My husband, daughter, son-in-law and three small grandsons stayed at our "hometel" for nine nights beginning on March 26 . . . coining the phrase, "hometel" as we all did feel that it was like being at home rather than a hotel. There were many things we loved about this place, to mention a few: It was very clean being well maintained and had many comforts such as adequate space, rich linens, more than enough kitchen supplies, excellent appliances, adequate beds and a wonderful TV and cable system in the living room. Probably the highlight of the place was the pool and pool area, where we ate all our meals . . the only trouble being sometimes getting the grandsons out of the pool! The gas grill came in handy but would suggest having an extra tank available as we ran out of gas our first time using and needed to go and purchase another. It was wonderful to have a large, corner-lot area surrounded by palm trees - especially on Easter when the Easter bunny hid the eggs all around the yard. The quiet neighborhood was a good place for those morning walks also. The location was ideal for us being only about 1/2 hour away from the Fort Myers airport and halfway between Fort Myers and Naples, both areas which we visited. There are so many sites to visit in the area including Sanibel Island, many beaches and the Everglades. We did these and more. We hope to return to this home next year if it is available. We chose this place because of its location halfway between Naples and Fort Myers and what a good decision that was. We were able to visit both places easily and more local to the house were shops, bars, restaurants, the beach, golf, tennis and pretty much anything else we wanted to do all within easy reach. It is a lovely house that has obviously just been re-furbished and all the towels, linens, equipment, etc. were new. The place was newly decorated and was very clean and comfortable. With the house being in a very quiet neighbourhood, we were able to relax straightaway and felt at home very quickly. There are sidewalks all around the neighbourhood and so it was easy to take that morning stroll and chat to the full-time residents. Bonita Springs is part of ‘old’ Florida and is very quiet and safe and this place certainly reflected that. The outside of this property is where it really scored (which is where we want to spend most of our time when we escape the cold of the UK!) as the pool area is extensive and fully caged. The pool itself is large and heated and was an ideal place for us to start each day (and we finished most of them there as well!). Also, the plot the property sits on seemed to be much larger than usual and the whole area is surrounded by different types of palm trees. This made for a very nice environment in which to sit by the pool and soak up the rays. We had a great time and will definitely be going back to this place as it is one of the most enjoyable properties we have stayed at in our 20 years of visiting Florida. We also love the area with up-market Naples just a few miles away and the beaches at Barefoot and Delnor-Wiggins very close and seemingly never packed. We didn’t get chance to visit the Everglades, despite it just being down the road, but will be doing so next time. Also, we flew into Tampa and did the long drive down but next time we may try flying into Fort Myers International as it is only a 20-30 minute drive away.Owner response: Nice job !
