The home was very clean and welcoming. I especially liked the eclectic decor. It fit our family perfectly (my husbands parents, us, and our two young kids). With a sweet note on the front table and yummy “cowboy cookies” waiting for us in the kitchen, Nancy made sure we felt welcome from the moment we walked in. The living room was comfortable with all of the regular amenities, but it was the interior design that made it so much fun. (I wish I had the decorating gene. Nancy is going to help me find a few cool Texas tid-bits so we’ll have memories of our trip in our own home.) The kitchen was tidy and easy to use, the dining room large enough for our group to sit and eat together. We only used the back two bedrooms, but having the third would be great if our little one was older and could sleep on her own! Both queen-sized beds were comfortable. The master bedroom is beautiful and the attached bath was like walking in to a home spa. Having that suite was nice for our friends to have a space of their own, away from the baby. I loved the hall bath with the old-fashioned built-in dirty clothes hamper (weird, I know. It was nice to be able to put our pile out of site even if only for a few hours) but it was the shower pressure that had me. WOW! I could have stayed in there all day. The back yard is totally rocked out with a fire pit, covered deck (with twinkling white lights) and enough seating for everyone. Having chickens on site was neat. The ‘girls’ didn’t make as much as much noise as I thought they might and the fresh eggs were ah-mazing! Location, location and location! Being so close to the interstate made me a little nervous but we barely heard traffic noise and it was a great starting point for our day trips. I also loved that we could walk to the food trucks and shopping center in the Mueller District. I felt like a local. As a new mom, I also really liked having the Children’s Hospital literally right around the corner. Needless to say, we loved our time there and really hope we can visit again. PS- I didn’t give the property five stars because Nancy said herself that there are things she still wants to do for her guests.
