This was our third visit to Costa Rica. Our first to Casa Celestial, but hope this will be the first of many visits to this spectacular home. We were a group of two families which included 5 children (ages 4-15) This home was perfect for us, with the soft beds, beautifully decorated, and adequately stocked kitchen for the meals we prepared in the home. Edgardo, the manager, was PERFECTION! He went above and beyond to help us. He met us late the evening of arrival and went over the house with us and provided us with recommendations for excursions, local restaurants, grocery stores, and taxis. As it was our third visit to Costa Rica, we felt comfortable renting a van and driving in. We were familiar with this little fishing town as we had stopped here to see the sunset on our last visit. We did rent a GPS at the car rental place and I highly recommend it. It is high atop a mountain, but well worth the drive, even I drove up and down the mountain and didn't have to rely on my husband for this. We did eat at Villa Caletas (the Shrimp and Lobster Rissoto dinner was wonderful) and watched another amazing sunset. We also recommend Tico Style Tours in Tarcoles for a great fishing, snorkeling, white sand beach with fresh caught lobster lunch and nature hike. Having dinner with Gino, the captain and his family gave us a true Typico Costa Rican meal that was outstanding and was a awesome experience and feel we made new friends. We will definitely book excursions with them on our next visit. The infinity pool was perfect and watching the sunsets was breathtaking. The grounds were well maintained and beautiful. We used the outdoor sink and grill to grill up some fresh shrimp and burgers. I cannot describe how much we enjoyed our stay at this home. Two of our guys went on a fishing trip and a 15 year old caught a Black Sailfish. A memory of a lifetime. We did drive to Monteverde to Zipline and for those of us not willing to zipline we were able to ride the Skytram. We saw amazing views of Arenal and three other volcanoes. We love Costa Rica and have visited Guanacaste region and Escazu, but Casa Celestial has captured our heart. We hope to one day have our own piece of Heaven in this beautiful country and live "Pura Vida" (The Good Life). Thanks so much Chris for sharing your beautiful home as a rental. And thanks again Egdardo for everything you did to help us! Chris, you really do have a gem of a home and manager for your property. Pura Vida! Highly recommend!

We arrived at Casa Celestial on Friday, March1st and left on Saturday, March 9th. It was a wonderful stay in a beautiful home. The location of the house is up on the hillside. The back patio and pool overlook the water and we had the most spectacular sunsets each night. The beauty of the colors could not be captured in the pictures we took. However, we have tons of pictures to remind us! The house was very comfortable, the beds and lines well done. We enjoyed listening to the birds and the geeckos each day with their "kissing" sounds. The macaw birds also flew by and we found their nest in the tree at the bottom of the mountain. Edguardo, the overseer of the property was awesome! He was so helpful with our questions and pointed us to various sites and activities. We took advantage of the wonderful seafood, fresh fruits and vegetables and did most of the cooking at home. We enjoyed the patio so much, all of our meals were outside. The kitchen is well equipped with all of the necessary dishes, cooking utensils and such. We found the large supermarket where we could load up on necessities during the week. We visited the hotel villa caletas for dinner and a view of the sunset. In addition, we took advantage of the spa there. We totally recommend their spa services if you are so inclined. We also did Zip Lining in Jaco. Chris, the owner, set us up with Pedro as the drive. He picked us up at the airport and took us to the house. He had also arranged to have rental car delivered to the house when we arrived and then picked up the day we left. We recommend this mode of transport to and from the airport as the roads are a bit confusing at first. Excellent way to relax and get away from the cold winters in the Northeast!

Our family (2 adults and 4 kids ages 16, 15, 11, 10) visited Costa Rica from July 8 - July 19, 2012. We stayed at Casa Celestial for one week. It was a referral from a colleague, who stayed there earlier in the year. For as great as we heard it was, our expectations were far exceeded and it was better than imagined. The house is beautiful -- in a gated community, secluded from other residences on the top of a mountain overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We had everything we could have asked for: air conditioning, top quality appliances, comfortable bedding, etc. It truly felt like we were in a 5 star resort. Tarcoles is also a good location: about 1 hour or so from Manuel Antonio; minutes from beaches, the crocodile tour, horseback riding on the beach; and 20 minutes from Jaco. The manager, Ronny, is also a great guy who was very helpful with tours and answering questions. Greg and Ronit

We spent Holy Week 2012 in the house, and had a magical time! The pictures on the web site are amazing, but do not capture the true beauty and magic of this property. My husband and I brought my mother (age 70) and our son (age 13), as well as our married daughters with their husbands. It was great to have all the family together under one roof - and what a roof it was! The house is clean and uncluttered. The kitchen had everything we needed. All rooms have individual air conditioners. The house has Wi-Fi and satellite TV (not that we watched much!) The pool was perfect, and the property also boasts a Tiki hut up the small hill, with a hammock, fan and lights, and a teak table and chairs which seated 8 comfortably. Chris, the owner, is a gentleman and we actually looked forward to hearing from him. He met us at the airport in San Jose to escort us back to the house (something I recommend), but we had our own cars for the entire week, and got around easily. Chris introduced us to Ronny, a local, who not only took us on one of the most amazing crocodile boating trips (He IS the crocodile man!), but was able to get us private tours of the canopy (zip lining) and would have taken us on any other tours we wanted. He was wonderful, and I would definately ask Chris about obtaining Ronny's services while you are in Costa Rica! On our first day, Chris took us for a tour of Tarcoles (the small town at the base of our mountain), as well as Jaco (about 20 kms south and VERY tourist-oriented). On the property, we saw hummingbirds, monkeys, scarlet macaws, and 4 whales in the Tarcoles harbor! We took a day trip to Manuel Antonio National Park, and saw the white-faced monkeys, 2-toed and 3-toed sloths, toucans, iguanas, hummingbirds, termites (my son ate them and they are minty), and a local land crab (very colorful). On the zip-lining, my son went upside-down (I was amazed and scared at the same time) and we ate more fruit and seafood - to die for! The locals (called Ticos) are very nice and helpful. Tico families rely heavily on tourism dollars, so we always tipped heavily when the service were good (almost every time!). My husband and I have rented homes from VRBO for years - this is the BEST house we have ever found, and I would recommend it to anyone! If you are lucky enough to find an open week, grab it! We'll be back! Thank you, Chris, for an amazing vacation - we LOVE your house and your hospitality!!

The views are wonderful. The house is quite large and could accomodate a lot of people. The higher elevation adds a nice breeze that makes the temperature perfect. The house is best equiped for adults and children over 5 or 6 years old. The infinity pool is a very good place to spend the afternoon.
