My husband and I stayed at this condo for the weekend while in Wilmington to attend a wedding. It was absolutely perfect! It had the perfect amount of space for us. We really loved that there were 2 bathrooms. We both loved that the building was the old Chrysler dealership and the exposed beams and brick walls were especially nice. The skylight was nice but I forgot to close the shutter the first night and the light woke me a little too early. I closed it the second night and slept great. We also liked that we could park our car in the parking garage and walk everywhere we wanted to go. We hope that this condo will be available on our next trip to Wilmington!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My best friend from college and I spent a long weekend in Wilmington over spring break (teachers!), and had a wonderful time staying in Dan's condo. The condo was exactly as pictured, clean, and in excellent shape. Great kitchen, two bathrooms (which proved to be useful in the mornings), Roku on the television (so nice to watch a few things on Netflix before bed), just a 2-minute stroll down the block to the downtown area. Dan was always very responsive and great to rent from. We spent a couple days strolling the downtown area, getting coffee from Porty City Java, looking into shops, eating at a variety restaurants (Mixto and Elijah's were faves), and taking in the gorgeous views of the River. We also took a run every morning along the River Walk, which is a great and motivating spot for a jog! We also spent an afternoon in Wrightsville Beach, eating at the Oceanic, and doing a little sunning in the sand (though it was borderline too chilly). We were completed delighted with everything Wilmington had to offer, and Dan's condo, and it's perfect location, made it a great weekend for us.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My wife and I stayed here at the loft while we were in town for an extended period of time and I must say 5 stars still isn't good enough. It was very clean, very spacious, and tons of fun. The walk downtown is only a couple of minutes and there's so much to do. Dan was always available for questions or anything. Everything you need is at the loft. It'll be pretty easy to make yourself at home. The only thing I would change would be not writing this review right now because I'd still be downstairs on the couch.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Even with Hurricane Sandy, our stay in Wilmington was great! The bed was wonderfully comfortable and we especially enjoyed the skylight. We were very happy to find umbrellas in the closet, and when our travel plans home fell apart Dan was wonderfully accomodating.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

The description of the location was excellent. You are in the immediate downtown (close to Port Java) venue. The place was clean, well maintained and spacious. Dan was very responsive prior to the date of arrival and answered all of my questions. He forwarded an attached list of directions, restaurant info and tips on how to make the stay that much better. I would recommend the Copper Penny Cafe, great beer, sandwiches, and service. If you chose to engage in running for fitness, the river walk area can give you a well protected, smooth path along the dock, waterway and throught the downtown area. We also hit the local brewery on the main drag as well. Good beer but the AC was on high... Take a day trip to Wrightsville Beach and Southport. Both are very nice communities with nuances of their own. Wrightsville has a great fresh and healthy establishment called tower 7. Southport is a less urban, family type of town, right on the water as well. They had their first annual wooden boat show which was a hoot... Parking on the street is free til 9 a.m. Then its free after 6 p.m. Most of the time we chose the street because the garage is a tad tight to navigate. All in all, a great time, cool loft experience (my first). we will be back. Thanks Dan...Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

This loft is exactly like the pictures! And what you cant see in the pictures is how awesome the location is!!!! My boyfriend & I were in town for a wedding that took place downtown and we did not need a car once we arrived! (obviously if you are going to the beach you would need it!) Riverfront is a safe few blocks away walk, one of the mornings we even went for a run along the water! LOTS of great restaurants/watering holes to choose from (The Basics for brunch, Chops for sandwiches, Dock St Oyster Bar was a cute hole in the wall seafood & beer type place, we even had pizza delivered from Gumbys late one night- dont think thats a norm for them to deliver so dont hold me to it but the pizza was surprisingly fantastic!) More than enough space & very comfortable! Big kitchen is a plus if you are in town long! You need a key to get into the building so I felt very safe! Downtown Wilmington has so much history and is so beautiful! Dt is awesome, he gave us great directions/instructions/reccomendations through email & text! Communication and arriving/leaving was a breeze- Thanks dt!!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Stayed here for 5 days. Great loft, and great location. The pictures are very representative of the loft (as much as any photo can be.) Very comfortable and a great place to come back to to unwind from the day. It is also in a great location situated in downtown Wilmington, walking distance to some great restaurants and shops. Be sure to try The Basics (wondeful), and stop in at Old Books on Front Street.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: My wife and I are freelance writers who chose to move from San Francisco to Wilmington 10+ years ago and have never looked back. We love the beach and the river; the ocean is 85 degrees in summer. If you've never been here before, you're in for a treat.
Why the Owner Chose Wilmington:
Downtown Wilmington is a very hip, happening place. There are two dozen great restaurants and a dozen live music venues within five blocks (yet our property is extremely quiet). It's got the third largest historical district in the southeast (after Charleston and Savannah) and for our money, the nicest. It's great to be able to go out at night in the summer when Wilmington is hopping and not have to worry about finding a parking spot or driving home. And if you're here for the beach, it's a nice way to get away from the sand and surf at night.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Stroll two blocks to the Riverwalk and enjoy the incredible views of the Cape Fear River. Take a horse-drawn carriage through one of the largest and prettiest historical districts in the country, home to both Revolutionary and Civil War heroes. Take a water taxi across the Cape Fear to tour the USS North Carolina, a decommissioned WWII era battleship. Enjoy free concerts every weekend in summer along the waterfront. Drive out to Wrightsville Beach (25 mins) and enjoy 85 degree water and 10 miles of pristine sand; you can surf, parasail, or jet ski. Take a sail along the Intracoastal waterway or kayak through gorgeous unspoiled marshland. Dive WWII era wrecks and sunken artificial reefs within 45 minutes of shore. There are half a dozen great golf courses and amusement areas within a short drive as well. An easy two block stroll to Wilmington's rockin' nightlife along Front Street and the river. You won't be bored.
