I was there last weekend with a few other people and had a fabulous time! The house is great with lots of room for 3+ couples, all the latest amenities and newly remodeled. Amazing kitchen and living room space with flat screen and lots of movies! The view out of the front windows of the lake and mountains is beautiful. Why even bother coming to Tahoe if you can't see the lake and from this place the lake is part of the view from everywhere in the house. Really close to get down to the beach, close to drive to restaurants and hiking. In fact some trails are accessible walking from the house. The house was clean and so nice! Wish I could go back this weekend :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This 4 bedroom/2 bath cabin was the perfect fit for our couples get away. When you first walk into the cabin, you instantly feel relaxed. The decor and furniture is very cozy. You have the most breathe taking view of the lake from the dining room and living room. The weather was too work in August to make use of the fire place, but I am sure it would be great during the snowy winters in Tahoe. The kitchen was equipped with all the things we could possibly need, even a drawer full of various spices for cooking which made it really nice to prepare dinners at home. The cabin even comes with this great binder filled with information on hikes, must see things, and even restaurant menus in the area. We loved that Meek's Bay was only a few min drive away or a short walk down from the cabin. Meek's Bay is a really clean and large beach area of Tahoe Lake. We were able to rent kayaks and paddle boards during our stay. There is also a great little market down the street that had produce and drinks. The market also had a great deli there. We picked up sandwiches there every morning before we headed out to some of the hikes or for our lazy days at the beach. My boyfriend and I stayed in the "Moose room" It was very comfortable and we loved our entire stay. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to stay on the west shore of Tahoe. The location is really ideal, close to everything you could possibly want in Tahoe.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Best of Meeks 482 Sweatwater Dr, Meeks Bay, CA (347517) - Date of Stay July 29, 2012 Helpful votes:0/0. This is the best we have rented in over 35 Summers at Meeks Bay, the best place at Tahoe, which is the best place on the planet. Upscale everything, open concept, roomy, and your own blue jay and squirrels to eat breakfast with, watching the sun rise over the Lake, and the sunset from the big back deck. Its minutes to the beach, great hiking at the end of the street. We even had a visit from G-Ma with her walker (through the 2 car garage), up two steps to main floor kitchen/family room, deck, 2 bedrooms and full bath. The pictures don't do it justice, and we highly recommend Sweetwater (unless you want MY weeks). Dana and Dave were pleasant and responsive deservedly proud owners. Recommended for: Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, People with Disabilities, Romantic GetawayDid you find this review helpful? This cabin is so AMAZING!!! Completely remodeled- elegant and comfortable!! Gorgeous views of the lake with two decks. A perfect place for one to two families- kitchen opens to a beautiful living room with views, wide screen TV and fireplace. Close to Meeks Bay and Homewood! However, we also felt secluded and at peace with trees and area for our young children to play surrounding the cabin. Owners are very helpful and made sure we felt at home. I would highly recommend this cabin to friends and family!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: We purchased our home in 2009. We have been coming to the West Shore of Lake Tahoe for 40 years. We love to sit by the beach, hike, ski, and dig the snow off the bear box. Puzzles are an important part of every visit.
Why the Owner Chose Meeks Bay:
This side of the lake is peaceful, quaint with that old Tahoe feel. The location is close to all activities yet you feel away.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love to make ice cream in the summer, watch the fireworks from our deck, get Tahoma Market sandwiches, and watch the stars from the deck.
