This lovingly renovated vintage 1930's beach house, @ 10 West Oxford Street, has all the quaint charm you'd expect and the modern conveniences that make being here easy. The house is located on a quiet residential street making it easy to relax in the hammock or rocking chairs on the wraparound front porch and enjoy the ocean breezes.
It's a short stroll to the white sands and pristine, clear blue ocean. Only half a block away is Banks Channel and calmer waters that are perfect for kayaking and swimming.
Easy walking distance to so many conveniences make your car almost superfluous: Robert's Grocery (yummy fried chicken and chicken salad and some of the best beef around), Cafe del Mar (coffee shop with free wifi), Kohl's (frozen custard, the Trolley Stop (voted best hotdog in NC by Our State Magazine), Tower 7 Baja Mexican Grill (best Mexican), Vito's Pizza, South Beach Grill (delicious fresh seafood and indoor/outdoor dining). Also try Neptune for a wonderful breakfast.
Also on the island, a quick drive or a longer walk away, are more restaurants. The Oceanic (casual) is the only place on the beach with a beautiful, panoramic view of the ocean. The Dockside, Bridge Tender, Airlie Seafood Company and Blue Water Grill all overlook the marina and Intracoastal waterway. Jerry's (fine dining) is just over the drawbridge. And if you'd prefer to cook, Mott's Seafood has a great array of fresh seafood.
The Causeway Cafe and Sweet and Savory are all wonderful places for breakfast.
The fascinating Wrightsville Beach Museum is housed in two historic beach cottages located on Harbour Island. The ever popular Loop is a 2.4 mile scenic paved walking/jogging trail that surrounds much of Harbour Island. The Loop encircles The Museum as well as tennis and basketball courts and the recylcling center.
Just off the island is beautiful Airlie Gardens created in 1901. You'll find year round seasonal plantings, and the magnificant 462 year old Airlie Oak and the unique and magical Bottle House. Mayfaire Town Center (on Military Cutoff) is a shopper's paradise. There are also restaurants of all kinds and a 16 screen cinema there.
Historic downtown Wilmington and the restored and revitalized Riverwalk are always fascinating, especially for history buffs and afficionados of architecture.

Why Wrightsville Beach: My grandparents built their first house on Wrightsville Beach in 1928. Wrightsville has felt like home for a long time. Our current house has been in the family for 20 years. . Only recently did we decide to share it with others who may or may not be familiar with this wonderful place.
The Unique Benefits at this House: All our guests tell us that they love our porch. There is always a breeze and you can log many hours rocking and talking and people watching or napping in the hammock!
