My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Teresa & Ben's home. The house was spotless and comfortably furnished. We had everything that we needed. Teresa was so gracious and gave us eggs from the "girls" as well as many baked goodies. We spent our week golfing 7 out of the 8 days. We also found several very good restaurants in the area including Sweet Basil, Rhett's, Sly Fox and Southern Prime. We would definitely go back if we ever have the opportunity to visit the area again.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in this spacious, comfortable and immaculate property. It was very quiet and peaceful with no traffic noise. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cooking equipment. Every detail has been thought of. The location is minutes from downtown Southern Pines. A notebook with useful information about restaurants and local attractions was helpful. The owners were perfect hosts, friendly, welcoming and willing to answer questions yet affording their guests privacy. Teresa and Ben were extremely accommodating and kindly allowed us to use an outside plug for our Volt electic car. All of these things merit a five star rating but Teresa and Ben go beyond expectation by providing homemade artisan cinnamon bread and fresh eggs. Both were delicious. I highly recommend this property.

Our experience was similar to the many reviews for this property. It was all excellent. The property was just as described and the owners extremely hospitable. The "girls" (hens) delivered as promised with fresh eggs. As a time-share owner we were pleasantly surprised how well equipped the unit was. Didn't even have to bring my my own salt/pepper, aluminum foil, butter . . . Wow! We recommend without any reservations.

Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

A New Year's Getaway

This apartment was located close to many amenities but secluded enough to feel very private.The place is much nicer and bigger than the photos; very clean, comfortable, and peaceful! I read 2 books and slept like a log on the most comfy bed ever! I can't praise the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners enough! We hiked at the 2 places they recommended (Wemouth Nature Preserve and the Reservoir Park) both quite beautiful! We spent a day shopping and exploring the quaint downtown areas of Southern Pines and Pinehurst (and had an excellent lunch at Dugan's Irish Pub). We also had dinner at an English restaurant (Squires Pub) that had excellent food. All in all, we enjoyed a relaxing and serenic getaway!

A New Year's Retreat

We had a great getaway in a very peaceful setting. The hosts are very gracious, and the cinnamon bread was a wonderful welcome. Their dining recommendations were awesome... and we even saw them at The Bakehouse. The house was beautiful, impeccably clean and provided everything needed for our escape. We had a GREAT time!

What a find! Over the years we have rented seven properties via VRBO but nothing compared with this beautifully appointed, super comfortable and unbelievably stocked home with everything you need for a magnificnet stay. Above all nothing rivals the welcoming feeling that comes from meeting Teresa and Ben. Two of the loveliest people we have ever met. Their sign at the gate says it all "You enter a stranger and leave as a friend." No words could be truer. When we came to the house we were greeted by Teresa with some "ugly" looking cinammon bread that scented the kitchen and delighted our palalte. In the next seven days we were treated with home-made ganola bars, muffins and an assortment of treats including fresh eggs from the "girls." Although nothing could top the hospitality accorded to us by Teresa and Ben, we would be remiss if we didn't tell you about what a great area these three contiguous towns constitute- Southern Pines,Aberdeen and Pinehurst. There are some interesting high end consignment shops, myriads of pottery shops, quaint restaurants, street performances, theatrical presentations, and of course some of the most wonderful golf courses in the world. Addicted to golf as we are, we played six out of seven days spent in Southern Pines. We particularly enjoyed Anderson Creek and the Country Club of Southern Pines. By the way-do not leave the area without treating yourself to the best burger you will ever have- A Barcelona Burger at The Bakehouse! Teresa will recommend it as she often visits herself. What a wonderful stay! Teresa and Ben your home is so comfortable, so homey and you are two of the finest, most welcoming people we have ever met. We are already planning our next getaway to visist the "girls" and beautiful Southern Pines. God bless you both!!

This was a wonderful place! I can't say enough about how clean and quiet the cottage was. Everything worked perfectly and everything you needed was provided. I cannot wait to go back! We watched hummingbirds feed as we ate the delicious home-baked raisin bread. I highly recommend this place to everyone! On our third night as we came in I said "Gosh, it feels good to be HOME!" That says it all!

Teresa and Ben's hideaway was perfect! So clean and everything we could need right at our door! We had our granddaughter who is 5 with us and she loved feeding the chickens. The "girls" gave us eggs during our stay. What fun.Teresa showed classy southern charm by welcoming us with fresh baked bread upon our arrival and cookies to send us off to the next destination. My sister is in Pinehurst and we will love to visit again and we will stay at Teresa's and Ben's. Beautiful place. We would recommend this highly. Thank you so much for everything.

This place was amazing! Every detail of the house was beautifully prepared. They really gave us fresh eggs from the chickens and fresh bread. The house was very quiet and remote, but still very close to the center of town. The owners are stars of Southern Hospitality. We loved everything about our stay.

The property was very clean and quiet, the beds were comfortable, the fresh eggs and bread were a nice surprise, and the owners were the most hospitable of any place I have stayed. I would highly recommend this place. It is worth much more than the price that is charged!

you have to try this wonderful place yourself

This was the first time that our family rented property from HomeAway. The experience was absolutely phenomenal!!! Theresa and Ben were very nice and understanding. Our daughter had actually gotten sick two days before the trip, and I was so worried we wouldn't end up being able to go to the house, but everything went on as planned. Everyone enjoyed themselves and got rejuvenated. Our daughter started feeling better the moment we got there and only felt better as the week progressed. We were totally relaxed, and surrounding area was very peaceful and quiet. We took few day trips in the area, enjoying the historical regions and some good food. When we stayed at a resort villa in the past I needed to bring everything with me for making my homemade dishes. Theresa and Ben's house however was well equipped with everything I needed. They have all kind of pots, pans, bowls and utensils. I think next time for my Asian cooking, all I will need to bring is soy sauce. The house is clean and neat; beds are so comfortable. All your basic needs are provided. Of course we also enjoyed those healthy and yummy baked goodies that Theresa brought to us!! We really enjoyed this trip and definitely plan on going back and bringing friends with us in the future.

We can't imagine staying anywhere else when visiting the area. This was our second stay at the guest house. Plenty of room with all of the amenities...plus hospitality. Fresh eggs (from "the girls") and fresh baked cinnamon bread are such an added bonus! Hope to return later this year.

The apartment was even better than described and perfect to celebrate our anniversary! Teresa provided wonderful hospitality - including fresh cinnamon bread, eggs, and home made cookies. The kitchen was well-stocked and there was plenty of space to relax and spread out. Every amenity we needed was provided, including dishwashing detergent, Kleenex, cream, sugar, etc. etc. The linens were clean and soft. We highly recommend this apartment!

Truely Amazing Place to Stay

We stayed at Theresa and Bennys home for a month. We had been to North Carolina once before due to our son stationed at Ft Bragg. We had just stayed in a motel and it was okay. He was returning from Afghanistan so we would be out there longer from Texas so we decided to rent a house. What a great decision!!! We had only planned on being out there for 2 weeks but due to other issues our son had to return early and we needed to be there for 4 weeks. Lucky for us the house was open. We had never met the Whites, but were truely blessed when we decided on their house. They were very compasionate and caring during our trials while we were there. We went as strangers and definately left as friends. The house is absolutely amazing. The kitchen was completely equipped with everything you needed. Coffee, filters, dishwasher soap, and fresh eggs and bread!!!!!! The bathroom was fully equipped down to shampoo and conditioner, hairdryer and even shaving cream. The laundry room had laundry soap, dryer sheets and even a laundry basket. The beds were absolutely outstanding, you would fall into them and sleep like a log. The girls "chickens" were very entertaining, enjoyed feeding them and man they gave us great eggs for breakfast the whole time we were there. Theresa is the best cook, she blessed us with her goodies many many times while we were there. If you needed something, all you had to do was ask. When it came time to leave we wanted to take them, the girls and of course boot with us, but our Civic was packed to the top, so we had to leave everyone behind to the next family to enjoy. THANK YOU FOR A BLESSED STAY AND FOR BECOMING SUCH GOOD FRIENDS. IF WE COME BACK TO NORTH CAROLINA YOU CAN BE GUARANTEED WE WILL STAY WITH YA'LL... Location, Location, Location! A beautiful serene, safe, country setting with a lovely patio, beautiful flowers and spacious back yard yet close to historic Southern Pines complete with entertainment,pubs, restaurants, movie theater, train station, antique and individual speciality shops. Details, Details, Details! Ben and Teresa's Guest House is only a year or so old everything is brand new and top of the line. The Guest house was immaculate, spacious, warm and inviting complete with all the amenities you could think of. The property was much, much more than advertised, there were detailed maps, pages of restaurants and attractions in the area with reviews from Ben and Teresa. Teresa had a loaf of her homemade bread on the kitchen counter it was Delicious as was all the other wonderful baked goods she and Ben provided us with during the week. "The Girls" from the hill not only provided us with fantastic eggs all week but they were great entertainment as were the hummingbirds and squirrels coming and going from the beautiful back yard. Thank-you Ben and Teresa for your kindness, thoughtfulness and sharing your LOVELY home with us, FANTASTIC baked goods, "The Girls" eggs and entertainment while allowing us to have an affordable vacation 9-18-11 thru 9-23-11. Ben and Teresa this is Southern Hospitality at its FINEST! The Friends we visited at Southern Pines were so impressed with the property they are planning to book the property to accommodate their overflow of guests. Our next vacation to Southern Pines will be booked around the availability of Ben and Teresa's Guest House! What an amazing find! This property has everything for a quiet, relaxing vacation. Thank you Ben and Teresa for a wonderful weekend with our son. My wife and I had a nice three day retreat here. It was exactly as advertised and more! Every little detail was thoughtfully included. The place was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. We plan to come again in the future and hope our time-frame will be available.

Teresa and Ben have a wonderful knack of making you feel comfortable and at home yet having total privacy. We walked into the rental and had a nice note on top of a folder of things we could do in the region. Also has a loaf of fresh wheat bread (with raisins, walnuts, cherries and cinnamon) AND fresh eggs from "the Girls". It was very nice and quiet at night and slept like a log. Woke up in the morning and had a great breakfast while watching the hummingbirds come to feed. The entire place is well stocked with anything you might need for cooking or otherwise. When I'm back in town, I will be staying there. <3

Do you want a wonderful getaway in a secluded apartment that is still close to everything? This is YOUR place. We were looking for a relaxing long weekend as a couple, and we were blessed to find this wonderful place. Teresa and Ben are delightful hosts. The apartment is beautifully furnished with all of the necessities and many "extra" touches that you would never find in another rental. Southern Pines is a really neat place. THE PERFECT VACATION RENTAL

As a family of five with 3 boys, this was the perfect vacation rental. Would highly recommend it to family and friends. Unmatched hospitality. Plenty of room, clean, well kept and in nice, quiet, safe location. The chickens and hummingbirds were a hit with the kids. Our boys are still talking about the "chicken coop house."

My husband and I spent 3 weeks at Teresa and Ben's guest house this past winter. Returning in May was like coming home. Fresh eggs from "the girls" and home made bread made things even better. We will certainly be back again.

Great alternative to a Hotel!!

My wife and I spent 5 nights here while visiting our daughter and the home was perfect. It was exceptionally clean, conveniently located and "homey!" ...much better than a Hotel! We sure hope that when planning or next trip to Pinehurst/S Pines that we will find this rental available! Two other family members have stayed w/the Whites and they loved it!!

My sister and I had the privilege of spending time at this location for 5 days. What a wonderful getaway! Peaceful…. quiet…. close to quaint stores and restaurants. To top it off, the fireplace was an added touch and we had homemade goodies delivered to our "heart"box every morning. Such a special touch! I want to thank Ben and Teresa for such a wonderful place to stay and make headway on my book. Oh- the chickens and fresh eggs were a touch that took my sis and I back to our childhood! If you need a place to relax, enjoy family or get some peace and quiet- this is the place! We hope to return again- sooner than later. It truly is- a home away from home. :)

We had a wonderful 3 weeks at Teresa and Ben's guest house. The apartment is spotless and stocked with everything to make you feel at home. It is quiet and secluded but minutes from "downtown" Southern Pines and Pinehurst. The best of both worlds! Our hosts were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Teresa's baked goodies were a wonderful surprise. We enjoyed our stay in Southern Pines and hope to be back. We would not hesitate to recommend this rental - it sure beats staying in a hotel!

Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

We came down from Michigan to visit our daughter, and to be here for our grandaughters 2nd birthday. Her house is pretty small for an additional 2 adults, so we looked for a place close to them ( near Fayetteville ) that we could stay. We found the Homeaway site, and Ben & Teresa's rental was listed in the Pinehurst/Southern Pines area. The reservation calender was up to date, and the reservation process was very easy. When we arrived, it was everything we had hoped for, and more! The apartment was incredible! We felt right at home immediately! The bedrooms are spacious, and the beds are so comfortable. The bathroom is wonderful with a great step-in shower plenty big enough for a large guy like myself! The livingroom with new hdtv were great, and the kitchen was fabulous, with new appliances and stocked as well as our kitchen back home! The apartment is basically new. We loved the apartment so much in fact, we rented an additional week that luckily for us was still available, as this rental, for obvious reasons, books extremely fast! And during our stay, the area got hit with a extreme ice & snow storm that shut everything down for about 2 days. No one could get out. Ben & Teresa knew we did not have any food supply as such, as all our meals we were having with our daughter. They graciously had us up ( the apt. is actually the entire bottom level of their home ) for homeade potato soup and carolina style hamburgs! Not only is Teresa an incredibley meticulous housekeeper, but she is an outstanding cook! The added bonus of finding fresh baked sweet breads and other goodies waiting for us when we got back to the apt. almost every night was icing on the cake. We can't say enough of about how wonderful our stay with Ben & Tersea was, and look forward to future stays with our new friends! When we are able to come back south and visit our daughter, this is the ONLY place we will ever consider staying at. Mark & Sherri Bronson, Otsego, Michigan

Peace and Quiet

In all the years we have been going South and to visit relatives in Pinehurst, this was the best place to stay. It was so peaceful and quiet. I just cannot say enough about this place. It was cozy, and a home away from home only much better of course. Last week was quite chilly and being from the North, I did want to have some warm temperatures, but that didn't happen but there was plenty of sunshine and that more than made up for the cold temps. Also there was no SNOW, so that was a blessing to us. We truly enjoyed meeting our new "friends" Ben and Teresa. We enjoyed the "surprises" each day and it just made for a very pleasant stay in a beautiful place. We hope to return in the Spring and enjoy the beautiful Spring weather. Thank you Ben and Teresa for such a beautiful stay.

A wonderful experience!

Our family of four enjoyed every minute of our time in this beautiful home. The setting is lovely and quiet, our son enjoyed exploring in the spacious yard and even saw a deer one morning. The accommodations are spotless and so comfortable, lots of natural light and a cozy firelplace--definitely a home away from home feel. The kitchen was fabulous to cook in and had all the best appliances. Our hosts, Teresa and Ben were so gracious and made us feel like family. Teresa "wowed" us with her delicious baked treats, what a personal and warm touch. We have family in the area and the location was ideally located to all the places we needed to visit. Although you feel you are out in the country there is a gas and grocery close by and then for wonderful shopping in Southern Pines or Pinehurst it is a quick drive. Once you stay here you will never stay in another hotel again in the area! I just wish Teresa and Ben had homes in all the areas we like to vacation! We look forward to returning! Thank you so much again for a wonderful time!

After driving through the night to reach our destination it was a pleasure to walk into this rental home to a cozy bed and fresh baked cinnamon breads. This home was spotless and extremely clean. Having the space compared to a cramped hotel room was ideal. After our sons golf tournament it was nice to go back to the cool air of our rental and relax. The owners of the property treat you like family, surprising us once more with muffins that were incredible. They left a great deal of info on the town for us and supplied us with anything we might need. We didn't even need to ask because everything you could possibly need was right there when we arrived, even a grill to do a little BBQ if you so choose. Compared to a hotel we didn't have to break the bank for such a wonderful place. 5 stars plus!!!!!!

The apartment was incredible--so clean, quiet, roomy, and comfortable! Enjoyed amazing fresh-baked goods every morning. Fully equipped and modern kitchen, so saved on food expenses. Great TV with all channels you could ask for. Nicest hosts in the world. My son and I didn't want to leave--it felt like home! Best place we ever have stayed in. If we come back to Pinehurst, we definitely will stay here again, although as wonderful as it is, it probably will be rented out well in advance. Our highest recommendation possible!

Everything is brand new. It was more than we even expected. The apartment is spotlessly clean & maintained. The local restaurant, Sweet Basil, that was recommended to us was superb also. We enjoyed historic downtown Southern Pines. We will definately be sending our friends and family & will return oursellves. It is a real treat, not to be missed!
