We had a wonderful five nights over Christmas with our American family. The cabin has everything you could wish for in a holiday rental - and then some! The location is superb - quiet neighbourhood away from the highway, wonderful views of the lake and eastern shore, terrific sunsets, walks right out of the driveway. Inside the cabin is super comfortable with generous heating throughout, great beds, excellent bathrooms and towels, wonderful cooking facilities. We have had several Tahoe rentals, and this is by far the best. Thanks Dana for all your help in making the arrangements.

We took my mother-in-law up to celebrate her birthday. She and I arrived before the rest of the family and when we walked in the fireplace was on and we both fell in love with the cabin and how cozy it was. We had our dinner and enjoyed sitting in front of the fire just visiting. The next morning the sun was shining in the open-concept kitchen-living room and it was wonderful! Loved the views! The cabin is decorated very tastefully, the beds are comfy, beautifully remodeled bathrooms, thick towels, great kitchen amenities and very clean!! Our family loved it and are looking forward to a return visit next year. Dana was wonderful to work with and very accommodating. Without hesitation I highly recommend this cabin.

We can't say enough about our incredible stay at the Sweetwater Cabin, starting with the responsiveness and friendliness of the owner...from email, to additional photos to flexing our check in time so we could decorate for our sister's surprise 50th birthday. Dana was truly a pleasure to work with! The cabin is tastefully appointed and very comfortable...from the beds to the living areas and the well stocked kitchen. We found ourselves admiring all the finishing touches at every turn...right down to the log cabin style tissue box holder! The views are to die for and Mother Nature treated us to a full rainbow over beautiful Lake Tahoe after a short refreshing drizzle. We enjoyed the incredible views from both decks, the Master bedroom, the living area and even the shower!! Before we left we were already looking for a reason to come back. Thank you, Dana, for sharing your beautiful home with our family and for helping to make our celebration one we'll never forget!

We really enjoyed staying at the Sweetwater house. It is in a beautiful location with ocean view and smell of the pines. The amenities were very nice, great beds, linens, towels, and the kitchen was well equipped. At the same time the house was very warm and homey. Just a short drive to Meeks Bay, but far enough to be peaceful and relaxing. The owners are very responsive and accommodating. We would definitely stay there again!

Our family highly recommends this cabin to anyone who wants to stay in a beautiful cabin with excellent views. The décor of the cabin was lovely even down to the smallest detail. Waking up to views of the water from the Master bedroom was breathtaking. Our family looks forward to building many more Tahoe memories in this beautiful cabin.

We rent private homes 2-3 times per year and have to say that this is one, if not the, best experiences we have had. The cabin was immaculately clean and the owners obviously pay attention to details, like fresh bars of soap in the bathroom and a new scrub pad in the kitchen. We only used the microwave and coffee pot during our stay, since we mostly at wedding festivities in Meek's Bay, but I have no doubt that the kitchen has everything needed to cook. On top of that, the owner called before or stay to make sure everything was correctly set up and we received our deposit check within a week. I especially appreciated the well placed reading lights throughout the home. Views definitely were beautiful, beds were comfortable, there were plenty of towels and the decor was pleasant mountain cabin without overstatement. If I have to find a criticism, it is that my husband stepped on a raised nail head (only an annoyance with no injury) on the deck that has not yet been fully replaced. The other huge deck seems to have very new 'trex' flooring. Thanks for a great stay!

I was there last weekend with a few other people and had a fabulous time! The house is great with lots of room for 3+ couples, all the latest amenities and newly remodeled. Amazing kitchen and living room space with flat screen and lots of movies! The view out of the front windows of the lake and mountains is beautiful. Why even bother coming to Tahoe if you can't see the lake and from this place the lake is part of the view from everywhere in the house. Really close to get down to the beach, close to drive to restaurants and hiking. In fact some trails are accessible walking from the house. The house was clean and so nice! Wish I could go back this weekend :)

This 4 bedroom/2 bath cabin was the perfect fit for our couples get away. When you first walk into the cabin, you instantly feel relaxed. The decor and furniture is very cozy. You have the most breathe taking view of the lake from the dining room and living room. The weather was too work in August to make use of the fire place, but I am sure it would be great during the snowy winters in Tahoe. The kitchen was equipped with all the things we could possibly need, even a drawer full of various spices for cooking which made it really nice to prepare dinners at home. The cabin even comes with this great binder filled with information on hikes, must see things, and even restaurant menus in the area. We loved that Meek's Bay was only a few min drive away or a short walk down from the cabin. Meek's Bay is a really clean and large beach area of Tahoe Lake. We were able to rent kayaks and paddle boards during our stay. There is also a great little market down the street that had produce and drinks. The market also had a great deli there. We picked up sandwiches there every morning before we headed out to some of the hikes or for our lazy days at the beach. My boyfriend and I stayed in the "Moose room" It was very comfortable and we loved our entire stay. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to stay on the west shore of Tahoe. The location is really ideal, close to everything you could possibly want in Tahoe.

Best of Meeks 482 Sweatwater Dr, Meeks Bay, CA (347517) - Date of Stay July 29, 2012 Helpful votes:0/0. This is the best we have rented in over 35 Summers at Meeks Bay, the best place at Tahoe, which is the best place on the planet. Upscale everything, open concept, roomy, and your own blue jay and squirrels to eat breakfast with, watching the sun rise over the Lake, and the sunset from the big back deck. Its minutes to the beach, great hiking at the end of the street. We even had a visit from G-Ma with her walker (through the 2 car garage), up two steps to main floor kitchen/family room, deck, 2 bedrooms and full bath. The pictures don't do it justice, and we highly recommend Sweetwater (unless you want MY weeks). Dana and Dave were pleasant and responsive deservedly proud owners. Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 2009

About the owner: We purchased our home in 2009. We have been coming to the West Shore of Lake Tahoe for 40 years. We love to sit by the beach, hike, ski, and dig the snow off the bear box. Puzzles are an important part of every visit.

Why the Owner Chose Meeks Bay:
This side of the lake is peaceful, quaint with that old Tahoe feel. The location is close to all activities yet you feel away.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love to make ice cream in the summer, watch the fireworks from our deck, get Tahoma Market sandwiches, and watch the stars from the deck. We hope you have a great stay.
