Waterfront Home: Ideal Retreat for Families and Couples!
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Tucked away on a 2.5 acre point and 600ft of waterfront, you’ll find this beautiful private river home. Located on Blount’s Creek, a protected body of water that attracts fishermen, kayakers, skiers, jet skis and tubers (and, occasionally, a school of porpoises who find their way into our little “oasis”), this home captivates the heart and soul and provides the perfect setting for quiet retreat and 're-connect' or just plain good family fun.
Just twenty minutes from Historic Little Washington and less than an hour from Historic Bath, Oriental and New Bern, this lovely home, built in 2001, is just off the Pamlico River, with Washington and Bath a short boat ride away. The open floor plan combines living, dining, and kitchen areas into a large living space, which is flanked by outdoor decking with grill and picnic table, a covered porch and a spacious screened-in porch that opens into the living area and the master bedroom. Three bedrooms as well as a loft, with sitting and sleeping areas and a small outside balcony, provide guests with privacy and some solitude. The floor plan also includes a laundry area and three and a half baths. Every room boasts lovely river views. Ground level offers an exercise area with treadmill and stationary bike, outside shower and ample parking for boat and cars.
We are particularly proud of the home’s recycled heart pine floors, cypress timbers and juniper (white cedar) walls and vaulted ceiling in the living area. Together, they provide a unique warmth that is often missing in today’s coastal construction.
Conveniences include a fully functional modern kitchen, working stone fireplace, Dish Network Satellite System, DVD Player, High Speed Wireless Internet, and CD Stereo System with indoor and outdoor speakers.
All of the bedrooms are beautifully decorated, enjoy lovely views of the water and have ceiling fans. The Master includes a connecting bath, a queen bed, vaulted ceiling, a TV with satellite and sliding doors that open into the inviting screened-in porch. Additional bedrooms include: one with queen bed and one with queen bed plus twin trundle beds (with full bath in between); and a loft with double bed and queen futon (with adjoining full bath).
Relax as you enjoy your breakfast on the screened-in porch. Spend the afternoon reading on the sundeck or dock or napping in the Pawley’s Island hammock nestled at the water’s edge – a special retreat!
Your own private boat ramp and wet slip accommodate most boats up to 24’ and the surrounding waters yield many species; Flounder, Rock, Redfish and Trout are the most frequent dinner guests and Blue Crabs from the pier provide hours of fun and a delicious appetizer as well.

We are just married and our family came from several states (DE, PA and FL) to attend the wedding. We wanted everyone to be comfortable, have time together and not be in a motel room. This home was just perfect! Everyone was so comfortable. The home allows for gatherings in the great room, dining room, porch and deck. The rocking chairs on the porch were enjoyed by all. You also have complete privacy in the bedrooms. Our family had such fun cooking together in the custom kitchen. The pier could not be beat, they fished, kayaked and enjoyed the serenity from the bench. Bill and Brenda made everything so easy for us! They decorated the house with wedding bells, a wedding bow and beautiful white fresh flowers. We ate our first dinner here as husband and wife. It was simply devine. I am so glad I found this home. My family simply loved staying here and spending quality time together in such a beautiful location with superb accommodations.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We stayed at this cabin for 4 days in June 2012. The purpose of the trip was a strategic planning retreat for a small business, and the venue couldn't have been better. Once you turn down the small road to get to the cabin, the distractions of life start to fade away. The property has everything one needs to feel comfortable and content. The expansive living room with multiple floor to ceiling windows made three days of strategic planning comfortable and cozy (no cabin fever!). And, the well-appointed bedrooms allowed everyone in our group (7 of us) to leave well rested. What's more, the property occupies a peninsula in Blounts Creek, which provided morning, afternoon, and evening fun (kayaking, boating, water skiing, etc), in addition to a beautiful backdrop for our weekend. The owners obviously have talent in hospitality, decorating, and making their guests happy with their rental. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO REALLY BE COMFORTABLE, RELAX, RECHARGE YOUR BATTERIES, AND GAIN PERSPECTIVE, THIS IS IT!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

What a Place!!!! This is the only house we have ever stayed in that was better than it looked on the computer. The pictures do not do it justice. The scenery around Blounts Creek is beautiful. We had 3 or 4 dolphins come within 30' of the dock while we were relaxing on it one quiet afternoon. Bill took my son and I fishing and it was a day to remember. Bill and Brenda are very good hosts and we felt comfortable in their house from day 1. Read all of the reviews before ours because they are all very true. Bill and Brenda, Thanks again for everything.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

WOW!!! What a fabulous property to enjoy a vacation. When we arrived at this beautiful home we were greeted by the owners Bill & Brenda. They have to be one of the nicest, caring, down to earth, couple we have ever met. They went out of there way to make sure you had everything you needed to enjoy your stay. Bill took us on a wonderful boat trip around the creek and river. That was just the beginning. Brenda & Bill had fresh watermelon, cantalopes, peppers, peaches, potatoes, for us to enjoy. The smoked hot dogs were the best we have ever eaten & also the vanilla ice cream went sooo very well with the fresh peaches! Our weeks stay at the home was very relaxing & peaceful. In the 29 years of vacations my wife & I have taken this was the "VERY BEST" we have been on! The house was spotless, & you felt very comfortable. The screened in porch was great for enjoying your morning coffee & breakfast. The wrap around deck was nice to sit on in the afternoon and enjoy watching the birds & boats. The dock is a wonderful place to enjoy those maginficent sunsets & full moon with a bottle of wine! We reconnected with life & ourselves & will definitely be returning for another "GREAT" vacation in 2013 We are also very blessed to have met Bill & Brenda, such a wonderful couple & friends! Like we said "IT DON'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS" Thanks so very much Brenda & BillRecommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Three different families came together to celebrate our sons graduation from East Carolina over the weekend of May 3. The Blunts Creek property was perfect. After graduation and a quick drive to Washington for lunch, we were pleasantly surprised at the short drive to Blounts Creek. The house was beautiful, nicely decorated, and updated. There are literally views of the water from every room. There was also plenty of room for our entire group to spread out. The beds were extremely comfortable. I wish we had known about this property when our son was a freshman because we would have spent a lot of time here. I highly recommend this property for anybody who wants to spend time in the area and especially for those attending ECU functions. We hope to be back soon.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We were so glad to have you, Lynn. Now let's get number 2 in ECU playing football and we'll do this many more times. Give our best to all! Bill and Brenda

Eight of us stayed at Bill and Brenda's Blount's Creek house during the Cycle North Carolina event in nearby Washington. The house is magnificently designed and very comfortable for all 8 of us, with all the amenities we could ask for. Bill met us when we arrived to show us all the features, which was very helpful. The porches, desks and dock were wonderful for spending time outside, with 280 degree views of the creek and forests. There wasn't a thing I would change! I definitely recommend this place for its peacefulness, comfort and proximity to so many things to do.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We had a wonderful vacation at this property! The house was magnificent. Very clean and bright with windows in every room looking out onto the water. The interior had detailed features seen with excellent interior design. Bill and Brenda were very welcoming and helpful in setting up our stay. Bill even helped us obtain a 24 ft boat with a captain for 3 days. It was a fun and relaxing time for everyone in the family (7yrs-75yrs). We look forward to staying there again when we visit our family in Washington. Thank you Bill and Brenda!
