Location: Blairsville, Northeast Mountains, Georgia, USA (Less than 2 hours north of Atlanta, 10 min. from Blairsville) View Map
Accommodations: Lake House, 5 Bedrooms, 3 Baths (Sleeps 14-15)
We have the weekends of Oct.29-Nov. 1st and Nov. 5-8th or 19-22nd still open for that gorgeous fall retreat. Have fun with our newly added ping pong table. Kedra is a proven off season winner for golf trips, girl's weekends, church retreats and planning, family reunions, spa getaways, fishing, hiking and biking. And we have made our rates for summer 2009 even more affordable! Our guests find Kedra to have the combination of room, amenities and atmosphere that make it truly ideal.
The main level at Kedra feels like an peaceful mountain lodge with wood floors, pine-paneling, and a stacked-stone gas fireplace in the family room. This is open to the dining room with seating for 14, and our 3-cook kitchen with everything to feed the troops. The master bedroom is also located on this level and windows line the rear of the house allowing for great views. You can step onto the covered porch to pass the afternoon in one of our rocking chairs.
Upstairs you will find two enormous bedrooms each outfitted to sleep a family, as well as a full bathroom. We decorated our cabin with a fun "bed-&-breakfast" feel, with each bedroom having its own unique character. The lower level may be your center of activity where you can have friendly competitions in air hockey or playstation, relax by the tv, or head to the lake. Also located there are two more bedrooms and a full bath. The crowning feature in the back: walk the 75 yards down the gently-sloped property to a large firepit, sandbox, and 100 feet of lake front with a private dock and canoe on a quiet cove for swimming. The water is over "expected levels" for this time of year. It is hopefull we will have our pristine lake back in 2009!
Our cabin, which was completed and newly decorated in 2004, is on a beautiful, low-traffic TVA lake and a pontoon boat is available for rental. (Please note that Lake Nottely is lowered in the winter months and during drought seasons by the TVA). The town of Blairsville is sleepy and quaint but still has plenty of shopping, restaurants, and entertainment options to suit everyone's desires. (Go to the Blairsville Chamber of Commerce web page for more information.)
In the end, it is our previous guest's own words that say the most about our cabin: "beautiful... thank you for the warmth and hospitality of your home... home away from home... elegant... 2 weeks was not enough... all of our needs were met by your preparations... spacious and clean... very realxing... family friendly... we will be back!"

Why the Owner Chose Blairsville
Lake Nottely in Blairsville has the perfect combination of charm, convenience, natural beauty and remoteness that makes our trips up there so enjoyable. There is lots to do but you don't have to fight a crowd of other vacationers to do it! The house is huge and is easy for more than one family to share, giving us each a little space to breath and plenty of room to share.
The Unique Benefits at this Lake House
Each year we add to our list of things to do, taking expeditions to find new and interesting adventures. Of course, the lake is the biggest draw... fishing, canoeing, boating, swimming; it is all heaven on this lovely, peaceful lake. We also enjoy tubing and rafting down the rivers, golfing, hiking to waterfalls, shopping and eating out at our favorite restaurants. Probably our favorite outing is to Vogel State Park, a must-do on every trip. Mostly it is time spent together, making memories and getting refreshed from the peacefullness and beauty.

Hi Kelly, I just wanted to let you know that we had a great time at Kedra. The pics posted on the website just don't do it justice. It is totally amazing. We loved it, loved it, loved it! We had a great time just relaxing at the cabin. My daughter and niece loved swimming in the lake, which was something new for them because as you know we don't swim in the lakes here in Florida because of the gators. They also had a blast with the neighbor's dog Olly. What a great dog! The neighbor was very nice and helpful. We rented the pontoon boat from him for a day. It was alot of fun... Again, thank you so much for renting Kedra to us. I hope to be back again next year. (copied off of an email sent to the owner)

Thanks Kelly for allowing us the opportunity to enjoy such an awesome vacation. We were absolutely smitten with North Ga. If you have never been to South Ga in the summer you can not appreciate the difference between the North and South of our state. The weather was not perfect, as we had some rain showers, but the temperature was just to die for. We watched the fireworks at meeks park with chill bumps on our legs. That's never been done here! We laughed when reading the guest book and saw that someone wrote they liked it so much they bought their own place,...well my husband is just about there and it wouldn't take much to convince me either. I saw that Frances responded on the scale and I certainly agree with her comments. The house was certainly in order and BR etc were clean but like she said the dusting could have been better. Of course that just made us feel at home! You have an awesome movie collection for a rental home. I believe the house was exactly what was advertised and then some. Pictures on the web don't do it justice. I think your pricing was fair. And lastly, as Frances mentioned we enjoyed the history of Kedra. It is true that God is good and I believe the blessings on your family is proof of that. Thanks again for sharing your home. We truly enjoyed it. Oh yeah.....about Alexanders....what a store. We left in two vehicles but came home in three thanks to some unusual furniture buys. Made the trip that much more fun!! (entered from email received from guest)

We had a wonderful time at Kedra – the temp was great, no gnats like we have in south GA to bother us, the house was wonderful and spacious to accommodate our two families, the lake was great – we were out on it every day but one. We all enjoyed the ping pong and air hockey and watching “Gone With the Wind” (first time I had seen it since I was a teenager). And we really enjoyed the spacious kitchen and eating area – other than Friday night and Wed lunch, we cooked and enjoyed all of our meals there. Your neighbors were courteous and of course Ollie became an anticipated and welcomed visitor each day. We squeezed in several trips to Alexanders – what a store! We just loved the area and all agreed with could stand living up there on a regular basis! Everyone we encountered in town was so friendly and courteous – just a pleasure in every way. Hi Kelly, I want to thank you and your parents for a wonderful vacation. The house is so beautiful and had everything we need. The pictures on the web site do not do it the justice it deserves. I love the peaceful area also. The neighbors were very nice. My kids loved the place as well, not even one complaint from anyone. That was a first. It was great to bring along the dogs too. They had a blast and slept very well at night from being wore out. My 9 yr old Cocker Spaniel, Bridgette, went fishing with Jeff and I every day. Thank you for allowing pets, they are part of the family and she is getting old so it was nice to share that with her. I now have great pictures and memories. I wrote in the guest book too but I wanted to make sure you know what a great job you're doing with the house. I am also of Irish background so I really enjoyed reading about the history behind the name. Thank you again from the DeLung family. (copied from an email)

Thanks you for sharing your beautiful home with the James' family. We so enjoyed our first (and hopefully not the last) story here. The family all met here from all over the country to celebrate Joan's 75th Birthday. Joan's 4 sons and 2 granddaughters and the "wives" all had a wonderful time boating, fishing and catching up with each other. What a wonderful birthday celebration Joan had here at your home! July 20 - 27 We came in 5 vehicles from Pensacola, Orlando and Jax in celebration of Bill Fisher's 75th birthday plus a 12th, 27th and 31st birthdays for Alexander, Sasha and Jean. The house was tossing and and turning with 4 kids plus a dozen adults for 3 days. A slight reduction to 10 adults gave a bit more breathing room. Each family took a turn with dinners Chicken Bake, Lasagna, All American dogs and burgers, Mexican plus lots of leftovers. Our birthday bash at Enrico's on Lake Chatuge for 18 was fab. Good service, fine wine and fabulous food. Fun on the lake included lots of swimming, jet skiing, doggy encountens. Firefly evenings with campfire marshmallows completed our fun filled days; readying us for a good nights rest in the comfy sheets and quilts . Lots of family togetherness, laughs and games along with many renditions of "Happy, Happy" and "For He's A Jolly Good Fellow" helped to cement many precious memories. Kedra was the ideally perfect setting for our vacation. Proof of a winning week - The Kids wanted to say!

Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! We have been looking for a place big enough for our rapidly growing family and we think we found it! Despite all the recommendations of great stuff to do, we spent our whole vacation at the house or on the lake. That's how we wanted to spend our vacation! We loved that there was room for all of us to eat at the same table and that the house was so well stocked! The flies were a problem, though. We almost couldn't be outside Thanks again and we will definitely be back! Gie (Aunt Kelly...i couldn't really figure out if that's the guy's name or not) and Cindy Filuat (Nana and Papa) Brian, Kendra and Gade(3) Cox Jamie, Jessica, Sam(2 1/2) and jack(10 months) Giancola Dylan, Amanda, Hayden(8), Logan(2 1/2) and wyatt(4 weeks) Sanders Oh-yeah! We thought it was cool that the oldest girl in our family is named Kendra! Weird!
