The condo was in a vey convienent location, and loved all of the ammenities availavle on the property or within walking distance. The shops, restaurants, etc were all very nice. The value for the condo over a hotel room was so worth it. The hotels were priced highe then the condo, and to have a kitchen, living room, etc was wonderful.

Wow! What a wonderful stay we had! The condo was beautiful and John was terrific to work with. He made sure that we felt welcome. The condo was exceptionally clean, quite, and very nicely appointed. Our stay at the Commons was a great alternative to the "hustle and bustle" of the typical resorts of the area.We highly recommend this property to anyone who would like a great, quiet adult getaway. Our stay went beyond our expectations. We will definintely be returning.

Not your run-of-the-mill condo. Unique setting (a historical former mental institution!), very charming, well-equiped, clean condo. We loved having coffee each morning at the Higher Grounds coffee shop/roastery just across the street and enjoyed the 1+ mile walk to the lakefront and town. We had a great meal at the Italian restaurant right in the building. The owner was very helpful and friendly. Only one suggestion, and this may not be of interest to others: the bed mattress was a bit firm for my liking.

We spent a long weekend at John's condo, and it was fantastic! The condo was just the right size for the two of us, and it was nicely located about half way between the charming downtown area and the more commercial shopping district. The lower level shops were a treat to have so close, and the atmosphere of the building itself is truly one of a kind!

While my daughter was at nearby Interlochen, I spent two weeks split between this condo and John's other unit in the building. Both were beautiful, with wonderful attention to detail and nice amenities. The location was perfect for visiting concerts at Interlochen and hopping on a bike to explore Traverse City and the environs. I am an artist and appreciated the wonderful light, high ceilings and interesting history of this condo. It was nice to be able to walk downstairs for a great latte, for dinner at one of the best restaurants in the state (Stella's) and wine tasting. I would love to return.

We spent July 13-24 at this beautiful condo. The location was great! 3rd floor condo with coffee shop, deli, shopping at street level. With all the events, etc within the village the condo was surprisingly quiet. Large, clean kitchen, everything you would need. Laundry facilities were just a few doors down. Excellent value. While we go to TC each year we had not stayed in the Commons before but will make a point of coming back to this location. Our favorite restaurants are Poppycocks and a new one, The Soul Hole.

We (a young couple) stayed in this condo for a week in the summer 2011. John was wonderful to work with. Being first time visitors, he was extremely helpful with directions and ideas for things to do and places to see, etc. It is a great location to downtown Traverse City, Old Mission Peninsula where many wineries reside, and not a bad drive to Mackinac Island. The unit is in pristine condition and worked very well for us. The village has charm and history with a new, up-to-date feeling. If we come back to TC, we will definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay in the beautiful, clean, fully furnished, charming and centrally located condo in the Commons. We wandered around the ground floor to find lovely restaurants, coffee shops, art displays and many other interesting shops. It was fun to walk outside in the park - as we discovered more quaint eateries, friendly quests, and a lush green landscape. The architecture of the whole complex took us back in time and we were glad that it is being refurbished so that many of us can enjoy it. Our owners were friendly, helpful and had good suggestions. We will recommend this condo to our friends and will come back for additional stays. I could have stayed much longer, as Traverse City is a jewel as well as the whole surrounding area.

We had a real restful and comfortable stay at this property. Everything was clean, and it had all the comforts of home . The area was very quiet and just a short drive to the downtown area, central to shops and eateries. John made us feel so welcome; assisted us with all our needs. We had little extras that made our visit special. His restaurant recommendations were excellent. Suffice it to say that we found John to be a wonderful host. We hope to return soon!
