This beachblock home in Barnegat Light, has a great upside down contemporary design that is flooded with light and beautiful breezes. The open living space includes the living room, dining area, kitchen and power room on the top floor. The lower floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 new baths and a laundry area. There are five large decks - two off the front, one on each floor and two off the back, one on each floor and one rooftop deck with a 360 degree view – see the ocean, sunsets and a clear view of the working Barnegat Light House. The upper back deck right off the dining area is equipped with a gas grill and outdoor dining for up to 10 people. The front deck and roof are furnished with lounge chairs and other comfortable seating.
Barnegat Light is on the north end of Long Beach Island and is home of 'Old Barney,' Lighthouse. There are tennis courts on 11th street one block to the west from this house. A short bike ride or walk is Viking Village, an historic fishing village that has been turned into quaint gift and antique shops. On several weekends throughout the summer there are arts and crafts shows in the village. The commercial fishing in next to Viking Village and is a great place to buy the freshest seafood you'll find on the island. They also offer charter fishing trips and boat rentals. There are several casual dining establishments, ice cream, liqueur store, and great breakfast eateries, gift shops, antiques and the seashore variety store. If you drive south on the island through Loveladies, Harvey Cedars, Surf City, Beach Haven, you will find many other restaurants and seashore attractions along the way – shopping, dining, mini golf and the Loveladies community Center with art exhibits, yoga, arts and crafts classes, children’s camps, etc. Barnegat Light is a great family destination and a reminder of what the New Jersey shore was 30 years ago. It has retained much of its’ natural beauty by protecting the dunes and limiting the commercial development. It is a treasure of enjoy.

I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that we had a great week at your place. It was very spacious and we were able to enjoy lots of sunshine at the house as well as at the beach. This home is lovely. You can choose a deck that provides a panoramic view, or one that provides shade, or one that provides sun! The choice is yours! Home is very very well maintained and spotless. The kitchen is well stocked. Perfect area for biking, walking, enjoying the breathtaking beach. The owners were extremely cooperative in facilitating our stay. I would definitely recommend. M. We loved staying in this spacious home! There are so many decks to choose from to enjoy the sea breeze, sunset/sunrise or birds flying by. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well equipped and the house has a wonderfully calm and relaxed feel to it. A short walk to the beach, restaurants and downtown area. Highly recommend!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: My husband is a native of New Jersey and spent much of his childhood summers on the Jersey shore. I was originally from the mid-west and moved to New Jersey in the early 60s. Because my parents were both mid-westerners, the thought of sitting on the beach in the sun and sand was not their idea of fun. I finally talked my parents into taking me to the shore after we moved to the Philadelphia area and everyone talked about going 'down the shore.' One visit was all it took to get me hooked. I dreamed of owning a home at the beach. Over the years I have spent time in shore areas up and down the Jersey coast but feel most at home in Barnegat Light on Long Beach Island.
Why the Owner Chose Barnegat Light:
We decided to buy a vacation home in Barnegat Light becasue of the character of the area. It is a family oriented community that has restricted commercial development. The natural dunes are protected and are spectacular especially in the late afternoon light. The fishing is great here so whether you catch your own or buy seafood at the local fish market, it is the freshest you'll find anywhere. If you are looking for ammusment rides, boardwalks and cotten candy, you won't find that in Barnegat Light. But you can take a short ride south on the island to Beach Haven and find those attractions.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The most outstanding feature of this house is the open living space that allows the family to be together without being on top of each other. There is plenty of comfortable seating and areas to relax. The main living area is on the top floor with two spacious decks - one off the front and one off the back. It is bright and cheerful and catches the ocean breeze. There is a view of the ocean from the front deck and a clear view of 'Old Barney' from the back deck.
