My husband and I (and the dogs) had a great weekend at Bass Pond cabin!! It was so nice and peaceful. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and looking up at the night stars. The cabin itself was cozy and comfortable. The cabin was clean and nicely maintained. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this cabin to family and friends!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

My husband, our dog and I stayed at the cabin the 1st weekend in October. The leaves were beautiful and we all had a great time. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the hot tub and our dog enjoyed exploring the yard and the pond. We travel to the Elkins/Seneca Rocks/Spruce Knob area every October and have stayed many places this was one of the nicest cabins. Although you can see other homes from the front deck the cabin is far enough away that it is private & the hot tub on the back porch is totally private. The only disappoinment is that the fireplace did not work, the button was broken to turn it on - but if that is all there is to complain about ---- then life is good! Although the cabin is close to the New River Gorge - take the time and go a little further and visit the Tamarack in Beckley- where you'll find the best of WV. Overall Super Cabin & Super Location plus the owner was Super to work with:)Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: I'm so glad you enjoyed The Bass Pond Cabin and thank you for your kind comments. I hate the fireplace was broken, too! We were able to locate the replacement part and it was repaired after you left. I hope you can make it back to our neck of the woods in the future and you can cozy up the the fireplace.

You'll enjoy this clean, cozy cabin. You'll have everything you need for cooking, sleeping, bathing and whatever. The knotty pine has a comfy warm feeling about it. The cabin is tatstefully decorated and there were many games, movies, cards, books and things to do. There was everything in the kitchen one could want. We enjoyed our stay, only the weather was bad and we couldn't enjoy the fishing...but weather is one thing you can't do much about, just hope for the best. There was plenty to do inside and when it did clear up we went to the River Gorge which is very close by and enjoyed the attraction of the bridge and nice welcome center. We highly recommend the Bass Cabin for a nice get-away or vacation.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This place was a nice cabin. worked out good for my wife and I as far as location. We did a lot of traveling and this place was ideal for what we did. Only have one complaint there is no internet service and that would have topped off our week. Lot of our stuff we were doing involves the internet. But for the most part it was a great stay. Thanks SamRecommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We had a wonderful time at this cabin, we would have loved to stay longer, the cabin had everything we needed and more. We can't wait til we can go back again. The kids loved fishing at the pond and staying in the hot tub. I love sitting on the deck and drinking coffee in the morning and in the evenings. A beautiful place.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

Me & my husband stayed here the weekend of 2/10/2012..(no kids, just the two of us) It was a wonderful mini-vacation, so relaxing and peaceful. The cabin is beautiful, clean and extremely comfortable. Being a full-time stay at home Mom and college student, this little cabin saved my sanity..it was exactly what I needed to recharge. I would recommend anyone to stay here, any time of the year. The only thing that I was disappointed about was not getting to use the hot tub. It was snowing and 11 degrees outside, but I did get to take a nap in the middle of the day, so that made up for it. :) Me and my husband both loved it here and we look forward to staying here again in the future.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Beautiful cabin in a beautiful location, easy to get to, just off 19, very peaceful and private. We stayed here for our 20th anniversary and enjoyed are stay very much, gave a 4 due to minor details, such as no working light in the electric fireplace and enough lighting over table, but other than that, and the weather being cold and rainy, we loved it and will not hesitate to rent again. This was our second cabin rental in the area, and this by far was the best. Also Billie is very friendly and pleasant to deal withRecommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin from Aug. 21 thru Aug. 26 2011. The owner was very friendly and gave us info on about some things to do around the area. We enjoyed the state parks and the summersville lake. We have stayed many places and I can say this was one of the best! The cabin and the hot tub was very clean which means alot to us. We were very comfortable and enjoyed fishing in the pond. Hope to return sometime in the future!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
