Our family just came back from a great stay at Sand Mix. This was our first time staying on the 4x4 beach at OBX and we loved the area and this lovely,cozy house. Perfect location with gorgeous views! The top deck was awesome for sunrises. Lots of privacy yet close to main road for all your needs. We saw horses everyday. The owners are very nice and helpful. We would highly recommend the house for a wonderful vacation.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Our stay at the sand mix was fantastic! The cottage is beautiful and exactly as explained in the listing. The owners are very nice people and great to work with. The area is amazing, in my opinion the best place to stay in the Outer Banks! Our family consisted of three adults, three teenagers, a toddler and a dog. Even with a mix of ages and interests, we all were happy with the stay. The beach was a short walk and easy to access. The added bonus was that we could drive all of our beach things and did not have to carry anything. Shopping and entertainment is a short distance away but the area around the cottage is peaceful and secluded. We will definitely be returning!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We just returned from two perfectly beautiful weeks on the outer banks. Our time spent at Mixluxurious was just great. This was our second year in a row at this beach house and I would recommend it to anyone. This home really is a warm and cozy beach house. Located just the right distance up the 4 x 4 beach. The views are absolutely great, the beach not crowded and the daily visits by the horses are just wonderful. With this home you have everything you need for the perfect obx vacation. We will be back next year.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

This is a great place to stay in the 4x4 area. It is close to the beach and yet not too far from the main road. The description where the house is spot on. It is a beautiful home with everything you need. The views are great from all the decks and the hot tub is fantastic. The owners are wonderful to work with. We saw horses everyday; either in the yard or nearby as we walked around. Our Dog loved it here. We can not wait to return and would highly recommend this home for a vacation.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

This house was perfect for us! It was close to the beach, has great ocean views, and everything we needed for our family vacation. Another great week at Sand Mix!! This was the second time my family vacationed at the Sand Mix and it was the best yet. We enjoyed the spacious house and wonderful views from the many decks. Our vacation was complete with daily visits from the wild horses. I definitely recommend this house. We are so happy we chose The Sand Mix for our recent stay at the Outer Banks. The photos don't do it justice! The house was very nice inside, and well kept, We had four adults and 2 dogs, and still had plenty of room. We also found a brand new deck on the back side of the home overlooking the dunes, which was perfect for catching the last rays of sun every evening. One morning, we acutally woke to find 7 horses grazing around the house. It was such a neat experience! The location is perfect. Away from the hustle and bustle of town, but just a short drive if you have to run to the store. The owners are so easy to work with. They actually told us about a great park up the beach near the fire station, where we decided to have a picnic lunch while we were out exploring one day. If your looking for the perfect mix for your next OBX stay, The Sand Mix is your ticket.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We needed a place to stay for a weekend wedding in the outer banks. We arrived late and night and found the house easily, however we are used to staying in the 4wd area. The house was beautiful and well appointed. The owner went out of his way to make sure the hot tub was ready for our use on short notice of 1-2 days. We awoke to wild hourses adjacent to our property and also saw some other wildlife while we were there. The multi level decks were great and offered great secluded views on the sound side, as well as an ocean view. We will definately be renting this property again. The house was great! It has a great floor plan and plenty of room (everyone with their own bathroom and television). Also, the location was great...didn't have to drive too far down the beach but still was remote. We had horses that stayed within viewing distance basically our whole trip. We plan to rent this house in the future for another visit!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

This home was wonderful! This was our first trip to the outer banks and loved the four wheel drive area and home. It offered great privacy, as well as very close availablity of the beach. You could walk to the beach or drive your vehicle out there and enjoy the day. We had such a good time and would definitely go back. We had the wild horses visit us several times during our stay, too. A great experience all the way around.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.
