  Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home and location were absolutely perfect...I would not hesitate staying here again. A couple of suggestions: . Do not have renters be responsible for lugging the garbage all the way up the hill to the main road (for example, my small car could not fit the garbage bins in) and it would not be practical to lug them by hand up the hill. This should be taken care of for all renters. Also, there was no direction on recycling....I would suggest special recycle bins and some guideance on this. On another topic, one of my guests who stayed in the north room (facing ocean, not master room) indicated that a new mattress was needed, as it sagged at the edges). Thanks again for a great stay.

The only issue was that the house was not cleaned when we arrived but that was resolved.

Honu Lani is spacious, clean and set in a wonderful location which overlooks a river and distant ocean views in northern Kauai. The management staff is attentive, professional, and always a pleasure to work.

House was in excellent condition and had everything we needed, including kitchen items, beach chairs and towels, etc.. Expansive deck had gorgeous view of the Kilauea River (?) valley, the river, and the ocean beyond. This is not an ocean-front property, but if you can live with driving to the beach, you'll love the house.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: While the furnishing were showing there age from years of rental abuse it's really all about the home, its location and that wonderful lanai. Up at dawn the river valley below comes alive with so many sounds of waking birds, small white cranes fly up and directly over the home and the colors of the tropical forest are indescribable. When the sun goes down there are no lights to be seen anywhere making the stars in the night sky unreal. Absolutely beautiful. This is just a beautiful home in an unbelievable location. Just a short drive to Princeville for groceries and many great beaches nearby. So many advantages staying in a home over a condo or hotel. My son even enjoyed catching frogs on the front lawn at night. Can't wait to come back.

Reviewer Comments: The house is a great spot if you want privacy and seclusion, but still want easu accessibility to all of the attractions the North Shore has to offer. We were very excited about our stay based on previous reviews and pictures, and the house actually exceeded those expectations. We will definitely be back.
