If you are looking for a remote, Colorado mountain getaway with incredible views to enjoy the beauty that nature has to offer, yet be close enough to some of the action - this is the place!
Eagle's Views is about taking time out during your day to listen to the forest, be with the ones you love, sit on the deck at night, and watch how the mountains change while the sun is setting. In addition, it is getting up early and going for a long morning walk and watching wildlife stir as you walk by.
Eagle's Views is a stunning, Appalachian log-style, luxury hideaway cabin nestled in the Arapaho National Forest in the Rocky Mountains between Black Hawk and Nederland on Highway 119.
The warm and bright floor plan contains three bedrooms with a king-size, queen-size, and double bed with an extra queen-size sleeper sofa in the great room. Two full baths, a fully-functional kitchen, a beautiful sunroom with a wood-burning potbelly stove, satellite television with crystal-clear connections with two televisions, and easy access to main roads. In addition, for those visitors needing to be in touch, the cabin has three phone lines. One will be turned on already as a voice line, and the other two can be turned on for an additional charge for a fax or internet connection.
There are numerous hiking trails within a 20-minute drive from Eagle's View and multiple hiking maps are provided for our guests in the cabin. There is a fully-stocked private pond one-quarter of a mile from our cabin for the residents in our area. Fishing passes are provided for our guests and are located in the cabin.
Eagle’s Views is close to everything! It is about one and a half hours from Denver International Airport, one hour from downtown Denver, five minutes to Black Hawk, eleven miles to Eldora Ski Resort, 90 minutes to Breckenridge, 90 minutes to Estes Park, close to Loveland Ski Resort, and less than 10 minutes to Golden Gate State Park.
Golden Gate Canyon State Park: (Seven minutes away) Encompasses 14,000 acres of hiking, picnicking, and camping among dense forest, rocky peaks, and aspen-filled meadows. Several ponds offer good trout fishing. Mountain splendor awaits seven minutes from the cabin at Golden Gate Canyon State Park! Wildflower meadows, glorious autumn colors, and a spectacular view from the famous Panorama Point of over 100 miles of the Continental Divide make Golden Gate Canyon State Park ideal for sightseers and photographers. Climate - The elevations in Golden Gate Canyon Park range from 7,400 to 10,300 feet. The high elevations experience quickly-changing weather, for which all visitors need to be prepared. Warm summer mornings can quickly turn to cold, damp afternoons. The atmosphere during the late summer months is usually unstable bringing thunder, lightning, and cold rain to the mountains by late afternoon. Hats, gloves, and long sleeves are necessary during the summer as well as winter.
Black Hawk: (Five minutes away) Has limited-stakes gaming and casinos such as Riviera, Isle of Capri, Harvey’s, and Harrah’s. This is a great place to go if you like to gamble or participate in any of the numerous all-you-can-eat buffets serving everything from prime rib to fresh shrimp and crab legs.
Eldora: Eldora, open since 1962, is skiing, snowboarding, cross-country, and snowshoe friendly! Eldora receives 300 inches of snow per year and boasts Colorado's best snowmaking system. Coverage is 100% of groomed terrain, more than any other resort in Colorado! The base area of Eldora has an elevation of 9,300 feet above sea level. Top elevation is 10,800 feet. The most difficult mountain to ski at Eldora is the Corona Bowl - a double black diamond! Eldora is only 21 miles from Boulder, 47 miles from Denver, and 11 miles from the cabin. Eldora's Super Pipe is 17 feet tall! Eldora has 680 acres of ski-able terrain and the longest run is three miles long!
Central City Opera House: The 1878 Central City Opera House, built by Welsh and Cornish miners, is the most recognized of Central City Opera's Historic Properties within the Central City/Black Hawk National Landmark Historic District. The Opera House is known for its elaborately-frescoed ceiling, seats carved with the names of Colorado's pioneer families and notables of the American stage and opera, and its perfect acoustics. In addition to the Opera House, Central City Opera Historic Properties include the Williams Stables, used for rehearsals and intimate performances, and the Teller House. This 1872 hotel next door to the Opera House is a living museum of Victorian artifacts and furniture once belonging to Baby Doe Tabor and Governor John Evans. The ground floor of the Teller House also houses a period bar with "The Face on the Barroom Floor" painting. Central City Opera also owns and maintains 28 other historic buildings including 25 residences, built in Central City between 1860 and 1900. These properties, which fall outside of the Central City gaming district, have been the Association's responsibility since 1932. For 67 years they have housed company operations, performers, and technicians during the summer opera festival.
