Glacier National Park and The Great Bear Wilderness area are within walking distance from this unique 2 bedroom cabin. This unique cabin was built during the railroad era of the 1940's. The cabin is conveniently located in Glacier Park Country on the south side of the Park clearly off Highway 2 in Essex, Montana.
The cabin happens to be through the forest and down a trail to the Amtrak stop and two blocks away from the famous historical hotel, the Izaak Walton Inn. The Inn has a fine dining restaurant, full day tours of Glacier National Park and even car rentals are available. In the winter you can enjoy miles of cross country trails, with sections lit up at night.
From the front door of the cabin you look up into Glacier National Park. From the back door you are looking into the Great Bear Wilderness area. There are literally miles of hiking trails with the Middle Fork of the Flathead River a short walk away. The river offers great fishing, kayaking and rafting during the summer months. . A few miles up the road you can visit the Goat Lick in Glacier National Park.
If you want to visit Glacier Park, hike endless trails, fish, raft or just relax, this is a perfect location.
The cabin is impressively decorated in a rustic mountain decor with historical accents displaying Glacier National Park and the Great Northern Railway.

About the owner: I run a local business 11 miles east of the cabin called The Snow Slip Inn. We have a cafe open daily for all meals and a campground and motel units. If you're staying in Glacier Country stopping by the Snow Slip is like walking into the past. Good service is what the Snow Slip is all about. Come join us
