Perfect for a group of friends, extended family vacation or special retreat, this large chateau is ideally situated to explore the Loire Valley and experience France in one of the finest examples of neo-classical architecture in the country. The chateau is built of limestone in 1760, is located on the edge of a charming quiet village. The spectacular gardens, lake and woods with trails throughout, as well as the 18th century architectural elements of the chateau will transport you to the late 1700’s… and yet, the comfort of the 21st century provides the comfort of today. (30 hectares) Enclosed by a wall, the front entrance of the chateau has a formal courtyard and formal gardens all around the rear of the chateau. Less formal gardens with fountains are at another level, as well as a lake and woods with trails. There are a number of tables that can be used for outdoor entertaining, and there is also a propane gas barbecue. The private circular swimming pool has a diameter of 6 meters and is 2 meters deep. It is heated and can be used whenever the weather is appropriate. There is ample parking for at least 20 automobiles in the rear courtyard.
(3000m2) The chateau is magnificently adorned with exquisite 18th century architectural elements, museum quality art and furnishings throughout. At the same time, it has a central heating system with two very large fuel gas heaters. Every room has several radiators. There is an elevator between the garden level and first floor. Main Floor: The main floor has 12 steps leading up to it and has a large entry hall, grand salon, secondary salon, large dining room, small dining room, kitchen, pantry, library/television room and two powder rooms. An elevator goes from the ground level (outside) to the main level (inside) and on to the first floor for handicapped access. All of the main floor rooms have a fireplace. The large dining table seats 22 people and the small dining table seats 12 people. First Floor: There are two staircases to the first floor as well as access via the large elevator. On the first floor there is a very large hallway with sofas, chairs, bookcases, etc. Each of the nine bedrooms opens onto the hallway. All of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms with showers. Four of the bathrooms also have a bathtub. The bedrooms are all double bedrooms. Four of the bedrooms have king-size (180 cm mattress) beds and three of the bedrooms have queen-size (160 cm mattress) beds. One of the bedrooms has a standard double (140 cm mattress) bed (considered by some to be cozy for two!). It has a separate sitting room and television). The last bedroom on the first floor has two single (100 cm mattress) twin-beds. Second Floor: There is a staircase to the second floor but no elevator. Two bedrooms are located on this level. One bedroom has two single (100 cm mattress) twin-beds and a bathroom with shower located across the hall. One bedroom has a king-size bed (180 cm mattress), a separate dressing room and an ensuite bathroom with shower and bathtub.
