Susan and Rolf were gracious hosts, entertaining my husband and son until I arrived a few days later. My son loved watching the hockey game with Rolf!!! The magnificent views from the rooftop patio are superb. We spent a great deal of time enjoying the ocean and island views. Great location, minutes by car to the Stella Maris pool/resort. The breeze upstairs through the kitchen and dining area was refreshing throughout the hot days(lots of windows), keeping us cool throughout the hot days. The washer/dryer in the residence was very handy and the bedrooms very roomy. The spiral staircase may be tricky with small children, but our children are older so we were fine. We miss the island already and wish we were at Sunset Residence right now-watching the sunset.......Owner response: We enjoyed meeting you and your wonderful family. We also are pleased the house worked well for you and look forward to your return. The spiral staircase can be a challenge ...we agree. It's a very good thing there is no need to carry suitcases upstairs :)

The Sunset Residence gave me a chance to reconnect with my family, and disconnect from the daily stress of every day life with two small children. The home is so tastefully decorated that it was wonderful to watch the children decide which bedroom would be theirs. I worried about my 3 month old baby, and whether or not his "wake up calls" would wake up my sister & her children. However, that was not the case at all. Due to the unique design of the home, the only person he awoke was me. In the evening, my sister and I were able to reconnect upstairs while our children peacefully slept downstairs. Each morning, the views encouraged us to get out & enjoy Long Island; waking up to almost 360 degree views of pristine waters will do that to anyone! Long Island provided us with such an array of activities; even with an infant, we were able to do so much. So sincerely grateful to have had the time to watch cousins play together while I reconnected with my sister in a home as beautiful as The Sunset Residence.Owner response: Ah, dear Bridget......We were thrilled that you enjoyed the house and Long Island.

We spent two weeks in the sunset residence on Long Island. The house is very spacious and offers a terrific view on the sea (view on both sides of the island, i.e. Atlantic and Carribean). We can recommend this house without hesitation. Long Island is the perfect hideaway from everyday life: beautiful deserted beaches, crystal clear water, nice snorkeling spots, lovely people and, and, and… We loved it so much that we will try to come back as soon as possible!Owner response: Thank you for your kind words ... we loved watching you enjoy Long Island.
