My husband and I have stayed in Gatlinburg Chalets for 17 years now and every time we stay we get a chalet with a view. Towering Heights has the best view ever! This is as close to heaven as you'll ever get and the view of Gatlinburg at night is outstanding. The chalet was beautiful inside and out and had every accommodation that we needed. Can't wait to book again at Towering Heights. And Johnny was such a gracious host and made sure we had everything we needed. Towering Heights is now #1 on our list of chalets in Gatlinburg.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We stayed at Towering Heights to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and I can honestly say that it was the best anniversary we have had yet! We had a wonderful time even though it was a short stay of only 2 nights. We arrived on Friday afternoon and found the chalet in tip-top shape. The owner, Johnny, was extremely helpful and easy to work with when planning our trip. The photos of the house on this site are great, but seeing it in person makes you realize just how great it really is. The view is stupendous! The house is luxurious and has everything you need. We stayed in and had dinner at the chalet our first night, just enjoying the view and all of the house's amenities (fireplace, hot tub, sauna, etcetera). The second day we hiked to waterfalls (and saw black bears!) and Clingman's Dome at Great Smoky Mountain National Park. We also drove the Roaring Fork Motor trail, then had dinner at Smoky Mountain Brewery and walked around downtown Gatlinburg, then used the hot tub to help our aching muscles!. Now that we found the perfect place to run away to for a refreshing weekend, we hope take a trip to stay at Towering Heights many more times in the future. This luxury chalet is definitely worth it!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

You dont need to look anywhere else. This chalet has everything you could imagine. Very clean! Ive never seen a view like the one from the balcony. My girlfriend and I went for the first time for a weekend getaway and left there already wandering when we will be back. Johnny is excellent to work with and is there to answer any question you have. My wife and I have been staying at this property for many years & we love it! The view it great! It's remote enough to be away from all the hustle & bustle, yet not too far from Gatlinburg. It's also nice to be so close to Ober Gatlinburg. Sometimes we take the tram into town to avoid having to park downtown. This year we discussed looking for a property which would allow our dogs but we decided we enjoy this place too much to go anywhere else. Plus the property owner has been VERY accomodating to us over the years. He even talked us through an alternative route when we hit Sevierville construction traffic one year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

A BIT OF HEAVEN!!! I've been going to the Smokies for 40 years and NEVER have I felt the way I did when I walked into this beautiful chalet and onto the deck. It absolutely took my breath away! The far reaching views day or night were INCREDIBLE. The chalet itself was GORGEOUSLY decorated and very clean. I love the kitchen cabinets, appliances & counter tops! ( I want a kitchen just like it! ) My husband & I so enjoyed relaxing out on the deck, in and out of the hot tub. I spent most of my time out there...I even sent hubby to the store by himself cuz I didn't want to leave the view or disrupt my peaceful feeling. The bedroom was LUXURIOUS ! Huge bed, huge jacuzzi and dual shower...WOW! We played some pool after dinner each night and hardly left the chalet at all...maybe 3 times during our 5 night stay. We visited The Chimnnies, (not to be confused with The Chimney Tops), which is a favorite site of ours. You can grill out beside the creek that flows over huge rocks and down the mountain that surrounds you. You might even get to see a bear/bears as we have on occasion throughout the years. There are picnic tables and charcoal grills scattered throughout, but get there early to get your perfect spot! We ate at The Wood Grill Buffet (varieties of delicious food available for all ), La Carretas Mexican restaurant (yummy) and Captain Jim's Seafood Buffet (a little pricey, but good), all in Pigeon Forge. The Alamo Steakhouse, located in both Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge is a great place to eat also. We also got great seafood & steaks from Food Lion located in Gatlinburg when you turn up the hill at red light #3 onto Hwy 321. (I believe that's the right name, light and hwy. It sits on a hill to your left just a few miles after your turn at red light #3). I can't thank Johnny enough for building such a wonderful chalet on THE BEST SPOT in all of the SMOKIES. He was very helpful with e-mails and calls about the rental and very nice. After talking with him I describe him as "a good ole' boy". You can't go wrong renting Towering Heights...just look at the pictures & your view. IT'S ALL THAT & MORE!!! This is the place I will be for future visits and have been recommending it to everyone I talk to. Thanks again Johnny....we had a magnificent time and look forward to staying here again, Jackie & Steve.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My wife and stayed three days for our anniversary. The views are spectacular. The chalet was beutiful! And the king size bed was so comfortable. We have been coming to stay at towering heights since 2001,but it is really nice now. We love all the changes! If you are lucky like we were, you will see a momma bear and her three cubs just after sun up or 1 half hour or so before sundown.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Towering Heights far exceeded our expectations! The million dollar view of the mountains, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge was fantastic. Very quiet and peaceful setting. The chalet was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Beautifully decorated! We will definitely recommend this property to our friends and family. Working with Johnny through VRBO.com was easy. We hope to return very soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Pictures and comments cannot really portray how nice this cabin, and its location is. We have been coming to Towering Heights since 2002, and have loved every visit. There has not been a thing I would change about any of our trips to the top of the mountain. However, this year we walked into a completely remodeled cabin. Hard to say it, but it is even better than before. It is an incredibly well-kept secluded cabin at the top of the mountain with a spectacular view. Watching the sunrise from the porch or the hot tub (preferred) is breathtaking. The attractions for Gatlinburg do not change much. I recommend just staying at the cabin. If you must leave for food...Cherokee Grill is probably our favorite place to eat for steak & fish. Loco Burro is close second for a more laid back place with great fajitas and margaritas. If only they would deliver up the mountain. ;) If you must leave for something to see...take some of the hiking trails to the waterfalls. There are several that are not to hard to get to, and worth every step to get there. Johnny and his wife (secretary as she titled herself) were excellent hosts and very attentive to our questions either by phone or email. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone and everyone as long as you don't try to take my dates. ;DRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
