319 is a studio apartment with a queen bed, a two person table, a love seat and a nice kitchen area. It has a private bath with a tub/shower. It's similar to a large hotel room with a full kitchen. And it's a great building, a great location and very comfortable. Plus we're less expensive than a hotel.
St. John's was, for 100 years, just an apartment building. In 2005 we decided to add short term rentals and converted six of our apartments over the last 7 years. This apartment was converted last fall (in August of 2012) after a long term tenant moved out. It's a great little apartment. It's on the Harvard Avenue side of the building, so it's quiet with very little noise from the street.
The kitchen is small but well stocked. It has a gas range with oven and also a Sharpe microwave oven that has convection. There's also all the small appliances you might need like a toaster and blender, and all the dishes and cooking utensils, pots and pans, etc. It's easy to stay there and cook and not have to pay expensive restaurant bills for every meal. And there's a great grocery store across the street, so nothing could be more convenient.
Although you can save money and eat in the apartment we are surrounded by many great restaurants and it's hard not to want to go out and enjoy them. Our neighborhood is very busy and popular and there is lots to do right where we are. And it's a short walk to the middle of downtown Seattle where all the big stores will demand your attention. Everybody talks about location in their ads. St. John's actually has a great one.
Our manager, Johnny, will check you in and be there for you if you need anything. He's a restaurant critic at heart and will give you suggestions on where to go to eat. He's also got all the interesting things Seattle has to offer in his head, and can give directions and advice and just about anything you might want to consider. When you read our reviews you'll see how many times he's complimented on his helpfulness. It's really a nice thing to have someone around that is available 24/7 if you need anything. That's one of the benefits of staying at St. John's.
There is a large back deck with barbecue and picnic table and you're welcome to enjoy that while you stay with us. It faces south so it's a nice place to hang out on a summer afternoon; warm and private.
We have a large website with lots of photos of the building and the neighborhood. It has a link to our on-line reservation system, so it's easy to just go there and make a reservation for the apartment if it's available. In the summer we are always fully booked and usually far in advance, so we advise trying to make your decisions as early as you can if you want to stay with us.
