Our first stay in Hawaii and wanting to see the big waves of the North Shore, this was the perfect place to stay with the Beach below our fourth floor window. The view of the ocean from our window was amazing. We saw whales spouting in the distance, turtles and even a seal on the shore line with great pictures to prove to our friends and family that we actually were within the 10 ft allowed distance to these amazing creatures. The location, layout and cleanliness of the condo was great along with friendly and helpful neighbors. We rented a car and was within driving distance of all attractions one would want to attend. We especially enjoyed the Wialuia Farmers Market, Pearl Harbor, Polynesian Cultural Center, Hannanama Bay, the flea market at Aloha Stadium, Diamond Head , and the many beach parks along the coasts. We were sorry that we were delayed a day secondary to flight scheduling changes beyond our control. Looking forward to a possible return visit someday.Did you find this review helpful? It was so close to the beach that we could even sit in our room if we wished and watch the waves. Many turtles like to swim in the waters close by, so that was a treat! The property was very clean and neat and equipt with all that we needed. The owner and manager were great to work with and gave us many tips on things to see and do in the area! The condo is great. The virtual lanai was perfect. It allowed us to have the floor to ceiling slider open anytime we were in the condo. The trade winds were heavenly. RENTAL AGREEMENT Aloha We look forward to having you as a guest! Please review this Rental Agreement ("Agreement") in its entirety. It will govern your rental arrangement and legally binds you ("Guest") to the terms set forth below. This rental is conditioned expressly upon your acceptance without modification of the terms, conditions, and notice requirements set forth below. GENERAL RESERVATION INFORMATION Date Agreement Issued: Guest Name: ACCEPTANCE & PAYMENT TERMS This agreement must be signed and your required payment received (either the deposit or full payment) for your reservation to be confirmed. A minimum of 50% deposit is required, and the balance of your full payment is due 30 days prior to the commencement date of your rental period. If you book your rental less than 30 days in advance of your stay, we will charge your full payment immediately by credit card or you must otherwise arrange for payment immediately or your reservation will not be accepted. If a balance payment is to be made, a confirmation notice will be sent to you via email to confirm receipt of payment. FAILURE TO MAKE FINAL PAYMENT ON A TIMELY BASIS WILL RESULT IN THE AUTOMATIC CANCELLATION OF YOUR RESERVATION AND LOSS OF ANY DEPOSIT PAID PURSUANT TO THIS AGREEMENT'S CANCELLATION AND NO REFUND POLICY BOOKING DETAILS Rental Property: Sunset Shores 68-121 Au St #401 Waialua, HI Customer: Reservation Number: Arrival Date (after 4:30 PM): Departure Date (by 11:00 AM): Maximum number of guests: Rate per Night $ $ Number of Nights Total Rent $ Wire transfer fee none Occupancy Tax 13.75 % $ Departure Cleaning $160.00 $ Damage Insurance $ Processing Fee none $ Total Charges $ INSURANCE It is strongly recommended that guests purchase travel insurance. You are a valued guest and we want to do everything possible to make your trip enjoyable and worry free. Because the unforeseen and unexpected can occur before you leave or when you are away from home, we recommend CSA's Guest Cancellation Insurance Plan. CANCELLATION AND NO REFUND POLICY CANCELLATION after confirmation of booking, which includes a Guest's decision not to stay at a unit upon arrival, results in forfeiture of any and all collected money, except the Guest's cleaning fee if full payment has been made. The pre-paid cleaning fee is not part of the deposit to hold the property. The pre-paid cleaning fee is included in the balance payment, therefore, the total deposit will be forfeited, except the pre-paid cleaning fee, if you cancel after confirmation of booking and have made full payment. Collected money is non-refundable unless the rental unit becomes unfit for habitation and no equivalent substitute can be obtained. However, after cancellation for any reason, if a portion of the rental time is re-booked at the same rate, a pro-rata refund will be made for those dates re-booked. To protect against cancellations caused by certain unforeseen events, such as illness, we recommend that guests purchase travel insurance to assure refund of deposits paid. Any CHANGES made to a booking after a confirmation is subject to approval by Mary Castle in writing and may include a service fee of up to $100. GENERAL TERMS, CONDITIONS AND DISCLOSURES Damage Insurance is required to cover damage to and/or loss of items from the property, and /or excessive cleaning (as determined by housekeeping upon your departure). You hereby agree to pay the owners for such items and by written bill for any such items beyond the $1500.00 maximum insurance overage outlined in this agreement, such as unpaid expenses for services rendered to guest, damaged or missing property, etc. TOTAL RENTAL CHARGES under this Agreement do not include lei greeting, baggage handling, daily maid service (unless noted), gratuities, long distance telephone charges, car rental, airfare, food, liquor, laundry, personal items, excessive cleaning upon departure (i.e. upholstery or rug shampooing, smoke disinfectant etc.). ALL RATES are quoted on a per night basis for no more guests than the maximum occupancy listed. Additional guests must be disclosed to and agreed to IN WRITING by Mary Castle. CHECK IN is after 4:30 PM local time. CHECK OUT is required by 11:00 AM on the day of departure. Exceptions to these CHECK-IN and CHECK-OUT times must be approved in writing by the owners. In the event of holdover by Guest beyond the departure date set forth in this Agreement, Guest shall pay an amount equal to three (3) times the daily rate for each and every day of such holdover. LATE CHECK-OUTS OF LESS THAN ONE DAY WILL BE CHARGED THE EQUIVALENT OF ONE FULL DAY RENT. Guest agrees and acknowledges that this rental arrangement is not subject to the residential landlord/tenant code of Hawaii (Hawaii Revised Statutes chapter 521) since this is not a long term residential rental. All disputes arising out of this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the Hawaii State courts of Honolulu County, Hawaii, (or, if there is exclusive federal jurisdiction, the United States District Court for Hawaii) and the parties consent to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction and venue of these courts. Effect of Cancellation If this contract is cancelled for any reason, Guest no longer reserves the right to stay at the booked accommodation. However, this contract remains a legally binding contract and Guest agrees the CANCELLATION AND NO REFUND POLICY and applicable sections of the GENERAL TERMS, CONDITIONS AND DISCLOSURES and CONDITIONS OF RENTAL, and the ADDITIONAL DISCLOSURES section remain in full force and affect. Severability If a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision of this Agreement to be illegal, invalid, or unenforceable as to any circumstance, that finding shall not make the offending provision illegal, invalid, or unenforceable as to any other circumstance. If feasible, the offending provision shall be considered modified so that it becomes legal, valid and enforceable. If the offending provision cannot be so modified, it shall be considered deleted from this Agreement. Unless otherwise required by law, the illegality, invalidity, or unenforceability of any provision of this Agreement shall not affect the legality, validity or enforceability of any other provision of this Agreement. CONDITIONS OF RENTAL This reservation is for quiet residential vacation accommodations only. Therefore, parties, receptions, luaus, events, and gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited. No additional people beyond the maximum occupancy of the house are allowed on the property at any one time, unless disclosed to and agreed upon by the owners in writing. One vehicle may be parked on the property at any one time. Street parking is available for an additional vehicle. Guest's use of the property is subject to local noise ordinances, therefore loud amplified music is not allowed. Noise complaints are subject to local law enforcement intervention. Law enforcement intervention will be deemed as a breach of this Agreement and may lead to cancellation. The property shall be in the same condition upon departure as at check-in, normal wear and tear excepted. Guest may not sublet or assign this Agreement. Guest may cook only in areas specifically designated for cooking in the unit. Guest must immediately notify the owners of any fire or other damage or injury to the property or any person on the Property. Guest shall be liable for all acts of the family, invitees, employees, or other persons invited onto the property by guest. Guest shall be responsible to return all keys and gate or garage door openers upon departure. Loss of the Condo Complex key is subject to a $100.00 key replacement fee. Guest shall abide by the House Rules of the Owner and/or the Condominium Association as provided to Guest upon check-in. Guest shall not bring any pets onto the property. Guest understands that the owners cannot guarantee that adjacent properties will be free from disturbances and/or not be under construction, being repaired or maintained in any way, or that State construction projects will not be in progress around the rental unit. Construction on adjacent properties or construction conducted by the State is not reason for termination of this agreement, nor is it a reason for the refund of any monies to Guest. Guest understands that Hawaii is a tropical climate in which insects, rodents and lizards unfortunately flourish. You will undoubtedly encounter these pests during your stay and understand that the owners will make his best efforts to hold to an absolute minimum your interaction with these pests. Contact with a pest inside or outside of your rental is not reason for termination of this Agreement nor is it a reason for a refund of your monies. It is customary to remove one's' shoes prior to entering a home in Hawaii. Red Dirt is common in Hawaii and may stain carpets if Guest does not remove shoes prior to entering a rental, Guest is responsible for the removal of any stains or damage done tile/wood flooring and upholstery. GUESTS UNDERSTAND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING IN THE RENTAL OR ANY COMMON AREA OF THE COMPLEX. Any evidence of smoking in the rental will result in a $250 additional cleaning fee to disinfect the rental. Guest understands that there are certain risks inherent to persons and property located adjacent to the ocean. Can't get any closer to the beach. Quiet, yet very close to Haleiwa and some great restaurants in a tropical setting and only 40 minute drive to Waikiki to visit shops, the beach front action and return to Waialua. Our condo location has the best of all worlds on Oahu....very unique.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
We love watching the whales breech just beyond the two reefs in front of the condo during the winter months. We see turtles every afternoon only several feet from the sand. Sometimes they come ashore to bask in the sun. We love the sunsets....while cooking only several feet from the sand on one of the two gas BBQ's and sipping our favorite beverage.
