Nestled in the vibrant, yet quiet heart of beautiful Brentwood Bay, (British Columbia) this gracious and spacious vacation home is the perfect West Coast getaway. Located approximately 15 minutes from the ferry, downtown Victoria, Victoria International airport and with convenient access to the rest of the Island via the Brentwood Bay ferry, this home is the ideal location when visiting Victoria and Vancouver Island.
This all-season destination provides a relaxingly beautiful and all-inclusive home within walking distance of the world-famous Butchart Gardens and the teeming Pacific Ocean.
Enjoy (a board game, a book or watch DVD from extensive family friendly collection) a cozy living room that boasts gigantic windows which catch blue skies, mountains, green forest and ocean views; a gas fireplace with floor-to-ceiling stone; vaulted ceilings; a 47” flat screen TV; and plenty of comfortable seating.
Savory memories and meals are yours to create in the fully-equipped country kitchen, complete with a large dining room table and a sundeck with a BBQ. A great place to enjoy your morning coffee or a quiet book.
After hours of connection or reflection, one can ascend the arcing staircase to the heavenly beds available in all of the three rooms on the second floor and get what everyone needs on vacation: rest.
The Sunset room provides a lovely queen-sized bed ensconced in West Coast decor while the Sunrise room's lighthouse artwork watches over a very comfortable trundle bed that can be 2 separate single beds or easily converted to a king size bed. A full, bright bath (shower/bathtub) rests in between those two rooms; the third room, the Ocean vista, has an en-suite with a shower of its own. Whether it serves as a honeymoon suite or a reflective retreat, this calm, bright, and big room will feel like home.
Of course, a laundry room with full washer/dryer is downstairs should your jaunts along the coast spur you to adventure. Need anything more than privacy, such as directions to walking trails, quaint restaurants, or a massage at a 5-star resort? A property manager will be on the premises and happy to assist you.
Looking for a destination for Christmas, arrangements can be made to have the 10 foot tree decorated and waiting for your holiday celebration away from home.
As pristine inside as it is out, your adventure can’t be more simple and beautiful than this Hagan Road Hideaway. It has everything you need and more to enjoy a hassle-free and memorable vacation. Come once and you’ll come back!

We had a great short stay. We arrived on ferry from Mill Bay which is a lovely way to reach Brentwood Bay from Nanaimo direction. Lovely accommodation and well resourced kitchen. Highly recommend a visit to Butchart Gardens on sunny winter day which is spectacular and only five minutes drive as are local shops. Hosts were very welcoming and made our stay very comfortable.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Spacious, clean, comfortable and conveniently located. A short stroll will bring you to the cozy harbor dock. There is a great kitchen for those who like to cook and a very nice visiting area in the living room. Great beds! I have stayed a couple of times and have been warmly welcomed. This is a place I would recommend.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

An absolutely stunningly beautiful, comfortable, quiet, spacious, and clean place to call "home away from home". I have stayed here many times (for personal retreats, business trips, and family vacation) and definitely recommend Karen & Ross Harmsworth's vacation home to anyone, at any time of year, for any occasion. One of my favourite experiences was the beautiful walk I took through the quiet and safe neighbourhood to the marina where I sat on the long dock and marveled at the starfish and jellyfish underneath. So much beauty to explore in Victoria and this home is close to it all! I can't wait until my next trip! THANK YOU Karen and Ross - you made my visits to Victoria, B.C. feel very welcoming and relaxing! Until next time :)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

I give this property 5 STARS! I have stayed several times at the Harmsworths vacation home, and it has always been an excellent experience. The Brentwood Bay area is a quiet and quaint community close to Victoria with beautiful parks and scenery all around. It's an easy 15 minute jaunt to downtown Victoria shopping and amenities and even closer to the ferry terminal(s). The first word that comes to mind in describing the vacation home is "peaceful"- the atmosphere is relaxing and very comfortable with great attention to detail. The Harmsworths have tried to think of every need when preparing their home for others, and it shows. In my opinion as a cook- with high standards in the kitchen, Karen has done a lovely job of designing and outfitting this space for ease of use by guests. I have found the beds comfortable and the neighbourhood quiet, so I have always had a good nights sleep there- I highly recommend this property if you want to stay in the Victoria area!Did you find this review helpful? What a great getaway to stay in. The location is quiet and away from the busy of downtown but only a short drive to get there if you want to and so much more. As for the house, it was clean, spacious with lots of room but cozy at the same time. Enjoyed many nights just having the fireplace going while sitting back and watching movies from the huge selection on hand. Everything you need and more is readily available whether it's for hosting a few people for a business type meeting or just having a few friends over for a casual social. From the first time I meet Ross and Karen, I felt so at ease with them both. They are both so welcoming, friendly and helpful. I would strongly recommend that when you visit Victoria Island you use this little secret hideaway as your home away from home, I know for myself and my family this home will always be the first place we look to book when visiting the island on business or pleasure.Did you find this review helpful? We have stayed at this beautiful and peaceful home many times over the past few years. It is cozy, clean, professionally and tastefully decorated and ideal for a quiet getaway, connecting with friends on the island, or for business trips with the conveniences of home! We've always enjoyed staying here. We appreciate the quiet neighbourhood, the lack of sounds of traffic and love that it is ideally located just minutes from Butchart Gardens, the airport and ferry and downtown Victoria is about 15 minutes away. Karen & Ross have always been kind and courteous. They took the time to show us how to use the appliances and where everything was kept. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home for your vacation getaway or business trip. We look forward to our next trip to Victoria, BC!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We have stayed at this vacation rental on many occasions and love the location. Even though we are so close to Victoria, this is country living. The home is very comfortable and I would love to stay there in the winter one time just so I can light the fire in that massive beautiful fireplace. What I appreciate about it is that it is very peaceful and quiet. This home is so well-maintained and the furnishings are lovely as well. Everything looks brand new. It is a pleasure to cook in the kitchen as it is clean, spacious and well organized. Lots of room upstairs-you could easily have three couples or a family of 5 or 6 staying there. I like the fact that I am very close to the main BC Ferry, airport and the local Brentwood Bay Ferry. We have used it as a stop-over on many of our trips to Dallas and it is very convenient for flights in and out of the country. The Brentwood Bay ferry gives us easy access to Mount Washington Ski Resort in Courtenay. There are two wonderful restuarants right at the dock and it is all a short walk back to 6975 Hagan Road. We have two choices on how to get into Victoria. My favorite is the country back road that is paved of course but you pass along lots of open fields and forest. There is a Red Barn Country market close by and they have a great selection of food including organic. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here. Ross and Karen Harmsworth are exceptional people and have looked after this beautiful home. Can't wait to head back there!Owner response: Thank you, Julie. It has been our pleasure to have you stay in our home and we appreciate your kind words. It is always our goal, that you would feel that this is your home away from home while visiting Victoria. Come back soon!

About the owner: Born and raised on Vancouver Island, we, Ross & Karen, enjoy leisurely walks in the park, scenic drives and watching/going to the movies. Our hobbies include renovating older homes and traveling. We love our Island home with the mountains and ocean nearby and the blessing of our grown children living in the area.
Why the Owner Chose Victoria:
30 years ago, we decided that we wanted to live on Vancouver Island but in a city. We chose Victoria because of it's size, year round climate, access to the mountains and ocean and the small size of the population. We have loved raising our family here and don't envision living anywhere else.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We chose this property because of the peaceful & relaxing pace of the neighborhood. It's rural but so close to the city. We could also see that with a little tender loving care, this home could be spectacular and we have enjoyed updating it and living in it for the last 4 years.
We are minutes away from theaters, shopping and the activities of Victoria. Just 4 hours drive from our favorite beach in Pacific Rim National Park, we often just hop in the car and go for a drive to put our toes in the surf & sands near Tofino in Pacific Rim National Park.
