Puerto Aventuras condo description
The apartment is located in Puerto Aventuras, a gated community 20 min. away from Playa del Carmen and 25 min. away from Tulum. Very close to the ecological parks: XCARET, XPLOR and XEL HA and some other fantastic places like Akumal, Xpu Ha, cenotes, Coba, etc. It is in front of the Marina. It has air conditioning, cable TV, Internet, fully equipped kitchen, DVDs, music CDs, high speed wireless internet, towels, beach chairs and umbrella, table games. It has a covered terrace with views of the pool and the Marina, covered parking, elevator, 'palapa' next to the pool. Walking by the Marina, you reach the beach in 5-7 min. passing by dolphins, restaurants and coffe shops.
To move in Puerto Aventuras, you can do it by renting a bike or golf cart (I highly recommend it to explore every corner). In the Marina there is always action. Boats leave with people for fishing or diving. Walking by you can see the dolphins leaping and dancing or in activities with people. There are sailboats and yachts, with their owners living in, themselves. Restaurants of different specialties, most attended personally by its owners. You can have a delicious coffee with freshly made pastries or dine with a candlelight with a live music show. Puerto Aventuras is a very international place where you can meet people from around the world. It is a favorite for American and Canadian retirees.
For all other activities, it is advisable to rent a car, although there is public transportation to or from Playa del Carmen, Tulum or Cancun.
Opposite the entrance to Puerto Aventuras, we have a convenience store (Chedraui), with everything you need and more. Since many foreigners live there, has a great assortment of imported products. Most restaurants offer home delivery and it is always possible to buy fresh fish, clean and ready to be cooked, from boats returning from the tour. If you enjoy cooking, nothing like a fresh fish directly from the water.
There are pharmacies, ATMs, post office, beauty salon, Yoga classes, Gym, a wonderful spa (XPA) and shops.
Riviera Maya & Playa del Carmen Things to Do - Mexico Attractions
Riviera Maya Water Sports -
The Riviera Maya is a paradise for water sports and guests of all ages can delight in the wonders of the crystalline Caribbean waters. Enjoy snorkeling tours of pristine coral reefs in Riviera Maya, Mexico, teeming with tropical fish; scuba dive in some of the world's best dive spots near the Riviera Maya and Playa del Carmen; swim in the ocean alongside massive, gentle whale sharks or swim with dolphins in one of many Riviera Maya Mexico all inclusive water parks created especially for you to connect with the area's marine life. Fishing is also popular in the Riviera Maya and Cancun, with swordfish, marlin and sailfish to be caught during the spring fishing season.
Riviera Maya Mexico Eco Park - Adventures for the Entire Family -
Did you know? Scientists believe that over 65 million years ago the Yucatan Peninsula and Riviera Maya in Mexico was rocked by an asteroid, which was a large factor in the extinction of the dinosaurs during the Cretaceous period. Over the years, erosion of the mostly-limestone peninsula created a network of sinkholes (locally known as Cenotes), caves, underground rivers, and even underground freshwater lakes.
Combined with the gorgeous tropical fauna and flora of the Riviera Maya and the white sands and azure waters of the Mexican Caribbean, these geological wonders fill the Riviera Maya in Mexico with things to do and create an incredible environment for exploring the natural world.
Known as the world's largest natural aquarium, Xel-Ha park in the Riviera Maya near Playa del Carmen is composed of lagoons, inlets and cenotes, at the mouth of the longest underground river in the world. The parks seemingly-infinite number of activities are at the Riviera Maya and include observing colorful tropical fish, mangroves, and cenotes, walking on jungle trails, swinging on ropes into crystal pools, riding bikes, chatting with parrots and even swimming with dolphins.
Featuring a beach, lagoon and pools, exhibitions of butterflies and orchids, a Coral Reef Aquarium, cultural sites such as a Mayan Archeological Site, an authentic Mayan Village and a grand variety of animals, Xcaret near Playa del Carmen is a great way to become immersed in the natural wonders and culture of the Riviera Maya. At Xcaret you can also swim with dolphins near your Riviera Maya all inclusive resort.
Indulge your sense of adventure in the Riviera Maya at Xplor, a unique underground world filled with things to do, featuring seven exhilarating circuits to enjoy. Experience zip lines near Playa del Carmen with amazing water landings, exciting rides in amphibious land/water vehicles, underground rafting, mystical caves full of stalactites near and more, all close to Puerto Aventuras at the Riviera Maya.
Rio Secreto -
Discover a breathtaking underground world near Puerto Aventuras, Riviera Maya that hasn't been touched for thousands of years. The partially-submerged Rio Secreto is one of the best things to do in Riviera Maya, and is a protected nature reserve covering over 7.5 miles where you can safely explore the Yucatan Peninsula's best-kept secrets. Observe stunning stalactites, stalagmites, rock formations and crystal-clear fresh waters. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you can't miss!
Explore the Ancient Mayan World in the Riviera Maya, Mexico -
Known for their advanced mathematical and astronomical systems, art and spectacular architecture, the Mayas of modern-day Playa del Carmen and Riviera Maya, Mexico are also the only known pre-Columbian culture to have a fully-developed written language. The Mayans never disappeared, and sizable populations of Mayan people and their descendants still exist, keeping ancient customs and traditions alive. Experience the splendor of the Mayan culture by visiting a Mayan village in Riviera Maya, Mexico and the ruins of ancient Mayan cities and fortresses near Playa del Carmen and Cancun.
Chichen Itza -
Chichen Itza is one of the most famous Mayan sites in Mexico. Approximately 3 hours from Puerto Aventuras, you'll need to allow a full day to visit them and take photographs of the Pyramid of Kukulkan, a massive structure built to display the Maya calendar, and enjoy the 360° views of the jungle near your Riviera Maya resort.
The Mayan site of Uxmal near the Riviera Maya is known for having ornately carved facades representing great ceremonies in Mexico. Much emphasis at Uxmal was placed on appeasing the rain god Chaac, as the site did not have a cenote or river to provide water. The double-headed jaguar throne at the Governor's Palace at Uxmal is another interesting feature to visit when in Riviera Maya.
Imagine a mystical stone fortress on a bluff overlooking the striking blue expanse of the Mexican Caribbean, a photo opportunity you will not want to miss in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The ancient seaport of Tulum near Playa del Carmen and Puerto Aventuras, monitored the trade route between the Yucatan and Honduras, and remained inhabited long after the arrival of the Spaniards in Mexico. A white-sand beach at the base of the fortress provides an excellent and refreshing resting place to enjoy.
Still swallowed up by the dense jungle of the Riviera Maya, Mexico, Cobá is steadily being excavated and studied by archeologists. Covering approximately 26 miles, its impressive size and imposing ruins near Puerto Aventuras are indicative of its status; it was once one of the most important cities in the Mayan civilization. Interesting structures include the Pyramid of the Painted Lintel and the Temple of the Church, and it is easy to visit from Puerto Aventuras.
Whether you are looking for Riviera Maya souvenirs, locally-crafted jewelry, and unique clothing items from exclusive boutiques or high-end pieces from your favorite designers, Riviera Maya and Cancun have it all. A fiftenn-minute ride from PA allows you to browse through original artwork, native handicrafts, beautiful jewelry and beach accessories, while a trip to Cancun offers you malls like the Kukulkan Shopping Plaza, Plaza la Isla, with hundreds of shops and boutiques, currency exchange, duty-free and jewelry stores galore.
After a long day of sun and sand, the Riviera Maya and Playa del Carmen areas offer great venues for going out, having some cocktails, and stepping out onto the dance floor. Visit places like Di Vino Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar or Pure, a nightclub with international and Latin music in Playa del Carmen. Or, experience the legendary nightlife of Cancun with a visit to a super-club like Coco Bongo, Dady’o, The City and The Bulldog. Also in PA you will find a very cozy atmosphere walking through the Marina in the evenings or nights, you will find several restaurants with live music playing on.
Riviera Maya Jazz Festival -
The Riviera Maya Jazz Festival presents you with the incredible sounds and vibrant voices of jazz in Playa Mamitas in Playa del Carmen. Having become the great musical event of the destination, it has showcased the talents of legends and Grammy winners like George Duke, Four Play, Sergio Mendes, Herbie Hancock, Ivan Lins, David Sanborn, Earl Klugh, Armando Manzanero and Sacbe, who have graced Playa Mamitas and captured the hearts of music lovers far and wide. This three-day event takes Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya, Mexico by storm every fall. Come and join us!

In the middle of everything!
In the middle of everything!
June 21st to July 18th, 2013 There it is! We found the perfect place! At the beginning we were looking to stay in Cancun or Playa del Carmen but you are very well located and we had a car so we traveled all the coast and we went to Valladolid and Merida. Amazing family trip! To your next renters: 1.- XPLOR = X pensive, bur X tra fun. Teens spend the most exciting day in their lives. 2.- TULUM = On the left side = Mezzanine Restaurant was Wow! And the beach beautiful! On the right side = Hip Hotel. Have a drink and enjoy the view. The beach is long and white. Xtra beautiful. 3.- Dolphins experience: we had a funny story with the manatee and more fun with the sea lions. 4.- Cenotes: Kantun-chi, just the other side of the road, a Km. not much: small, empty and quiet. Wow! For birds’ lovers we saw a few mot-mot. 5.- Tulum ruins: $8.- for a great view, beautiful spot and many stores. 6.- Akumal: snorkeling with turtles, Yalku Lagoon and a lunch at La Buena Vida restaurant. You can drink a beer on the top of a palm tree and have your lunch with your feet on the sand. Wow! Again… 7.- Playa for night lunch on the beach. 8.- Omni Hotel: we bought a pass for using the beach chairs, palapa and the pool. They charge us $125.- US for 2 weeks but they give us $125.- US credit. It is the most beautiful beach of Puerto. And… Merida, Valladolid people, fishing, Mexican food, mole… the sun, the spot, the pool and… wonderful owners! Maybe one day, we will move here for real! Besos a todos! In my opinion this was the best thing, we were able to go everywhere, the grocery store, across the highway to eat more traditional fair. The condo was wonderful, very tasteful furnishings, great bed and everything in the condo you needed. We had the most wonderful holiday at Nela and Rudy's condo. They had everything we needed - they had bicycles for our use while we were there. In my opinion this was the best thing, we were able to go everywhere, the grocery store, across the highway to eat more traditional fair, the caleta. The condo was wonderful, very tasteful furnishings, great bed and everything in the condo you needed - except a cheeze grater that we had to buy. We treated it more like another adventure. Alfredo the gardener is a wonderful man, so helpful. My husband hadn't had a holiday in 23 years the accomodations were everything we could have hoped for. a million times better than staying in Playa - Mucho Gracias Tonya and Darryl

Puerto Aventuras is a great location for a holiday. It is close to Playa del Carmen, Cenotes and a very central location from which to explore the whole coast. It is a golf/marina complex with restaurants, bars and other conveniences. The condo was clean, spacious and well appointed. It had all the amenities that our family (4 adults & 2 children) needed. The balcony overlooked our pool and at night we could listen to jazz music from the club across the way. There is always some activity going on and it was fun to watch the fishermen going out and in and to be able to buy fresh fish from them later on in the day. The dolphin and sea lion pools were only a few minutes walk from us as well as the beach. Nela, the owner is very helpful and very quick to respond when you need information or help. We had a wonderful relaxing time and look forward to coming again next year. Louise & Arnold, Ontario, Canada

A wonderful place to stay! Robyn J. comentario enviado: 23 de octubre de 2011Fecha de la estancia: octubre 2011 Wow, what a great place to spend your holidays! This condo comes with everything you need to enjoy a fantastic holiday in PA. The pool outfront was cleaned daily so we made sure to frolic in it after most of our dives each day. The beds were so comfortable and the place was spotless when we arrived. This was our first time using a condo instead of a resort for our holidays and we will definitely be doing it again. Nela was so helpful in making sure that we had everything we needed. She also made lots of great suggestions on different things to do in PA. I have and will recommend this condo to any one I hear of going to PA, and can't wait to go back! I miss it so much already! Respuesta del propietario: Robyn: we really thank you for your comments! It was nice to have you. We are very happy to share our place. Ah! the cheese grater is now in the drawer, Rudy and Nela ¿Le ha parecido útil este comentario?SíNo

About the owner: My family and me have lived in Cancún for aprox. 30 years. Though I was born in Panamá, my family is from Spain so we were living there when my oldest brother falled in love with Ana, my sister in law and moved to Cancún. When we started visiting them, we dreamt about the possibility of living here some day. Back then, Cancún was a real paradaise. I came once for vacation and never went back to Spain, then my brother, then my sister and finally my parents, so my hole family lives her today. I got marrried to a mexican handsome gentelman and we a have a son. Leaving here has been a maravelouse and unique experience but we miss the small town and community of the past.
Why the Owner Chose Puerto Aventuras:
We are so lucky to have this condo in Puerto Aventuras!. Close enough to spend a weekend there and far enough to disconect from the strees of the daily routine. Puerto has miracously keept the sense of a small international community, integrated with nature, very secure, with friendly people and right in the middle of the majority of the wonderful attractions of the Riviera Maya.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
When we arrive to Puerto, we park the car and forget about it. We move by bikes or just walking. We never miss the 'wahoo fish tacos' in Latitud 20 or a capuchino in Cafe, Cafe. There is always action going on in the Marina. It is easy to see free animals used to the presence of humans. And I will never, never, never get tired of watching the dolphins in their pools at the Marina.
