Our cottage at 14 Middlefield Street has a fully renovated kitchen, a new master bedroom, a new upstairs bathroom, and a new deck. It is warm and cozy, and sunshine flows through all of the windows surrounding the kitchen and living room. It is a wonderful place for families, and for reunions as well. Come back from the beach, shower off in our outside shower, and sit by the back deck at sunset with a cool drink. Bikes, kayaks, and games are available to keep everyone busy, and there's lots to do in town. Groton Long Point is a throw-back town where kids can roam freely and safely all around the point on their bikes, and most folks leave their doors open for visitors. Enjoy your stay in the cottage!

                            Have a drink while you grill out on the back patio, or walk less than a block to the water for a sunset spin in the two-person kayak that's provided. Curl up with a book in the living room or head down to the beach. Take the kids crabbing by the bridge near main beach, or fishing off of the dock. After a stop by the playground, grab an ice cream at the Casino cafe afterwards. Great area for walks or jogs along the water. Ride your bike or walk to the tennis courts if you still have energy. Go into Mystic for the historic seaport, aquarium, or shopping. Rent a sailboat in Mystic. Take a day trip to Newport or Stonington for other beautiful towns and beaches. Come back in time for sunset pictures. Hot lobster rolls and clam chowder at Abbotts or Costellos are a must.                             We stayed at this great GLP home for a family wedding in June 2012. Our 10 day stay was excellent. We could walk to kiddie beach and easily access the rest of GLP. We really enjoyed the modern kitchen and back deck..where we enjoyed lunch and dinner. We especially enjoyed the air conditioners when a June heat wave hit! There were a couple of things not working when we first came to the property (sink not draining and stove burner not working). They were both fixed by the agent in a timely manner. All in all a great place to stay! If you are looking for an affordable, family friendly home this is the place! We have already booked for June 2013.

                            Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children.

                          About the owner: The Morrison family cottage is owned by three brothers -- Dan, Matt, and Neil -- and their families. We hope that it brings you as much joy together as it has all of us.

                          We have been coming up to Groton Long Point every year for almost 40 years. It is truly a magical place like no other.

                          The Unique Benefits at this House:
                          You can see the beach down the street from our front door. We are on a quiet street with virtually no traffic, but a quick walk to everything that Groton Long Point has to offer. If some like to sleep in late, others walk down to the Casino Cafe for breakfast and coffee, or stroll along the beach. Our favorite activity is heading down to the beach right before sunset for a swim and a beach. You can have the beach to yourself, and the views are spectacular.
