But with a car the descent is easy, and whenever you feel like leaving this villa in Greece you'll find yourself in lovely Skopelos, or at any number of lovely beaches.
North-east of Evia between Skiathos and Alonnisos, 60 miles from Volos, lies the green island Skopelos of the Sporades Group. It owes its name to the alternating cliffs and sandy beaches which encircle the island almost like a garland. The main town, also called Skopelos, has a lively harbor and narrow, steep lanes with pretty white houses with their original grey shingle roofs. In the north-west of the island is the picturesque fishing village of Glossa, with its harbor Loutraki. This is the first stop of the ferry that makes its way from Volos and Skiathos. The island of Skopelos is under the special protection of the European and Greek environmental authorities and has therefore remained a paradise for nature lovers. Pine forests reach down to sandy beaches. GETTING THERE: Fly to Thessaloniki or Skiathos and then take the hydrofoil from Skiathos to Skopelos. The hydrofoils are very frequent during high season, with approximately 15 departures between 7:00AM and 8:00PM. Tickets can be bought on arrival in Skiathos. The villa is situated in complete seclusion, high above the town of Skopelos. The beautiful views over the town below reach as far as the neighboring island of Alonnisos. LOCATION: Skopelos 4.5 KM; 8 - 10 KM to sandy beach. Numerous sandy beaches are a few minutes away by car.
The house is built into a hillside and has two floors.Upper floor: There is a modern, fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher) leading out onto a small terrace with a built-in barbecue. A large dining room connects directly to the open kitchen. Two steps further down is the spacious living room with open fireplace, TV and stereo. From here French doors open onto a balcony.Lower level: Two double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, are located on the lower floor. In addition, there is a large terrace surrounding a well-maintained swimming pool. The third double bedroom, with its ensuite bathroom, is reached from this terrace. Parking. Maid service is included once per week, and linens and towels are changed once a week. Additional maid service is available upon request for an extra charge.
