For the first time Kedra is available for 2 night stays for only $525, now through the end of March. You will enjoy every season as each offers its own special delights for your group to enjoy in the North GA mountains. New for 2011: a bigger, deeper cove was created by digging out 250 truckloads of dirt for your water enjoyment!

The main level at Kedra feels like a peaceful mountain lodge with wood floors, pine-paneling, and a stacked-stone gas fireplace in the family room. This is open to the dining room with seating for 14, and our heavily equipped 3-cook kitchen. The master bedroom is also located on this level and windows line the rear of the house allowing for great views. You can step onto the covered porch to pass the afternoon in one of our rocking chairs.

Upstairs you will find two enormous bedrooms each outfitted to sleep a family, as well as a full bathroom. We decorated our cabin with a fun "bed-&-breakfast" feel, with each bedroom having its own unique character. The lower level may be your center of activity where you can have friendly competitions in air hockey or playstation, relax by the tv, or head to the lake. Also located there are two more bedrooms and a full bath. The crowning feature in the back: walk the 75 yards down the gently-sloped property to a large firepit, sandbox, and 100 feet of lake front with a private dock and canoe on a quiet cove for swimming.

Our cabin, which was completed and newly decorated in 2004, is on a beautiful, low-traffic TVA lake and a pontoon boat is available for rental. (Please note that Lake Nottely is lowered in the winter months and during drought seasons by the TVA). The town of Blairsville is sleepy and quaint but still has plenty of shopping, restaurants, and entertainment options to suit everyone's desires. (Go to the Union County Chamber of Commerce web page for more information.)

In the end, it is our previous guest's own words that say the most about our cabin: "beautiful... thank you for the warmth and hospitality of your home... home away from home... elegant... 2 weeks was not enough... all of our needs were met by your preparations... spacious and clean... very realxing... family friendly... we will be back!"

Why the Owner Chose Blairsville

Lake Nottely in Blairsville has the perfect combination of charm, convenience, natural beauty and remoteness that makes our trips up there so enjoyable. There is lots to do but you don't have to fight a crowd of other vacationers to do it! The house is huge and is easy for more than one family to share, giving us each a little space to breath and plenty of room to share.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

Each year we add to our list of things to do, taking expeditions to find new and interesting adventures. Of course, the lake is the biggest draw... fishing, canoeing, boating, swimming; it is all heaven on this lovely, peaceful lake. We also enjoy tubing and rafting down the rivers, golfing, hiking to waterfalls, shopping and eating out at our favorite restaurants. Probably our favorite outing is to Vogel State Park, a must-do on every trip. Mostly it is time spent together, making memories and getting refreshed from the peacefullness and beauty.

I just want to add to the comments by my cousins, Charles & Stacy Maddox. My family has always wanted to "join up" with our Fla. family members and your home made it possible. It's not every day you find a place to fit 12. With members ranging in age from 1 to 81 everyone was comfortable. You have thought of every comfort. We have already started planning for next year.

Perfect in every way! We LOVED this cabin!

We have rented cabins in north Georgia for years. This is by far one of our favorites! The home is beautiful and very well equipped. We felt like we were at home. The home is actually better than it looks in the pictures. It's gorgeous! The kitchen is huge with an island and a long family table. Perfect for gatherings! Not only does it have the long kitchen table, but a 4 seat table to the side (in the den) that is perfect for additional guests or playing cards. There is a full bed on the main level with a wonderful view. You go upstairs to 2 bedrooms that have a shared bath. There is SO much room upstairs for sleeping options. Each room has a full sized bed and 2 twins. Perfect for couples with children. The cabin was VERY clean. I am a "clean fanatic" and this cabin certainly passed my test. It's very fresh feeling and made me feel right at home. There is a nice laundry room right off the kitchen with a washer and dryer and a view to boot. Everything you could possibly need was in this cabin. The owners even left a welcome basket with a tooth brush, razor and more for those items you might have missed. Very welcoming! The owner/manager, Kelly, was awesome. She was always quick to respond and a pleasure to work with. I would stay here again for sure!!! Loved it and have great memories! My only recommendation is take their advice regarding the driveway and back in if you don't have all wheel drive. It's gravel and can be difficult if not. Be sure to visit the Saw Mill Place restaurant in Blairsville (you are about 10 minutes away). I had some of the best sweet potato pancakes I have ever had. Great people. Great food. There is so much to do around this cabin and it's right on the lake! LOVE!!! Thanks, Kelly and family; we had an awesome time!

A bittersweet family reunion meant to be a celebration of Mame Fisher's 75th B-day, but instead a memorial service after her passing on 6/12. The kids, 7, 6, 5 and 6 mo's had the MOST fun! Grandpa Fred's neon slighshots (brough back from a trip to Venice) were the BOMB. S'mores campfire with fireflies and glow necklaces salsa made us smile. Kedra is a SUPER place for big family dinners, 16 for several nights. Joy and sorrow combine to make some strong memories.

Kelly and Family, Thank you for sharing your home with us! We had a great time doing fireworks on July 4th as we cannot do so in the Dallas area. Our family consisted of parents, 2 grown daughters, one son-in-law, 1 grandson with 2 friends and even a son-in-laws parents! We had plenty of room and especially appreciate being allowed to bring our two "furry" pets, Raffles and Cricket along with us. The boys swam, fished and generally spent most of their time outdoors! Doug graciously rented us the pontoon boat for several days and everyone fished and the kids tubed behind the boat. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to your area. Thanks again for your warm hospitality!

Ten of use gathered here for our parent's/grandparent's 50th Anniversary. The house seemed to be perfectly suited to this number - giving us all ample room to spread out and relax. The house itself offered a fair amount of entertainment. The ping-pong table was used every night and the pontoon boat available for rent was used on several occasions. A few of us attempted to tube behind the boat, to varied success. Either way, the boat and canoe provided welcome retreats from the house. As for excursions from the house, Vogel STate Park and DeSoto Falls provided moderately strenuous hikes to scenic waterfalls. For younger families, Meeks Park had several nice baseball fields and playgrounds for public use. A few of the more adventurous in the family ventured to the Ocoee river for some white water rafting. This was s a well done and exciting excursion. Thank you for the wonderful house and location!

What a wonderful and relaxing guest house that can accommodate a crowd. The decorating of the various rooms is very tasteful and comfortable. I would definitely recommend it to my friends. (copied from the guest book at Kedra)

Kelly: We have arrived home after our week’s stay at Kedra. Thank you for sharing your home with us. It was perfect for our needs. The home was clean and well-cared for. Everyone had a great time fishing, swimming and “tubing” behind the pontoon boat we rented from your neighbor, Doug. They were very gracious & friendly and were glad to answer any questions we had about the area. We also had fun shooting fireworks off the dock, which we can’t do here where we live. We put down a large piece of plywood on the deck to protect it and had a “canoe patrol” out on the lake to net any floating trash from the fireworks. Grandson & friends had to defend themselves against a full-scale water balloon attack from the “old folks” who used a balloon launcher to attack the boys while they were swimming off the dock!! We had a campfire three nights where we made smores and “hobo pies” for dessert. The kitchen was large enough for all of us to be together for meals and card-playing. We left your home in good condition and did our best to follow all the check-out procedures requested. Thanks again.
