The stay was very disappointing with numerous issues. We were locked out for over 2 hours awaiting a return call from the owner, to find out she had provided us with an incorrect access code. There is plenty of evidence that this unit is the owner’s personal residence, as well as the fridge, which was full of the resident’s own foods and there was not one vacant kitchen cupboard in which to store our own groceries (for 5 people). The BBq ran out of propane before our first meal was cooked. There was a very limited towel supply. The property swimming pool and hot tub were closed. The home faced and neighboured new in-progress construction. The owner charges a cleaning fee but expects you to strip all the bed linens and towels, start the laundry, wash and put away all dishes. As well, the owner is expensing our damage deposit for a scratch on a table surface, and a small spot stain on a dining chair...did not realize that normal wear and tear qualified as damage.Recommended for: Adventure seekers.
Owner response: I am proud to rent my vacation property at Qualicum Landing . Over the past year , I have had amazing renters and some have provided reviews. Until now, I have never had to withhold a damage deposit. This was a first for me. I leave condiments, staples and coffee in the fridge and cupboards for guests to use while renting. Who wants to bring flour, sugar or Maille dijon? There are empty cupboards to store groceries/ supplies. Additional towels are located in bedroom closets and large bath sheets available for in house and pool use.(Pool open June to September) I keep an additional propane tank on site. Unfortunately, my guests left the house without advising me of the damage; the written words engraved and gouges in a new dining table (they were the first to use it) , stains on chairs, torn bedding, (photos provided to renter) damage to walls and armour while moving twin bedroom furniture. This was not normal wear and tear according to the Furniture Doctor. He will need the table for a few weeks to properly repair. Due to the summer rental period, it will not be repaired until the fall. My apologies. I welcome all reviews - there is always room for improvement!

My wife and I stayed at this wonderful home for a weekend getaway in March. The beach house is very tastefully decorated; a wonderful open concept with a gourmet kitchen, comfy bed, cozy living room, deep soaker tub….loved it! All this and moments away from the beach. We are already planning our next holiday in the summer so we can enjoy the super pool and hot tubs! We highly recommend this home and its proximity to wonderful walks and the quaint towns of Qualicum Beach and Coombs.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful getaway in this perfectly appointed and spotlessly maintained ocean side home, which had everything we needed. The house was beautifully, and comfortably, decorated and the comfort and quietness of the evenings meant I slept soundly. There was also a binder which provided answers to any questions we had and ideas of where to venture. We especially loved the sunrise and sunset walks along the beach, and walking the nearby Lighthouse Trail. In addition, thanks to the wonderfully thorough binder, we also visited a couple of local attractions, including the Qualicum Dairy for a great range of local cheeses, and the fantastic French bakery, La Boulange. In addition, we also enjoyed the shopping available in the quaint seaside town of Qualicum, which was only a few minutes drive away.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

My husband & I had an amazing week. It was the perfect setting for some much needed R&R and sharing new adventures. The house is immaculate, beautifully appointed, and every detail looked after, right down to the information book which includes anything you'll ever need to know about the house and the local area. We love kayaking, and with the beach mere steps away, we could easily carry our kayaks down, and slide them into the water. We watched dolphins play in the near distance, bald eagles soaring above, and seals diving in the water to catch breakfast. Spider Lake is only about 15 minutes away, and is off-limits to all motorized boats, making it a water enthusiast's delight. We enjoyed walking on the beach, the many choices of hiking trails nearby, driving to Coombs General Store to stare at the goats munching on the famous moss covered roof, and picnics at Little Qualicum Falls. In the evenings, we'd watch the sunset at the fire pit with a glass of wine. We couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you again for a memorable week. We can't wait to book our next on!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

It was a true delight to stay in this beautifully appointed and spotlessly maintained ocean front home, which had everything we needed to make ourselves at home. All the questions we might have had were answered in the handy binder of information. The beds were super comfortable, and the house is very tastefully decorated. We enjoyed exploring the beach, and walking the Lighthouse Trail. We also visited a couple of local food attractions, including the Qualicum Dairy for a great range of local cheeses, and the fantastic French bakery, La Boulange - a great place to pick up the best fresh baked bread, and delicious pizzas. There are many options for dining in Qualicum Beach, and we enjoyed a wonderful Italian dinner at Giovanni's.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

I needed a short break from my work. The home was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. I enjoyed the amenities in the recreation centre. The gym was well equipped and in the warmer months, the pool and hot tubs would be great. Best of all was the location; bordering a beautiful beach with lovely views of the mountains and BC scenery. The owner is delightful and went out of her way to meet my needs. All in all a wonderful spot for a short break or a longer vacation.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
