Have you been searching for a home to rent big enough for everyone on a fabulous lake with nice sandy frontage? Our 1997 custom built 3,720 square foot Cedar home on a wooded lot has two master suites (18 x 16 sq. ft.), both with large walk in closets and awesome sized bathrooms. Three additional bedrooms (12 x 12 s f, 12 x 12 s f, & 12 x 11 s f), two living rooms (22 x 28 s f & 22 x 12 s f), parlor (19 x 11 s f), exercise room (19 x 11 s f), large kitchen/dining area (18 x 19 s f) and an attached garage (24 x 28 s f) . Add to this, 100 feet of frontage on the beautiful and premiere Squash Lake with 400 acres of recreational fun right at your backdoor. The house comes with a laundry room (13 x 10 s f) complete with washer and dryer for your convenience, along with ceiling fans throughout the house, pantry, whirlpool tubs, range, refrigerator, outside gas grill, kitchen small appliances, two zone forced air natural gas furnace, central air, a gas stove in the family room for extra warmth and atmosphere, four outside decks (one covered), a lake shore bonfire pit and seating, and a swim raft and paddle boat for summer fun. Bring your ski boat, pontoon, & ski doo with you or rent them in town for your stay.
Rhinelander is the county seat of Oneida County and has the most amenities offered in the Northwoods. St. Mary’s Hospital and Aspirus Walk in clinic will serve all medical needs. The many museums in town will keep your family busy on any rainy day. Discovering the many parks and public beaches in the area will increase your family’s fun and adventure. The Wisconsin Riverboat Cruises, an excellent family outing, will offer an evening of relaxation and an opportunity to view more of the landscape and wildlife in the area. The Northwoods Golf Course is an affordable, public, 18 hole club complete with driving range, pro shop, & restaurant. Northwoods also offers winter snow tubing for family fun. Another nearby public country club is Inshalla. There is also the private Rhinelander Country Club for national members set on the Rhinelander Flowage. The three casinos within an hour of the house provide an adult evening of entertainment and fine dining. Check out the Lake of the Torches for their nightly buffet specials (all you can eat crab legs and prime rib is especially good), and big name entertainment. Watersmeet and Mole Lake offer gambling and food also. Horseback riding, stables & trails available everywhere. Check out the Western Connection Ranch on Hwy K, a full service facility for the equestrians visiting our area. Hunting is excellent on all the public lands available to everyone, with deer, small game, bear, and birds galore. If a lazy day on the river is what you’re looking for, check out the canoe and tubing opportunities. If you want more excitement, check out the race tracks. In winter the Eagle River Snowmobile Derby Track offers a week of national competition guaranteed to make a lasting memory or visit one of the local circuits of vintage racing throughout the season. Throughout the summer, check out the weekly car and truck racing at tracks in Eagle River, Three Lakes, Tomahawk and Lac du Flambeau. Also, don’t miss the Crandon Brush Run held at the beginning and end of summer. Scuba diving is a great sport throughout the summer. Check out the two dive shops, Woodruff & Wausau for air and supplies. Squash Lake is especially good for scuba with its crystal clear deep waters and caves under the small island. There is indoor year round ice skating at the Rhinelander Ice Arena, as well as outside at Pioneer Park all winter long, in town. The many snowmobile clubs offer groomed trail riding for hundreds of miles. Easy access from Squash Lake to the Northwoods Passage trail system. Travel our road one block to the boat launch and cross the lake to the Hwy, cross over and you’re on your way. All trails go to the casinos and beyond. Rentals are also available in town. Family tours of the Hatchery in Woodruff and the Cranberry Marsh are offered. For the young ones, spend the day in Laona, at Camp 5 to experience a genuine logging camp lifestyle with a steam train ride, petting zoo, gift shop, hay wagon ride, & pontoon ride. There are two local wineries, the Three Lakes Winery and Brigadoon Winery in Tripoli that offer wine tasting and shops with their own labels and other items. For a great way to spend the evening, the Hodag Water Ski shows are Wednesday and Sunday throughout the summer and on the Fourth of July, and are held at Boom Lake at the Hodag Park in Rhinelander. There your family can also enjoy the fireworks. Also don’t miss the Fred Scheer’s Lumberjack shows in Woodruff, the children will love it. The Waters of Minocqua, an indoor/outdoor water park is also popular with the children. If you love to ATV, access the trails with a very pleasant ride starting at our house. Can’t forget the fishermen and women as Squash Lake provides Walleye, Northern, Large Mouth, Small Mouth, Crappies and Gills for year round action. Many guides available if it’s your first time here and want to go home with a wall mount. Hint: Never take the children swimming without taking your fish pole along. All the lakes, rivers and streams hold fish waiting for you. Head down the road to the Hat Rapids Dam and enjoy river fishing that is both convenient and bountiful. For the skiers, we offer local trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. For the downhill skiers, Camp 10, our local hill offers beginners and those who want to squeeze in just a few hours, is open on the weekends. Chair lifts are available for skiing and snowboarding both for beginners and those wanting to brush up. After that, plan a day to the mountains that are an hour to three hours away. Ski Brule in Iron Mountain, MI, Granite Peak in Wausau, WI, Powderhorn & BlackJack in Bessemer, MI, Whitecap in Hurley, WI, Nordic Mountain & Spirit Mountain in Superior/ Duluth, WI/MN. From the very new to the very experienced, these mountains offer a variety of skill levels. Also for the family, check out Vogel’s Farm, Zinger’s Paintball, and the many miniature golf courses and go cart fun centers in the area. Bring along your mountain bikes for the many lake, hiking, and forest trails. If you love your motorcycles, don't forget the Tomahawk Fall Ride in September of each year. Book early. Come in the Autumn when the leaves are peaking in color and when hunting and fishing surpass all other sports, come in the summer when the weather is right for the water activities, bonfires, and star gazing, come in the winter for the ice, snow, and beat your cabin fever doldrums with outside winter activities followed by a cup of hot chocolate and a warm fire, come in the spring and watch the rebirth of the woods and the new babies on the lake. It truly is “Paradise” and we are sure you will enjoy the experience.
