My husband and I stayed four nights at this comfortable three bedroom pool home while we reconnected with childhood friends in the area. Having the fully equipped kitchen for those days was economical and fun. Sitting out by the very private pool with our coffee and muffins in the mornings was delightful and that it was on a quiet street was a bonus. The owners pay attention to detail and make sure that all the creature comforts are covered. Thanks so much for saving us from the cramped hotel chain rooms.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

This was a great house! It had everything that we could want while we were in Deland visiting relatives all for a good price. The description was very accurate as were the photographs. The property was really well maintained and nicely decorated. Beds and furniture were comfortable. The outside decor and landscaping were beautiful. The screened in pool/porch area were wonderful. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. The owners were really helpful with the few questions that we had. We are planning to come back next year for our annual Deland stay and would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in or near Deland. The owners had a great file of attractions and restaurants. Deland doesn't have a whole lot going on but there are a few museums and restaurants that are good. It's about 45 minutes to Orlando and about the same to New Smyrna Beach which expands the number of things to do. Note: although there are 4 TV sets, there are only 2 cable boxes so you can really only watch 2 different programs which wasn't a big deal but was noticed by the 2 teenagers in our family. Also, because the pool is solar heated, it can take a while for the water to be warm enough for us northerners to be able to swim.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.

What a nice surprise and a gem of a location! My husband and I stayed in this lovely home in a quiet neighborhood for several days while attending some events in nearby Daytona Beach. It was a quick (15-20 minute) drive to the Daytona area without the noise and traffic associated with the track and beach. The best part was the beautiful screened in pool and outside bar area. Nice backyard with beautiful lush (and very private) landscaping. Pet friendly. Great landlords who added some personal touches. Thanks so much. Would definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children.

Great place for couples or families, very clean and neat, owners are great if any problems they take care of it now. Town of Deland and area offers things for everyone, only 20 minutes to the beach and about an hour from disney and theme parks. A great place to stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.

We stayed here for 10 days in August of 2012, and it was a perfect location and home for our needs as a family of 4 with two kids ages 3 & 5. The home is immaculately kept, as is the pool and backyard, and the owner is just a phone call and few streets away should you need anything. We will definitely plan to stay here again on our next visit to the DeLand area.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We are packing to go home. This is our last day here and we enjoyed every day of our stay. Everything was as advertised. The home is immaculately clean. The pool was warm and very clean. If you could think of something you might need, it was already provided for. We made our own breakfasts and stores, such as Winn Dixie, Wal Mart, etc. were very close. Every day we had a fish dinner. Aunt Catfish was great, less than two miles away. JJ's Lobster Pot, straight west on 44, well we visited it twice, since it was really good. Twenty minutes to the east on 92 is the Daytona Flea Market. We go there every time we are in the area. We continue on to the Port Orange Bridge and visit the Deck Down Under, right under the bridge, every time we are in the area. We also spent part of a day in downtown Deland at the antiques shops, and went for a great river cruise on the Blue Heron River Cruises at Hontoon Landing. This home was so well suited for our needs, and has such a great location, we were really lucky to book here. Did I mention the owners are really nice people too!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children.

Enjoyed our stay so much we reserved a month next year! The home is lovely, clean, and well equipped. DeLand was fun for us: Zumba, library, bakery, Greek food, Steton University, close to FL relatives. Took a guided kayak tour of St John River (just the two of us), also went to Hontoon Island, several trips to New Smyrna and national park. Very much enjoyed the backyard and pool lanai. Only complaint: the pool is beautiful, enticing, but the water temperature never went above 76 degrees. Good for running in place!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I stayed at this house in Jan-Feb of 2012. It is a lovely home - very clean and tastefully decorated, fully equipped with all the necessities of home. The owner lives close by and stopped in frequently to check/fill the pool. The house is located on a safe street, in a small town with a lot going on. It is centrally located to several large cities the ocean, and yet also close to state forests and waterways. It is a good base for exploring this part of Flordia or just enjoying the good weather. I highly recommend this home!! You won't be disappointed.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+.

We wanted a quiet town and comfortable home and found both here. We especially liked the private back yard with the pool. The kids loved the Reptile Discovery Center and also liked the boat ride at Hontoon Landing. As far as restaurants, we used the kitchen and ate outside, but had dinner at Bellini's one night and would go back again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2006
About the owner: I am a California transplant who works in the defense industry in Orlando. I am somewhat compulsive about cleanliness so you will find my home as clean as any first class hotel. My girlfriend is a realtor so she will try to anticipate any need you may have. We have collected brochures, menues, from all the local establishments to give you an idea of what is in the area. Any questions you have will be readily answered as we are in the area.
Why the Owner Chose De Land:
DeLand is the real thing! Nowadays you see many developments building 'town centers'. We already have a historic downtown area, with outdoor cafes, pocket parks, and regular festivals and events downtown almost every weekend. We are in the vacinity of many beautiful state parks (Lake Woodruff wildlife refuge, DeLeon Springs , Blue Springs, Ocala National Forest, Cannaveral Seashore. Daytona Speedway is 20 minutes away. Why fight the traffic of Daytona when you can stay here? Orlando airport is a mere hour away by way of a traffic free toll road.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
At our home you can wake up to hear the birds singing on a beautiful clear day. While lazing in the pool, you can see the skydivers parachutes opening and they descend to the local airport a few miles from the home. If you want to get a closer look, go to one of the restaurants at the 'port' and watch the skydivers land right in front of you. YOu can also boat on the St. Johns river or one of the beautiful lakes in the area.
