This place was perfect for us! The pictures were accurate, and we enjoyed every bit of the view from the private lanai. We loved being on the ground floor, and you can not see your neighbors on either side,; the set up is extremely private. You do see people walking by, but they are very unobtrusive, and don't even look up. Most days, we didnt even see anyone walking by. We loved being literally 20 feet from the crashing waves. The owner, John, was helpful and kind in all our dealings. Smooth transactions from beginning to end. Nice to find shampoo, soaps, beach towels, lotions, etc already in the unit, making it feel more like a home than a rental. Everything is well maintained and spotless. It was quite hot in Kauai, but we did enjoy the cool cross breezes and the upright "tube" fan, as well as the ceiling fans. The washer and dryers are one on each floor, a little washer and dryer would have been nice as well in the unit,but wasnt a deal breaker :) as you seriously don't have much laundry here. My husband saw two whales at the start of our stay, which was wonderful and very lucky as the whale watching season ended in April. We enjoyed the turtles swimming in the waves,; When the sun hits the wave, you can see their little heads bobbing up, and their shells, which was totally exciting to us. Watching the surfers, some of which look to be world class level, was entertaining and relaxing as we ate out on the lanai (on extremely comfortable chairs I might add) The best snorkelling is right beside the condo, a 2 min. walk . We love to snorkel and this was a huge selling point of this location! Great base for sightseeing as well. So much sunshine (we checked out the north shore, and while lush and beautiful, was too dark for us, coming from a rainy, dark place ourselves) I will be recommending this condo and this unit to anyone who is looking for a wonderful , reasonably priced vacation in Kauai. Our third trip to kauai, definitely the best condo we have stayed in! The condo was immaculate, the owners fabulous to deal with, the views and location spectacular. Activities too numerous to mention.... Favourites are snorkelling, beaching, watching the surfers, the amazing sunsets. Love this location because it is out of the city, but close enough to our favorite dining establishments and beaches. Deep sea fishing, scuba diving, Nepali coast tours, both by water and helicopter. Highly recommend!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway.

The condo was exactly like the photos- beautiful, modern, very well-equipped, clean and comfortable. We felt "at home". The view was wonderful - sound of the ocean crashing on the rocks, sea turtles bobbing in the waves,a school of dolphins playing where the water is deeper and surfers aplenty. Add a sailboat sailing into a beautiful tropical sunset and you can see why we didn't want to come home. A great way to celebrate our 50th anniversary. Our best rental yet on Kauai. Great amenities with awesome views from the patio. This unit is 'as advertised" + much more. The south shore gets you the best weather on the island plus easy access to groceries, gas, and plenty of great restaurants.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We couldn't have asked for better accommodation during our recent visit to Kauai. From watching the turtles while having a morning cup of coffee to watching dolphins and surfers in the late afternoon the view from this condo is spectacular. The condo is beautifully decorated and well-equipped and very comfortable and literally steps from the water. This condo is ground level so you can walk right out. The grounds are well-kept and it is in a great location. Our friends are planning a trip to Kauai in the near future and I told them they HAD to stay at this condo and after I showed them all of our photos, they couldn't agree more. I can't wait to visit again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This condo deserves every 5 star rating. I'm almost reticent to review, because I can't wait to get back and fear that the "secret" will be out and it won't be available! Yes, it's that fantastic. I prefer to rent condos when traveling because of the convenience of a full kitchen and privacy, and this one tops all of my previous rentals (some of which have been great). True facts: It is literally the closest to the ocean of any I saw on Kauai. The restaurant around the corner (The Beach House) really is that good. The turtles do put on a show for you right outside your lanai. And, not to be bested by turtles, the pro-caliber surfers also dazzle. (Though unless you're a pro-caliber surfer, I wouldn't chance the big stuff). The beach West of the condo does in fact have terrific snorkeling. The condo was well-appointed and their design choices were excellent. The friendly fellow who maintains the place gave us some great tips on local sights which we enjoyed. The owners went out of their way to be responsive, friendly, and make us want to stay in their place even before arrived, and we were ever-so-glad we did. Yes, this review is gushing, but well-deserved.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The listing description and the photos on the web site are very accurate-everything is brand new, and the bed is the most comfortable bed we've ever slept on! The condo and the grounds are very clean and well maintained. John and Janis quickly responded to all our emails and answered all our questions. They made it so easy. Features we found great: (1) the condo has an in-room safe that was large enough to hold our laptop, cameras, purse, wallet, etc. while we were out snorkeling and enjoying the beach; (2) the condo supplied all our snorkeling and beach gear, including beach chairs, coolers, umbrella, which saves you a lot of money on rentals and waiting in line at the rental stores. Just grab and go when the mood strikes you. The location is terrific-it sits on Lawai Beach where you see a lot of sea turtles, and Poipu Beach is about a mile away. Our neighbors at the condo told us about the Plantation Gardens restaurant at the Kiahuna Plantation Resort just down Poipu Road, and we had a wonderful dinner there. Be sure to request a table on the lanai because it has gorgeous gardens. Tomkats Cafe in Old Town Koloa had great fish & chips, and the kalua pork sandwich at Brennecke's was delicious. The best pancakes we've had EVER were at the golf course clubhouse at the Grand Hyatt just down the road. I rented this condo for one week during a 3 week sabbatical on Kauai. The owner of this condo is a home builder and he refurbished the unit to his own specifications. From the moment I walked into the condo I felt like I was at home. Actually, this condo is nicer than my home (condo). There is high quality funiture (unlike the common bamboo junk in other condos). And the wood trim and other details are amazing. The shower is so nice that you will want to share it with a friend. I wish I could hire John to come to San Jose and refurb my condo. But he is in demand, and is currently remodeling a beach home on North Kauai (I HAVE TO to check it out before I leave the island). Next year I am sure that I will have to book this condo FAR in advance. The other reviews are spot on, so I wont go on about watching the surfers or the turtles. But I will send John my photos for his website. We loved our stay at this beautifully remodeled condo. The furnishings were top notch; the kitchen well equipped and the King bed so comfortable. The location can't be beat. The waves crash 20 feet from your lanai, where you can watch countless sea turtles and surfers having fun. The little beach, about a 2 minute walk down a perfectly manicured lawn, is lovely. It also has great snorkeling. Couldn't be more convenient. If you don't want to lie in the sand you can lie on the perfect lawn, with the beach right below you. There is a darling snorkel shop right there, however the condo comes equipped with snorkeling equipment and everything else you'd need for the beach. Can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
