not really clean house
1. The cabin was not clean 2. We paid 120$ for linens, however beds were not made, linens were really hard to find and they were not really clean. I think condition of this cabin is not really acceptable.

Marvel the giant Sierra Redwoods in this beautiful park. Calaveras Big Trees State Park became a state park in 1931 to preserve the North Grove of giant sequoias. This grove includes the "Discovery Tree", the first Sierra redwood noted by Augustus T. Dowd in 1852. This area has been a major tourist attraction ever since, and is considered the longest continuously operated tourist facility in California. Over the years, other parcels of mixed conifer forests have been added to the park. Located at 1170 E. Highway 4, call 209-795-2334 or 209-795-3840 (Visitor’s Center) for a schedule of activities and guided hikes....MoreCollapse

About the owner: Two families from San Luis Obispo wanted a Sierras mountain retreat and decided to remodel this long-time ski lodge into a multi-family retreat. Now we spend traditional holidays there with extended families. We love being far from the crowds of Yosemite or Tahoe, but close to fantastic mountain fun. Most of the time we just walk out the door to hike or snowshoe or mountain bike on the endless spectacular trails. Lots of fun in Murphys and Arnold as well as Bear Valley give us plenty to do when we are not hanging out at the Lodge. We enjoy sharing our dream home with others and set it up for maximum fun, with games and activities galore.
Why the Owner Chose Bear Valley:
My family has been vacationing in Yosemite for 50 years. We wanted a place removed from tourism, but high in the Sierras. The Ebbetts Pass valley is just that kind of place, with the world's largest trees are only 5 minutes away at Calaveras Big Tree State Park, alpine lakes just up the hill and plenty of fun in Murphys and Arnold, too. I wanted a place high in the mountains, but accessible during winter. At 6,000 feet and on the constantly cleared Highway 4, this slice of paradise fit the bill.
The Unique Benefits at this Lodge:
There are endless trails right out the back door for scenic and challenging hikes, snowshoeing, mountain biking or even scenic drives. The large private deck and multiple picture windows offer immediate access and feel of the pine-coated forest. Although located on Highway 4, this is one of the least populated places in the California Sierras, so you will feel you are in the woods during your stay. Stores and attractions are only minutes away, so you won't feel isolated, just special!
