  Sunset Cottage lived up to every expectation. The home is immaculately clean and well-maintained. The owners are two of the sweetest people you'll ever meet and always right there if you need anything. The location is off the beaten path so it's quiet and has a slower pace of life but it's centrally located close to lots of activites so you'll never lack things to do. The view of the lake at sunset is spectacular. The bedrooms have plenty of room and closet space. The living area is quite large with a lot of open space and windows that face the lake. The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes, silverware and cookware. And unlike some rentals, everything works. This is a great getaway place if you want some peace and quiet with more active options like Cedar Point. Take the ferry to one of the islands and do some sightseeing. There are plenty of places to bike. Visit a local winery, there are several nearby. Thomas Edison's birthplace is closeby in Milan and Johnson's Island is off the Marblehead peninsula if you're a history buff.

  Are you looking for a clean and quite vacation getaway? This is the place!! The pictures do not begin to show how nice and clean this home is. Chris and Mary Lou have included everything you need from board games to cleaning supplies, even a first aid kit! Only thing you will need to bring is your sunscreen, laundry detergent and a few pots and pans. You will not be disappointed with staying with them. Great Communication as well! Received my deposit back within a week!

  Our party of four stayed at this lovely home for 3 nights. The owners were truly friendly, courteous and helpful. The views from inside and outside are absolutely fantastic. We had looked into a few different properties in the area, and this one didn't disappoint in both quality and price. The location is extremely quiet, but local enough to all the area's attractions and very easy to find. The home was spotless and affords you nearly any amenity you can think of. Great for people of all ages - we would visit again for sure.

  We just spent a fabulous week at this cottage relaxing and enjoying the spectacular views over the bay with the most stunning sunsets! The cottage is the cleanest cottage we've ever rented and is fully equipped with everything you could ever need - from pots to pans to linen and super clean beds. I can guarantee that there's no bed bugs in this place :) We absolutely love this place as it is so peaceful and quiet, yet within easy driving distance to anywhere. Thanks Chris and MaryLou! you have an awesome place!!

  It was perfect for our family of 6. Everything you need for a carefree vacation. Full kitchen, BBQ grill,WiFii,A/C,cable TV.Plenty of room. Short drives to area attractions. Fishing only 50 feet or so from the door. The owners were very helpful with directions to anywhere we wanted to go. A beautiful sunset every evening. Fantastic !

  Our family stayed at this property June 2011 for our summer vacation. It was located in a quiet neighborhood, conveniently located within a 15 minute drive to all the Sandusky (Cedar Point) and Port Clinton (Monsoon Lagoon, fishing charters, East Harbor State Park, African Safari) attractions we were interested in. The property was right on the Sandusky Bay which was nice for fishing and watching the sunset. The adjacent streets had little to no traffic on them. The condo was very clean and the living space was spacious. The owners went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities.

  We rented this comfy condo with beautiful views for a family getaway with our twenty-something kids and their friends. The six of us slept so well with the windows open and the night air, moon/stars and sounds of the water to put us easily to sleep. The condo has everything so there was no need to packup a lot when our van was already full of people. We had access to Bay Harbor Marina and the hospitality that the owners provided, including an impromptu party with their dockers! What a fun bunch...and afterward we could just walk down the street to our little haven. What a great time, and all for a very low (in our experience) price. Definitely recommend this.

  My family of six stayed here at Sunset Cottage on the Bay in August, 2010, and loved it! All the rooms were immaculately clean and well furnished. Everything was included, even the blender! ;-) True pride of ownership was apparent here. The sunsets over the lake were beautiful!! We could even watch the surf from the wall of glass inside the cottage, or from the spacious deck outside. The owners, Chris and MaryLou Madson, are wonderful people who own Bay Harbor Marina, just a short walking distance down the street, which was very convenient for us. And, the free marina access was perfect for jet skiing, and boating over to Kelley's Island and Put-n-Bay! Cedar Point is only 15 minutes away, and our kids loved that too! We highly recommend Sunset Cottage on the Bay to my friends, family, and people of all ages and interests!!
