Enjoy walking down the marina with your cup of coffee in the morning as the sun rises over the lake. Make sure to meet all the friendly folk on their boats!
The Bay Lane Cottage is located on the Point Marine Marina and the Bear Lake Channel which connects 2 popular water-sport lakes - Muskegon Lake and Bear Lake. Through Muskegon Lake, you can travel out to gorgeous Lake Michigan.
From the backyard, enjoy watching the many boats pass through the Bear Lake Channel or travel a mile down the road to the gorgeous Lake Michigan Shoreline and spend the day at the beach. Although a boat slip is not provided, transient slips are available.
For dinner, grill out while watching the fantastic sunsets over the Dunes or walk over to the Bear Lake Tavern across the street. They offer award winning perch along with delicious food and drinks in a fun indoor and outdoor setting. Enjoy live music on Saturday nights all summer long! Afterwards, roast yummy marshmallows over the campfire in your backyard!
The next morning, make sure you book a chartered fishing trip with one of the popular charter fishermen in the channel! Nothing better than hooking that 25 pound King Salmon while watching the sunset on Lake Michigan!
The next day, plan a trip to Michigan's Adventure Amusement Park - it's just a quick 10 minute drive away!
The Lake Michigan Shoreline and Muskegon State Park offer numerous hiking trails and many opportunities to see local wildlife including bald eagles and their nest, red fox, whitetail deer, swans, geese, ducks and our lovely seagulls! Make sure to enjoy a delicious ice cream cone at Ruth Anne's after your hike! We have warships, lighthouses, and submarines nearby that offer tours as well.
If you are a winter traveler- we offer special weekend rates

This home was wonderful! It was very clean and well maintained and was very roomy for the seven of us (4 adults and 3 kids). The owners are great! They went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. They were available for any questions we had and offered helpful suggestions on attractions in the area. The home has a lovely view and a great location. My husband took the kayak out and we took advantage of the fire pit for smores! We would highly recommend this home and plan on returning for a longer stay next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family of 7 had a great time at the beautiful Lake Michigan Beach minutes away from this lovely home. The owners were incredibly attentive to our needs and keep the property clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. The lovely water of the marina and the cool breeze just outside the back door made breakfasts and suppers on the deck enjoyable! North Muskegon is a lovely town with shopping and food conveniently close by. You'll feel very welcome and will be able to relax in the quiet location after spending the day in the sun and sand. We LOVED it and hope we get to go back next year!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

We have spent many days and nights at this lovely home on the Muskegon/Bear Lake channel. It's great for everyone at any age. The back yard has a small fence that will help keep you eye on small children. Large side yard for many games you may want to set up and play. Just across the street you will find a fine tavern/restaurant. We love this home and you will too.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

This is a great spot, especially if you love the water! The access to both Bear Lake and Muskegon Lake can't be beat. The atmosphere around the channel from boaters is warm, friendly and fun! The property itself is great for outdoor activities, as there is lots of room for adult lawn games and a nice fenced area for toddlers. The house is nicely decorated, making you feel right at home. I have stayed at this property three times and have enjoyed it every time. I would highly recommend it!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My girlfriends and I who reside in Chicago wanted to escape the city for a weekend and chose this darling vacation home in West Michigan. We are so thankful we did!! The location is top notch. The house is situated right on the channel and we barely left the backyard (by choice!). It was so much fun watching/chatting with the boaters going by during the day and we enjoyed the most beautiful sunsets at night. For dinner, there is a great restaurant across the street --i recommend the perch! Yum! The owners were outstanding and even had a welcome basket waiting for us after our long drive in from the city. We are so excited to go back to this great spot!! Enjoy!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
