Beautiful property with horse setup. Miles and miles of riding right form the house. Relax on the large back deck overlooking the lake. Perfect spot to have a barbecue while watching the setting sun.
Three bedrooms on the top level. King bed in master, queen bed in second bedroom, two twin beds in third bedroom. All three bedrooms and main living area on main level. Additional living room in lower level.
Home is located in a gated community with 36 miles of hiking/horseback riding in the development. Hundreds of miles of
trails outside the development.

Everything about our stay was excellent. The home is beautifully located in a wonderful gated community. The views and surroundings are so enjoyable. The owner is very communicative and made the whole process very smooth. I highly recommend staying here - we will again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

After living in California for 30 years, my wife and I moved to Georgia a year ago, leaving our grown children behind. When we came back to California for Christmas, we wanted to find a house where my sons, our new daughter-in-law and our daughter could gather and talk, play games, sip hot cocoa and enjoy each others company. The 'Cool' house was perfect. It was better than we had assumed based on the VRBO ad. Roomy for the 6 of us, comfortable beds, satellite TV (new HD TV), wifi, and best of all, hospitality and kindness by the host. Thank you!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our stay was fantastic! We really enjoyed the house, everything was good. The deer are really cute and we loved seeing them right off the deck! The only thing I was missing was my horses. I wish I could have brought them with me and taken advantage of some of the great trails around the Cool area.Recommended for: Pet owners, age 55+, adventure seekers.

My wife and I spent a weekend with friends of my daughter and her fiance' at this property in Cool and found it very comfortable and enjoyable. The location is very quiet and breakfast/evenings on the patio were great with deer and wildlife all around. Wonderful new bbq for cooking for the group outside and the kitchen worked out well for the rest of the meals. Great location for rafting out of Coloma (20 minutes away) and only a short drive to the store if you need more supplies or beverages. My only complaints are that the cable TV had limited channels for Saturday/Sunday football and no ESPN and cell service is a little spotty but it was a great escape. Highly recommended for families and groups of adults.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.
Owner response: Hello all. Since this review, I have added Directv with full channel capability and we now have a new 46" flat panel TV as well.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this property. It has everything one would need, and more. It is so peaceful to sit out on the deck and enjoy all of the surroundings. Plus, it is a great location for white water river rafting, going to Folsom Lake, hiking or heading over to Tahoe. We would highly recommend renting this home. The owner was very pleasant and communicative with us.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

This is a wonderfully-maintained house set on a small acreage. We enjoyed sitting on the rear deck, listening to swimmers in the nearby small lake. A mother deer and two fawn were frequently visible. The house had all the amenities of home. There are many outdoor recreational activities in the area, so it is a good home base for day trips/hikes. The owner is very hospitable and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

About the owner: I own a Home Theater business in the Bay Area. This home provides a nice break from the hectic pace of city life. I love to ride my horse or hike on all beautiful mountain trails. I also enjoy riding my motorcycle on the windy mountain roads throughout the Sierra Nevada.
Why the Owner Chose Cool:
We choose this location because it is in a quiet gated community that feels like you are really in the country. It is only 15 miles from the gold discovery location, Coloma. You can be skiing in one hour.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love to swim in the American river. The North and South forks meet at a beautiful spot 10 minutes from the house. We also like driving to South Lake Tahoe to enjoy fun day trips.
