my Family came for a March spring break and a look at uncw. we arrived to a nice house in a great location. The house across the street was under major renovation with work starting at 7 to 730 am each morning we were there. the work included the running of gas generators and mortar mixing wagon which is not a great vacation sound when you are trying to get some rest. I know the owners are not responsible for the neighbors noise but between the trucks parking all up and down the street and the laborers noise it was not a tranquil setting. The pool was nice to look at but since it was not heated it was basically useless and with 2 teenage boys looking forward to swimming this was a big disappointment. The pool had a heater which was disconnected due to disrepair. There are lots of houses less expensive to rent on the beach that do not have a pool and I felt like it was a little misleading to advertise a pool in march when it is not heated. The third floor is the only kitchen with a stove so we did our cooking up there. the first night we were there we noticed a few ants on the third floor counters so we started keeping everything including the fruit in the fridge. day two more ants all day and so on through the week. I know there are worse things than ants but maybe some regular baiting could help this issue.Their was a vist one day from someone who I assume was the caretaker,I say assume because he was on his phone when he showed up. He never introduced himself but walked through the yard and nosed around under the house talking on the phone for several minutes while we waited in our car about top go out for the day. After decidiing the phone call must be pretty important we left so as not to disturb this guy. I would rate this house as average and if the pool was working it would be rated higher. Francine needs to be more responsive in the "new "technology of email since it took her days to respond to our questions and even acknowledge our deposit ect. In my opinion I would not stay here again because the price does not match the product and the service side was off the mark .
