Chester's Creekside cabin is nestled in a cool 4000 foot elevation in the heart of the Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina. Enter the driveway to the cabin next to 500 feet of split rail fencing under an umbrella of dogwoods. Arrive upon the tall white pines and hemlocks surrounding the cabin.
Relax while sitting on the rockers on the front porch enjoying the secluded view overlooking a rushing creek dappled with rhododendrons. Drop a line in the creek which is stocked with trout four times a year, feed the birds, or just view the wildlife.
The charming French Country and American Country decor features a spacious woodburning fireplace encompassed by river rock. The bright kitchen is roomy and fully stocked. Park your car under the carport. Enjoy the pleasant view of the creek, and forest from the large back sunroom.
Two bedrooms on opposite sides of the cabin offer their own bathrooms, with a trundle daybed in another part of the cabin converting to two twin beds or one king size bed. All linens, washer and dryer, iron, and ironing board are provided.
Follow the creek down the easily accessible road and within five minutes you are at the Smoky Mountain Country Club offering unique 18 holes with breathtaking views. The course and restaurant are open to the public. Follow the creek up the road and you are five minutes from the National Forest with great biking and hiking opportunities.
Within fifteen minutes away, adventures you can expect include traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway through the Smoky Mountain National Park where photo opportunities abound. Nearby rivers offer the best whitewater rafting in the eastern part of the U.S. The Great Smoky Railroad offers trips across the fascinating Fontana trestle, dam, and lake.
Spend a half day shopping in the quaint shops lining the streets of nearby Dillsboro. Take a chance and gamble in the renowned Harrah's Casino in Cherokee. The Biltmore and Ashville are an hour from the cabin as are Dollywood and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. |
