Perhaps the finest townhome/apartment in Anghiari. First time renting in 2011. now for sale. Our townhome is three stories, built into the gate/wall of the old town in 1204. Designer/decorated, the best of medieval architecture blended with traditional antiques and Italian modern with new kitchen and bathrooms. About 175 sq metres (1800 sq feet), there is a sense of spaciousness and elegance. A separate dining room with arched brick ceiling has direct access to dining terrace with gorgeous views of the Tiber Valley. The living room is furnished with Busatti fabric, Persian carpets and antique fireplace. The large master bedroom (king bed) and bathroom are on this floor. The Varenna kitchen is all stainless steel. Upstairs, there is a very large audio visual room with two modern Italian leather couches (good for grandchildren to sleep on) and second master bedroom (queen bed) with cathedral ceiling and bathroom. Access to the upstairs terrace for taking in the sun or cocktail parties.

About the owner: We are a retired Canadian couple who purchased this second home in Tuscany in 2005 and totally rebuilt the townhome.
Why the Owner Chose Anghiari:
For all the usual reasons we love Tuscany. Anghiari however, is a taste of the 'real' Italian village. It's slow paced and friendly atmosphere are welcoming to all. There is easy access to daily shopping and restaurants and yet if one wants to make it the centre of day trips to the popular Tuscan centres of Siena or Florence there is no better vantage point.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
World class vineyards located just a short drive away. It is a major centre of Italian Renaissance art. It is a wonderful area for hiking a biking. Within the walled city it is pedestrian only but there is easy parking access.
It is somewhat off the beaten track of the normal high-volume tourist areas of Tuscany, yet has all the conviences of walkable daily living. The people are fantastic!
