This is our 3rd. year staying at Colony Cove after vacationing for several years on St. John and St. Thomas. We were very excited to be returning to St. Croix for the Month of March and staying in this unit for the first time. Upon arrival we knew we had returned to Paradise with the newly painted exteriors, amazing views and gardens and as always the helpful and friendly staff. Everything is exactly like the description and beautiful pictures. We want to thank the owners Lynda and George for sharing their Home Away from Home with us and look forward to returning next year.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We just completed our first visit to the island of St. Croix. We loved it and the Colony Cove location is ideal for exploring all parts of the island. Lynda and George have a done a great job in making sure the unit is well appointed and the kitchen is very well equipped. They also provided lots of info about what to do and see, and where to eat. We enjoyed late afternoons on the gallery having our chips and beer while looking over the pool and Caribbean. The staff was all very friendly, especially at the front desk and the security personnel. It took a few days to get used to driving on the left and dealing with roads with not-so-great signage, but ultimately got the hang of it. If you want a tropical environment with a decidedly American feel, St. Croix is a great choice, and we would highly recommend this unit to complete your stay. We plan to return!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful month stay at this condo! It was very clean and the rooms were large and spacious! The beach and pool were seconds away. The condo was located only minutes away from Christiansted and close to everything you could imagine to do! I highly recommend this place, you will not be dissatisfied!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

I have vacationed many times in St. Croix over the last 25 years, and it is indeed one of my favorite places to be, holding many fond memories and experiences. This trip was a very special girl friends' get away, and Colony Cove was a perfect location with a gated community, very friendly and helpful staff, and all the comforts of home. This unit was very spacious and clean with two air conditioned bedrooms, full kitchen and living room with a large deck overlooking the Carribean Sea and pool area. We enjoyed eating most of our meals on the deck. It was so relaxing being out there! Everything seemed to have our comfort in mind. There were even beach chairs and snorkeling equipment that we could take to the beach. The owners were very helpful to answer our many questions. Having a .washer/dryer in this unit was very helpful. Grocery shopping was a short walk, with a great selection of foods in Food Town. The daytime temperature reached 100 in Virginia while I was away, but the average temperature was 85 in St Croix. Delightful! The diving was a real treat for me. It has been many years since I dove in St. Croix. I especially enjoyed diving the wall in Cane Bay, and the Fredricksted pier for a night dive. Lots of critters there! What fun the whole trip was, and I would certainly recommend this property to my other friends. I hope to come back to this same unit next year. I couldn't have made a better choice in staying here.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

A clean, fabulously located gated community, wonderful for anyone -- but especially two women alone on a girlfriends’ getaway! On-site security, full kitchen with full-sized everything, big deck with rustling palm trees almost within reach, plus view of pool, the glistening sea, and Christiansted and Buck Island beyond. We loved it here! Pictures shown and descriptions provided on this listing are exact. Colony Cove staff is extremely friendly (as is everyone in St. Croix). Common property is pretty and very well-maintained. This particular second-floor unit is situated for terrific views that some other units in Colony Cove don’t offer. Also, it is perfectly located just around the corner from one of the beachfront restaurants -- far enough around the bend for quiet but close enough to crawl home. Everyone who signed the coffee table guest book was equally enthusiastic about Colony Cove itself and this specific unit. We used the big clean grill by the pool, swam while food cooked, and stepped from pool to the beach to relax in a hammock strung between two palm trees. A stiff breeze kept us cool. Heavenly! Owners are wonderful: they’ll answer all your questions and provide hints on what to see, do and not do. Their love of this island is evident. Grocery store is an easy 5-minute walk. You can rent a car or use the network of cab drivers; a taxi will be there within minutes. It’s a short ride to Christiansted, where there’s quick access to everything. We were here July 2011 when the States had its heat wave, and I rarely turned on my air conditioner! Cool sea breezes and all the lush vegetation made for a very pleasant temperature. And, no bugs! Leave your beach towels and snorkeling gear at home; the Colony Cove front desk will lend what you need for your entire stay! If you’re reading about St. Croix accommodations then you’re already sold on St. Croix itself, which to me is far more fun, beautiful, home-like and relaxing than several of the nearby islands. The topography is fantastic: mountains sloping down to sandy beaches filled with palm trees, clear blue water and usually a rum drink nearby. There is so much to do! You might say that all the islands offer snorkeling, scuba, shops, tours, great people, etc., but there’s something about St. Croix that’s a little different, a little better, more laid back, friendlier, definitely more scenic…. It’s really a special place. We’re sad to leave but others are coming in next week. To travel or not to travel...in this economy, that's a good question! On one hand, our house hold budget is stretched, on the other hand there are so many affordable deals out there! So we went for it. Escaping the snowy Philadelphia area to relax in the sun for Christmas 2010, we really enjoyed our stay in Colony Cove. We are a well traveled family that will not stand for inferior living quarters. I was referred to this particular condo through a very discerning friend. The owner gave me terrific instructions & invaluable tips about the unit, the complex, & the island. Everything from the rental car, driving directions, & favorite restuarants were all good tips from our host. What a find! The unit was clean, modern, & well laid out with the bedroom & living areas separate. The unit's washer/dryer allowed myself, my wife, & 2 college girls to travel light with just "Carry-on" luggage. Traveling is so mucher nicer that way! Colony Cove's staff was friendly, helpful, & actually fun to talk to. This gated community is minutes from Christiansted, food stores to shop for "at-home meals", & island "to do's". The pool and gas grill avaiable to guests, made for a fun evening & a terrific respite from always going out for dinner. The beach directly in front of the complex was "just OK", but with so many incredible beaches, each with their own charms, we spent every day at another spot. All in all, Colony Cove & St. Croix were very relaxing, affordable, & full of interesting experiences. Memorable moments? Realizing that the various counties & there names are former plantations, driving on the "other" side of the road with my entire family chanting "think left, think left, think left" as we drove the island, watching the sun rise at the eastern most part of the United States (Udall Point), attending midnight mass on Christmas Eve in a Catholic church in "Barren Spot", boogey boarding the surf at Carambola and suddenly seeing 20 scuba divers walk out of the ocean after diving "The Wall", snorkeling an underwater national park off Buck island, grabbing a burger at "Cheeseburgers in Paradise", hiking from "Carambola to the Hidden Pools", touring the fort in Christensted, eating dessert in Fredericksted at sunset, visiting plantation ruins, touring the rum factory & sampling the rum afterwards, finding my way through the rain forrest to witness a pig open beer cans & drink the beer, eating goat one day & wiskey lobster the next, & best of all...relaxing.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
