This property offers year round multigenerational fun and relaxation.
Tucked into 7 acres of peaceful Pines, colorful Oaks and Maples and protected by tall Sand stone bluffs, is a nature lover’s paradise. This clean and comfortable retreat, is just 30 minutes from Wisconsin Dells. It is located on your own small private lake shared only with wildlife and the near by Hemlock County Park. The lake is ideal for canoeing/kayaking, fishing and nature watching or ice skating in the winter. If you want bigger boating pleasures, just 2-3 miles away are 2 beautiful large lakes with excellent fishing, boating and swimming.
Wildlife in the woods includes Turkeys, deer, fox, raccoons, 3 types of squirrels and many song birds including a family of Palliated Woodpeckers. Fish the lake for Northern, bass and perch. For the safety of all there is no hunting allowed on the property.
Adjacent to the property is the 400 Wisconsin Bike trail, taking you all the way to the Mississippi River. The trail is great for biking, hiking, horseback riding and in the winter: snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. Bike or walk the 400 trail 1 mile into LaValle where you will find restaurants, antique malls and gift shops. The scenic country side of wooded hills is home to many Amish farms with horse and buggies everywhere. Horseback riding is 3 miles away and the quaint town of Reedsburg is just 9 miles from the property.
This is the ideal location for families wanting to visit the activities in the exciting Wisconsin Dells but relax in the evening with peace and quiet.
Lodge Rental Amenities
The house features a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, with stainless appliances, granite counter tops, dishwasher, toaster and microwave. An island plus a small dining table with great views of the bluffs allow for casual dining in the kitchen/great room area. Dishes and flatware for 12, cookware and linens are included. A beautiful great room features vaulted ceilings, a wood burning stove, hardwood floors, floor to ceiling windows, flat screen TV and DVD player. Internet and cable are available in the main house. The dining room adjacent the great room has 3 walls of large windows for viewing the woods and lake. Table will seat 6-8
The guest bedroom is on the first floor with a full size antique four-post bed, dresser, night stand and small window air conditioner. The main floor bathroom has a shower and is adjacent the bedroom and kitchen. The upper master bedroom has a hand crafted queen size bed, handcrafted log bunkbeds, a walk in closet, night stand, and bathroom with shower. The loft over looks the great room has a queen bed. The loft also has a large window unit air conditioner that cools the entire house very comfortable. A relaxing screened in porch offers a 2 seated swing and dinning table for 6-8. A large adjoining deck has a gas grill and outdoor furniture.
The summer room above the garage next to the house has a double bed, night stand and lights, ceiling fan and window air conditioner. There is not a bathroom in this building.
A large game room in a separate building is perfect for watching movies, playing games or an escape for noisy children(or adults). The ping-pong table also provided hours of entertainment. There are two day beds for lounging or extra sleeping. This room also features a mini bar and a bathroom and shower.
Paddle the lake in the canoe bike the 400 trail with one of our many bikes and you are bound to see wildlife. Trail passes can be purchased in town or on the trail.
End your day around the fire pit with glass of wine, roasting smores and gazing at the stars.
Please note: This property is perfect for family gatherings and vacations, and we would like to keep it that way. We discourage groups intending to have a one or two night party from inquiring. We will retain your damage deposit due to damaged property or excessive cleaning, above normal wear and tear. Thank you.

We visited with our brother's family and cousin's family, and it was just what we were looking for. The kids got to ice skate on the lake and Reedsburg had a winter festival going on so we went to sled at the golf course and had a great time. The local information was all set out for us in the house. The guys got to ice fish and loved it. It's very secluded and wooded. Everything is wonderfully maintained and clean. Directions for everything were very clear. Best of all we had plenty of room to just visit, play games and catch up with each other. The game room was really nice for the kids especially. A family could easily stay there since it had a bathroom as well as coffeemaker, small fridge and a little kitchen sink. A great weekend that I would recommend to anyone, in any season!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

We had a wonderfull time at this cabin, the owners were hands on and very friendly throughout e-mails and in person once we got there. Its very private out there, a lot to do and a lot of room if you are many people. You can hike, skate on the lake, ice-fish, enjoy the fire outside or inside, play games in the game room, etc. I highly recommend it and probably will try to rent it out again in the future.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

We've stayed in a lot of different rental vacation homes and this is definitely one of, if not the best one we've ever stayed in. The pictures on the web site cannot convey the beauty of this place. It is extremely well maintained in a very peaceful setting. We had 6 adults and there was ample room for all. We plan on making this our annual vacation spot.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

My family and I were so happy with our stay at Sandy Bluffs. The property was absolutely beautiful, and impecably maintained. My husband and I took our 4 year old daughter, and my 90 year old grandmother to the retreat for a family vacation. It was a perfect fit for both! My daughter loved the lake, and the fire pit where we roasted marshmallows. She enjoyed playing with all the games, and reading the books that the hosts thoughtfully had around the house. My grandmother also had a wonderful time! It was perfect for her; she was so comfortable! The large screened in porch was well used! My husband and I loved walking on the trails, and riding bikes(provided) on the 400 Bike Trail. We loved our time here, and look forward to having another family vacation here!!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

This house was amazing. We had so made so much good memories and the property was perfect in a every way. It's a perfect place for family vacation or couples getaway. The house and the surrounding area looks much better in real life and the description was accurate.. We had everything we needed in the house, literally. (From grill to board games) I have to say that it exceeded our expectations. The view was superb(just like looking at a picture). The whole place was very clean. I would recommend this house to everyone. But I must ask whoever's renting this house to treat this place nicely. Because the owners are real nice and they work hard to keep it perfect. My entire family and I had a great time at Sandy Bluffs Retreat. There is plenty of room and with the other buildings to hang out in everyone had their own space. The campfire pit was awesome. The entire atmosphere was relaxing and just made our vacation soo enjoyable. The location is only 1/2 an hour from the Dells which made it very accessable. Thank you for such a wonderful place to call home for a week.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

As soon as we arrived we knew it would be perfect. Very impressive and beautiful. Each room and building gets better. With 4 teenagers it was very nice to allow them to have their own space but still have family time. One took the Summer Room and one took the Game Room to sleep in. The others found their private rooms but there was plenty of space if they wanted to double up. This would be great for a multifamily retreat or as in our case one family with two dogs. The dogs loved the bike trail and it was fun to ride into town on the bikes. The house is just a short ride to the Dells and Devil's Lake. This house did not disappoint. Stayed at Sandy Bluffs with sisters and mom for a long girl's weekend. Very peaceful - you could hear the sounds of the pine needles in the breeze. The trees and the shade from the cliff kept it cool on a warm weekend. The house was great - beautifully decorated. We loved the back porch and dining room the best for visiting, snacking, or playing games. Took advantage of the bike trail (the flattest trail I have been on - an easy trip to Reedsburg) and golf in Reedsburg. Also drove into Baraboo for the Circus Museum (fun for all ages). We didn't take advantage of the fire pit - there was some kind of bug hatching that weekend that drove us crazy - hard to keep them out of the house even when taking precautions to keep them out, but it was our only complaint. The pond is small, but nice to canoe around and we saw lot's of birds and water lilies. People were out fishing the pond and it looked like they were having some luck. We would all recommend this place - lot's of room for everyone and great peace. The house at Sandy Bluffs was beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable and well stocked with everything you need for a night or week(s). We had a lot of fun there making s'mores by the campfire, playing in the game room or just relaxing watching a movie. My family loved it! We did a lot of the activities in Wisconsin Dells, including the watermark at Kalahari, the Deer Park, which was amazing and Wizard Quest. I would definitely recommend those 3 activities for sure when visiting. We would definitely go there again if we ever went back to Wisconsin Dells.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

About the owner: We built this property for our vacation home and then lived here full time for 11 years. This property is very special to us. We own the Blue Heron home furnishings store and Hatchlings toy store for kids in downtown Reedsburg and love being part of this community.

Looking for a vacation retreat of our own, we fell in love with this property and built a getaway for ourselves. We've had many gathering of groups of all kinds and have loved entertaining on the property.
