we wanted to read, watch television, or just relax. The furniture, accent pieces, and how the windows opened up to the lake, all added to the elegance and beautiful atmosphere of the house. Every element of the property was thoroughly cleaned and for the few days we were there we felt comfortable enough to call this place our “home away from home”. I would definitely love to visit again and would recommend this place to anyone who doesn’t mind living like a king or queen for a few days!

  I secured Chateau Lanier for a Women's Retreat and it was the best decision of my life. I had initially booked for May 2012 and had to reschedule for April 2013. The owner was accommodating and work with me to reschedule. The day of the Retreat, he had the home immaculate and prepared for our arrival. The home was spacious and inviting! My guests was so impressed with the home and all of the amenities and upgrades. There was plenty of space and bathrooms for 18 women to move around and enjoy themselves. You can get lost in this home. The view of the lake from the home is impressive and the proximity to the lake is perfect. I would recommend this home as I had a great experience.

  What a stay! We recently had a group of 23 stay at the Chateau Lanier, and had an amazing time. The view: beautiful! The house: beautiful! Furnishings and linens: beautiful and luxurious. Plenty of things to do at Chateau Lanier, and lots of space to do it. Our large group could spread out and we never felt as if we were on top of each other. So many great restaurants and shopping are just short drives away. Great location! Thank you Harold for letting us stay in your home and thank you for the memories that will last a lifetime.

  We had a great time over New Year's at Chateau Lanier. The house was very large, was well equipped, and everything was in working order. The rooms are large, spread out, and with the layout this house is the perfect place for multiple families to visit and enjoy. The amenities were better than expected. We would recommend this house to anyone considering renting a house on Lake Lanier, especially if multiple families or a very large family is involved.

  We recently had a fantastic stay at Chateau Lanier. This really is a great place. We especially enjoyed the open floor plan which is tastefully decorated. Truly a top notch home. The wrought iron entry gate and stairways were quite unique and beautiful. Really loved the gourmet kitchen which was exceptional and well stocked. The views and access of the lake were perfect! We are looking forward to our next stay.

  My family stayed at this beautiful home over the Thanksgiving holiday. It truly exceeded our expectations! Harold was wonderful to work with. He met us at the house and showed us everything we needed to know about the house and the area. The special basket filled with goodies and wine was a nice surprise. The kitchen was beautiful and very well equipped. All the beds were comfy and the decor was tasteful. The views are amazing! We rented a pontoon boat and took the whole family out several times a day. The Lake is just breathtaking!!! Highly recommend this house and the owners were a delight to work with!

  My Family (yes all 16 of us) recently stayed at this property for a long weekend in October. The house was absolutely majestic! Harold met us at the property at our exact scheduled time & gave us early arrivals a tour of the Mansion..I have traveled extensively and stayed in many 5 star Resorts..This Property is a 6 Star..There was ample room for everyone to sleep & get ready for my Nieces Big Day at Lake Lanier..The views off the Balconys were amazing as we sipped our coffee on the patio and watched the sun come up..Cooking for 16 is not an easy task but the size of the Kitchen allowed us all to pitch in and help and sit in the dinning & living room to converse over our down time..I can't forget to mention that on our first nite in the house we had a Family Tournament of Ping Pong & Foos Ball..What a great place for Kids ( our youngest was 19) & Grown Up Kids (Adults & Retirees) to Relax and Enjoy! I would highly suggest this property for any activites you have planned in the Atlanta area..From Weddings, Vacations, Family Reunions or just a quiet get away for the weekend! We Will Be Back!!!   We recently had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chateau Lanier. This home is really a special place. The owners have gone out of their way to assure that their guests have it all, and that is exactly how we felt. The two kitchens were better stocked that even my own kitchen at home. There was the refrigerator, the wine cooler, the double oven, the toaster, the toaster oven, the blender, the milkshake maker, three coffee makers, a comercial cook top... I could go on and that was just one of the kitchens!! The home is huge and at first I felt like I needed a map to just navigate inside the place. Each of the bedrooms had their own fun motif and were all quite spacious. The beds themselves were very comfortable. Linnens were high quality with plenty of everything. It was great having all the different living spaces such as the two game rooms, the two family rooms, and the two separate porches over looking the pool and the lake. Different members of our group could gather and do their own thing without disturbing one and other. One very important thing for us was that our elderly family members be able to get down to the lake. Fortuantely the walk to the lake was a gradually sloping path that all of us could negotiate without any difficulty. It was great seeing my elderly parents fishing off the dock. Just writing this review makes me want to go back there right now. My husband is promising me next year!! :-)

  Our family recently had a wonderful stay at Chateau Lanier. I must say this really is an incredible estate. Harold and Tina keep this place in immaculate condition. The furnishings and artwork are top notch. We had been impressed with the photos we saw on VRBO, but they really do not do the place justice. The views of Lake Lanier from the home are absolutely wonderful. Much of our time was spent just relaxing outside sipping our beverage of choice, and taking in the great scenery. We also enjoyed the fishing right off the private dock. But our stay at Chateau Lanier ended much too soon. After feeling so pampered there, we just did not want to leave. So we will definitely be back soon!! Thanks again Harold and Tina!!

  Our family of 14 arrived at Chateau Lanier for a 1 week stay in August and we were delighted with our choice of vacation homes. The home was spacious, clean and fully stocked with dishes, coffee makers, bath towels and everything that we needed.. There was even pool toys available for us to use. The walk to the lake was a little steep, but our 87 year old mother made the walk 4 times and said that "it was not so hard". We appreciate the owners prompt return of phone calls and their attention to detail!!! Thank you so much for making our summer family gathering a marvelous experience.

  We rented Harold and Tina's home for a getaway with friends and none of us wanted to leave. We were first greeted by Harold and he gave us a tour of the home. Everything is in pristine condition! The home is so beautiful that the pictures don't do it justice. Every bit of the home is gorgeous and it's so comfortable. From the comfy beds to the amount of space, you can't go wrong relaxing in this home. No matter what bedroom you are in, you can't hear a peep. We all felt like we were at home with the comfort that Harold and Tina have made sure their home provides. Thank you for a wonderful getaway!

  Our family spent Christmas at Chateau Lanier and the home was everything the listing said it would be and more. Our group consisted of 10 adults, 3 teens and 5 children. The house is so well stocked for large groups that we never ran out of linens or serving ware. The beds are very comfortable with high qaulity linens and stylish comforters/quilts. The photos of the listing accurately reflect the properties appearance and amenities. The gourmet kitchen is beautiful and easy to prepare meals in. They have included every kitchen gadget you could ever need, I even found a citrus zester. The property was immaculate and very well cared for. The bathrooms were spotless. The children and adults enjoyed the ping pong table, foosball table and card table. It was a little cold during our visit so we remained indoors most of the time which wasn't a problem due to the size of the house and spacious seating areas and indoor activities. The owners, Harold and Tina, are so easy to communicate with and the rental process was very easy and efficient. They arranged to have a decorated Christmas Tree in the living room and also had many other Christmas decorations throughout the house that made our stay that much more festive. We would recommend this property to our friends and family without hesitation. Gainesville is a nice town with a well stocked Publix and a nice movie theatre. We also enjoyed the outlet mall 15 min. away. We only dined out one time at Mellow Mushroon and enjoyed their gluten free pizza. Thank you Harold and Tina for letting us rent your beautiful lake home.

  Wow! What a beautiful house!! Our Dragon Boat team drove from Tampa, FL to Gainesville for the annual Dragon Boat race on Lake Lanier. This house was perfect for our entire team!! There was plenty of space and lots of room for everyone to enjoy. The view from the balcony looking at the lake is spectacular! The only complaint that we had was that we had to leave!! We are already looking forward to staying here again next year for the race.

  There are few situations in life where one's expectations are exceeded, but this vacation rental experience in Gainesville, GA meets that description. When searching for a place where our dragon boat team could stay together while competing at the nearby Olympic Rowing venue, Chateau Lanier looked like a perfect option for us to consider. Upon arrival,the team was tempted to cancel the race and simply stay at the house! I lost track of the number of times our group said "OMG" during the welcome tour provided by the owner. Each of the 15 adults who stayed in the house indicated they would choose the layout and decor for their "dream house." Our only challenge was which of the two gourmet kitchens to cook in and how to round everyone up when it was time to leave. (You can literally get lost in this house!) This home is perfect for both relaxing and fellowship and it provides plenty of room for a large group to spread out an enjoy privacy, when desired. We had four "gatherings" going on simultaneously and none of them could overhear the other! One of the pleasant surprises to our group and an unusual benefit of this particular home was that we were in a quiet neighborhood while staying there, but we were VERY close to restaurants, convenience stores and a well-stocked Publix. If someone forgot something, we could be at a store to purchase the item within five minutes. The home owners are two of the friendliest professionals we have encountered in years and made the process of renting from them an absolute pleasure. We were provided an informational packet that answered all of our initial questions and they were quick to respond to specific questions as our arrival date neared. We got the distinct impression that they would quickly resolve any issues while were there, but we needed nothing. I have already been contacted by three co-workers who heard the rave reviews about our rental experience and now want contact information so that they can book a family vacation. Our team is already planning to return to Lake Lanier next year ... so that we can stay in this house! 15 guests in our party are now recommending this vacation rental to their friends and co-workers. I can guarantee that YOUR family or group will consider you a rock star if you select this home for your next trip!

  This was a beautiful house with plenty of beds for our extended family vacation. We had three families and a couple of extras and felt we had plenty of space for everyone. I like the two large living areas on the middle and bottom floor. Having both a pool and a dock was great as we would get tired of boating and then jump in the pool for a game of beach ball volleyball. The owners were wonderful to us and very helpful in all areas. Gainsville is a surprisinging quiet community with fun things to do if you look. I would recommend The Oaks miniature golf on Whiting Road and the laser tag (in the bowling alley. Best mini golf course and laser tag we have ever experienced (and we like to do both when on vacation). Our kids range from 10 to 24 and they all enjoyed the week. One other thing, it is nice that this house is just north of Atlanta. You can go into the city for a baseball game, Six Flags, or any of the things the city has to offer.

  We had a wonderful time staying at your home. It was just a blast. The wine and snacks upon our arrival were a very thoughtful surprise. You have such a beautiful home. Overall I would describe our experience as " A GREAT TIME."

  Our family recently had the most wonderful vacation at this really spectacular home. We arrived and had a personal tour from the owners themselves. Although the photos on VRBO let us know we were staying in a very nice place, we were still amazed at this exquisite home. We can say without hesitation that this is the finest home we have ever stayed in. The owners Harold and Tina went out of their way to make our time special. They surprised us with a gift basket of wine, fruit, and other goodies. We found the home to be clean and spotless. The kitchens were extremely well stocked and everything seemed to be brand new. The decor can only be described as WOW! Every room was so tastefully done. We loved just sitting on the porch and taking in the great views of the lake. Our whole family loved boating on Lake Lanier. This is a huge lake with great areas for skiing, tubing, and fishing. Make sure you check out "Skogies" an excellent restaurant on the lake just 5 minutes from the home. On top of all this it was great to have the private pool to enjoy to ourselves. We will definitely be back. Thanks Harold and Tina for a great vacation!
