Tucked away in quiet seclusion, the Chateau offers convenient proximity to the Harrah's Cherokee Casino yet is only a short drive to skiing and downtown Maggie Valley. Enjoy the calm, quiet view while you relax in the shady comfort of the screened-in porch or soak in the outdoor hot tub. A two-story cabin with 2 bedrooms, a cozy loft and 2 baths, the Chateau sits on 1.3 wooded acres. Each bedroom has a queen-size bed and there is a double sleeper sofa downstairs. And with a day bed in the loft, 7 can sleep comfortably. The upstairs bedroom is open to the living room below. Access is by gravel road, which may require four-wheel drive during inclement weather days. Driveway is gravel and has a slight uphill climb which may require four-wheel drive.

There are many things that are great about this home. We were looking for two things, seclusion and a hot tub with a great view and we enjoyed both! Unfortunately, there are a couple major problems and a BUNCH of minor issues that will make us hesitant to book again. If you go into the house with open eyes though, you're destined to have a great time. First for the things you can't change, but should be aware of: -The “second bedroom” listed was in the loft and was exposed, so technically there is only one private bedroom. -The driveway is VERY tough to navigate and if both of our cars weren’t stick shift I am not sure we would have made it up. A friend that stopped by for a visit couldn’t make it up the driveway and had to park at the end of the driveway in the road -The other big thing is that there is no cell service and no internet so be prepared and bring a calling card and give people the number of the home in case of emergency. Now, for the small things that were a huge hassle for us that could have been fixed by the cleaning staff for $50.00 including: -There were no paper towels and only 4 cloth napkins -There was only 2 rolls of toilet paper in the whole house -The kitchen supplies were very basic and didn’t include things like aluminum foil or a decent chefs knife and the pots all had warped bottoms -There was also no dish soap at all which meant we had to do dishes in the dishwasher after each meal -The sheets were very rough and old -There was no hand soap in our bathroom -We also couldn’t believe that there were no garbage bags at all in the house and we don’t count plastic grocery bags as garbage bags All that said, we did have a good time, but it was one of those trips where at every turn we were couldn’t believe something wasn’t there. On request, they mentioned that they would make people aware of this on VRBO, but after a week of no change, we felt the need to write this review. Book this place, just bring extra supplies and an open mind.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.
