Our bestest friends were in town for our daughter's wedding. We enjoyed the Newberry House for our post wedding relaxation party. Took some great pictures at the cold lakefront and found some great treasures at the four story antique store at 2nd and Washington. Great place to relax.Did you find this review helpful? We had a terrific stay at the Newberry House. The location was close to a wedding we were attending in Downtown Milwaukee. The house gave us all a chance to stay together for a 3 day weekend. The location is very upscale and safe. The Newberry House, and the homes in the surrounding neighborhood, will amaze any fan of architecture- just take a walk down the block! We didn't have time to make it down to the beach, but we drove by and it looked neat. We would stay here again. Staying at the Newberry Mansion will be a memory we'll always treasure. The house exceeded our expectations- it was even bigger than we imagined- and it was in great shape. We were a group of 12, my husband and I, and our two grown children, who each have middle school aged children. The kids had their own rooms! The guys walked to the nearby golf course and played a round. The ladies checked out the light house and shopped the boutiques on the East Side. Though the house has a great kitchen, we never cooked a thing, instead we opted to walk to the nearby pancake house for breakfast, and the Cafe Hollander for lunch. The highlight of our trip was dinner at the nearby Lake Park Bistro on Saturday night. Even the kids loved it and said it was the "fanciest food" they've ever eaten. Jason, the owner, was easy to work with and the house is well organized and appointed. We were amongst the first guests and we will be back- we cant wait to hit Bradford Beach come summer.
