Our family stayed there last weekend, and the place is perfect for a family or romantic getaway. The owner, John, and the manager Juan Carlos were extremely accommodating. The place is within a small resort right on the top of the hill that leads to MA park. It is within the walking distance from the best restaurants that MA has to offer, yet extremely quiet and private. We had all kinds of wildlife pass through, including white faced monkeys, tepesquinte, great selection of birds that actually live on the property. No need to even go to the park. Park comes to you.

We are four older adults who had just completed a 10-day tour of Costa Rica and wanted a place to relax. Villa Titi was good for that. We had some trouble getting in touch with the manager but he was very helpful once we did. There were more steps to get to the condo than we had realized since it is at the back of a hotel complex. Luckily we were all in decent shape and could handle it although getting our luggage back and forth was a chore. Anyone with physical problems might need to think twice. Overall we really enjoyed our stay there and loved the restaurant next door, The Falls. El Avion was good for sunsets but not for margaritas. Go to Gaia if you want good drinks and sunsets. We enjoyed the Manuel Antonio Nat'l Park and saw lots of animals. Also saw lots of monkeys and agouri right at the condo. We especially enjoyed the Rain Forest Aerial Tram over near Jaco. It's a drive but well worth it.

Villa Titi was the perfect place for our family of four to stay will visiting Manuel Antonio. We had plenty of space with our two teenage girls staying upstairs. It is very quiet and backs right up to the forest. It was a perfect place to come back to after spending the day at the beach or at the National Park. We both drove to the beach as well as took the bus. I think taking the bus was easier, they run every half hour. Umbrella and beach chairs for $10 are well worth it. The park is beautiful (note that it is closed on Mondays). We saw sloth's, lizards, crab eating raccoons, howler monkeys and lots of white faced monkeys. We enjoyed breakfast at Cafe Milagro which is a 10 minute walk up the hill. One morning white face monkeys came and visited us there. We highly recommend dinner at sunset at Barba Raja. The food was great, the service and music was wonderful and the view was simply incredible. Steve also provided us with a great list of places to eat and see. Having a local contact with Juan Carlos makes staying at Villa Titi very easy. He met us when we first got there to let us in and also helped set up a snorkeling trip for us. Overall, I would definitely recommend Villa Titi as a place to stay when going to Manuel Antonio. It was a great "home away from home" for us!

Our family of five had a great time at villa titi. My husband and I enjoyed our coffee on the patio, the kids loved the pool (perfect temperature), and one morning we got to see 30+ monkeys in the trees right outside our door. Two monkeys jumped on the upstairs patio and hung out about 2 feet away from us. Amazing! The location is perfect and Juan Carlos was fantastic- so helpful and welcoming. You can go to the beach, visit the national park, relax.. Whatever. The airplane restaurant across the street has good food and an incredible view of the sunset (plus you get to listen to the howler monkeys.) We really enjoyed our time in Manuel Antonio.

My family (husband and kids ages 20,18,16) spent Thanksgiving week at Villa Titi. We would definitely return again. The property feels like it plunked right down inside a jungle, and yet it is in a safe environment, and easy walking distance to many wonderful restaurants and shops. The grounds were meticulously maintained, the pool was clean and welcoming. The home itself was a perfect size for our family of five. Both the owners and Juan were helpful answering questions we had while planning our trip.

This is a great, very comfortable vacation house. We were 4 people, 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs. The 2 units are part of the same house but yet very well separated so 2 couples can easily share the house and both have plenty of comfort and privacy. Each unit has A/C, new TV, internet, private terrace, full bathroom, separate entrance from outside but there are stairs inside that link them. The upstairs unit has enough to make coffee and breakfast and also has a fridge so if you are an early bird you don't have to come downstairs to start your day. The place feels safe, is quiet and clean. Being part of a hotel gives it a bit less privacy because you have other similar little houses around but at the same time there are many advantages to being part of the hotel. Beautiful well maintained tropical gardens, don't feel isolated, access to 2 very attractive pools, every other day room service (they replace the towels, sheets, clean the place and do your dishes. No beach towels, soap but no shampoo/cond.) There is a local contact that will welcome you and will give you all the info you need. The house is also well located. You have several restaurants within walking distance. The beach and the entrance to the park are about 20mn downhill by foot. There are taxis and buses for cheap if you don't want to walk. Quepos itself doesn't have much to offer besides the Saturday morning market. I would recommend renting a car. The cost will be about the same as if you took a mini bus transportation from and to San Jose. Driving is easy and you have a lot more freedom to do whatever you like whenever you want. Don't miss the whale tour in Uvita and the incredible beach of Dominicalito. About an hour away by car. Manuel Antonio national park is really beautiful. We walked every single trails including the one leading to the water fall. Bring your beach attire and your lunch so you can spend the whole day there. No real need for a guide as far as seeing the wild life, whenever there is a monkey or large iguana in a tree you often have a small gathering looking at it. As far as the rain during the rainy season (such as right now), it rained everyday but 6 days out of 7, the rain didn't start until later in the afternoon so you have plenty a time to go through your day and enjoy a partly clouded or full sun sky. Anyway, great place to stay!

We loved the Casita Titi and the accommodations. It was perfect for the two of us and gave us more than enough room because we rented both the lower and upper rooms. We only really used the lower area and kitchen. The terrace patios gave us nice views of the surrounding tropical forest and wildlife and one evening we saw about 30 Titi monkeys and about 30 White Faced monkeys all around us. We enjoyed the pool each night all to ourselves probably because we traveled in the rainy season which means get your sun tanning in early in the day and the clouds cool you off in the afternoon. It is in a perfect location with lots of restaurants within walking distance and the bus stop just across the street. Some days we drove to the beach and others we rode the bus. Make sure to visit the Friday night/Saturday farmers market in Quepos for the very best mangos, papayas, pineapples, etc for making frozen fruit drinks.

We rented the lower level of the Villa for 5 days. It was everything we had read online and more. We loved getting up in the morning and having coffee/breakfast in a nice quiet atmosphere while watching the monkeys and wildlife around the Villa. The shared pool was clean and refreshing. The maid (Amelia) came every second day to clean, the manager Juan was very helpful and when the gardener worked around the villa we didnt even hear him.The TV didnt work while we were there but no biggie, we played cards and read while listening to the radio. We walked to the Super Joseth for groceries as we didnt have a car. It was just a 1/2 hour walk there and back. Perfect exercise. The beach is about a 20 minute walk down hill. We didnt walk back but decided to take a taxi for 5$. Well worth it!While there we went on the Sunset Sail tour. We had the best time ever!We got to have a great dinner, sunset and got to see dolphins. It was amazing. I would recommend anyone to stay at this location if they want to spend some quiet time. We are planning on returning next year. The owners of the villa are working hard to maintain this place. I thought the bed was comfortable. The only thing missing during our stay that would have been handy are scissors and a can opener. But that didnt ruin our vacation one bit. Thanks John for sharing your piece of paradise with us. Hope to return next year. Nancy

We stayed for three nights and the location was great. The condo itself is a little tired. Had all the necessary ammenities, etc. - just needed a bit of sprucing up - no color and sort of ratty bedspreads. It would not take a lot to make it a spectacular place (I was redecorating in my mind!!). However, it was clean and sitting on the patio was the highlight of our day after we got home from touring, etc.. We saw a Ferruginious Pigmy-owl and three gorgeous Blue-crowned Motmots while sitting outside. Plus, countless white faced monkeys roam the trees around the development. Across the road there is a GREAT place for an evening drink. Didn't eat there but food was probably OK. We thoroughly enjoyed meals (2) at Villa Nicholas and Kapi-Kapi (expensive but wonderful). One word of warning about Kapi-Kapi - I ordered a glass of Chardonay HOUSE WINE and when the bill came the charge was $16.00. I asked why it was so expensive and he said that they didn't have a Chardonay house wine so he gave me another Chardonay - however, he didn't tell me that when I ordered.

Owner response: Thank you Susan for your review. My partner and I have just returned from two weeks at Villa Titi and we took down Sunbrella "Tropical" fabric for new pillows for the house. We also spent a lot of time driving around San Jose looking for new bedspreads, which we found and purchased (see the latest photos on the VRBO website). It is a constant effort in the tropics to have every look fresh and new.

What a wonderful, secure and peaceful corner of the world. we had such a terrific time. the owners have really done a great job in keeping the residence up to date, both with the electronics and the furniture. the surrounding area is full of wild life. the beach is just a short drive or a leisure walk from the home. Villa Titi was a great place for our family to begin each days adventures! You can walk the .5 mile to the beach, take the bus, or taxi. All are easy. Plenty of good food, two grocery stores close by, a laundry list of activities for all ages and interests. Try Sanchos taqueria(tacoria). Fish tacos and wet burrito were awesome!! Would stay here again and HIGHLY recommend it as a great place to stay!!

The complex in which Villa Titi is located is called "Hotel Casitas Eclipse" and is a 15-minute walk to the beach of Manuel Antonio and a half-hour bus ride to the town of Quepos. The "Hotel Eclipse" compound consists of 12-odd two-story houses ("casitas") on well-landscaped grounds that have nice plants and wildlife. The casita where we stayed, Villa Titi, was clean, secure, quiet, safe, comfortable, and VERY quiet which was nice. The casita is in the rear of the complex, away from the street, which makes it a very nice location. The place is spacious place and the downstairs is perfect for a couple with plenty of room for relaxing and hanging out, both in the living room area and on the spacious patio. The wired Internet connection and telephone worked well as did the cable TV (we couldn't get Wifi to work). There is air conditioning (that we didn't use) and ceiling fans over the bed and in the living room kept the place a nice temperature. The bathroom has a large shower and there was decent hot water. We didn't use the upstairs section but it seems like it might be a little small as a separate unit since it doesn't have a kitchen. We would recommend that a couple stay downstairs and if you have more people then rent both the downstairs and the upstairs together. If money is tight and you are more than just a couple, the downstairs could sleep up to four with two in the bedroom section and two sleeping on the living room couch areas. We enjoyed Villa Titi, but the place could use a little updating (maybe a new stove, a new TV, and repairing of the window screens so you can keep all the windows open without the bugs and lizards getting in. Overall it's a good value and the U.S.-based owner (John) and the local manager (Juan Carlos) and cleaning lady were welcoming, responsive and helpful. We were happy spending a week at Villa Titi and we recommend staying there!

Villa Titi is perfectly situated atop the "Hill" in Manuel Antonio. As a single traveler, I wanted a home for my twelve day stay in Manuel Antonio during the 2010 Christmas season. The home I rented was exactly as seen and decsribed on the vrbo.com website. Villa Titi sits in a tropical garden within the Hotel Eclipse grounds. In every direction colour, light and life abound. Whether it is in the early morning sitting outside on the patio sipping exquisite CostaRican coffee or during the afternoon siesta there are always birds ,butterflies, or mono titis with which to keep company. Steve and John offer a comfortable home that immediately becomes your own. Being atop the Hill in Maual Antonio Titi is in the midst of restauants, spas, shops which are comparable to Northern American cities; yet, it is immediately adjacent to Manuel Antonio National Park and completely enveloped in this natural and spectacular paradise. From the hotel or restaurant patios the open vistas of the Pacific Ocean are breathingly genuine. Sunset is a true gift!! The natural sightseeing or adventure package abound. I, on the other hand, enjoyed the quite walks down to and up from the beach which is often uncrowded outside of peak season times. The sun's constant display during the "Summer" season (North America's winter) draws me again and again to Manuel Antonio where I can relax and regenerate on the warm sands and in the warm Pacific waters. Villa Titi's tranquil ambient and secure surroundings added to my regeneration. Being able to set my own pace in my individual surroundings at Titi versus any local hotel was what I hoped I would acheive by renting this private home. And, Villa Titi provides privacy and easy access to all amenities of the Manuel Antonio/Quepos area. If I wanted to prepare my own meals I did so. If I wanted delicious restaurant prepared fare I walked across the road to great food and awe-inspiring vistas of the tropical canopy and the Pacific Ocean. I have booked the next trip to Manuel Antonio for 2012 and I will be using Vila Titi as my home home too.

The rental is located on top of the hill at Manuel Antonio, inside the Villas Eclipse compound, you can use the hotel amenities and have support from the staff, parking is secure and walking distance to very nice restaurants. I rented the first floor with full kitchen, queen bed, AC , wifi and cable TV . The rental is very clean and well maintained,it is a so much better experience than staying at a hotel, if you like the home away from home feeling, since you can cook and prepare your own meals and drinks, it has an outdoor dinner table and a small coffee table lounge area. My girlfriend loved the big bathroom area and that is very quiet and private, nothing of the hustle and bustle of regular hotels, I would definitely recommend the unit to my friends and relatives and excellent option for a romantic getaway. I am looking forward to go back there and so far it is the best option I found in Manuel Antonio. The owner's local landlord is very helpful and all my questions were addressed in a timely manner, a satisfied customer definitely.

I have stayed at Villa Titi on 3 separate week long vacations. My 4th trip is already booked. The Villa is a comfortable and quiet get-away, yet convenient to the beach, great restaurants, and many Costa Rican adventures. The Villa is a separate detached home, located on the grounds of a hotel, so you have added amenities, such as several beautiful swimming pools. After a fun day on the beach, you can enjoy an afternoon drink on the covered porch while watching the little monkeys swing around the trees picking mangoes. The house is comfortable and well equipped. The lower level is perfect for a couple or a couple with a child. You have a nice kitchen in addition to the bed, bath, and living areas. I like to stock the kitchen from the local market on my first day there. It's great being able to prepare your own breakfast, lunch, or snacks. For dinners I love to try the nearby restaurants. If you are traveling with 2 couples (4 adults), I recommend both the upper and lower levels of the Villa. The upper level adds another full bedroom, bathroom, covered porch and it's own outdoor entrance. This area of Costa Rica is amazing and the local people are wonderful. Villa Titi is always offered at what I feel are very reasonable rates. I can't wait for my next trip.
