A beautiful and generously sized duplex maisonette with a large private south facing terrace in the heart of Fitzrovia ,Central London. The street is free of any traffic allowing our guests to enjoy a quiet relaxing stay in the middle of Central London!

Arranged over the second and top floors of a well maintained Victorian building in the heart of fashionable Fitzrovia, this beautiful two bedroom maisonette offers bright, modern interiors/whilst keeping its period charm and has a superb private roof terrace.

The property comprises reception room with ample dining space and contemporary open-plan kitchen, with divine corian worktops, two good-sized double bedrooms and bathroom suite with separate walk-in shower and separate bath with additional hand held shower.

The flat comes fully equipped to make your stay in Central London most enjoyable. No corners are cut on towels or linens/and there are plenty spare for those who don't wish to wash and dry on holiday. We're happy to arrange our cleaner to come in if this is requested.

The living room has a flat LCD TV and DVD player with a selection of DVD's to watch during your stay. There is also an additional TV at the foot of the bed in one of the bedrooms.A game console is also provided.

The flat was fully refurbished less than three years ago and features oak flooring, throughout, provencial stonework in the bathroom and integrated kitchen appliances.

Our lovely terrace has plenty of room for outdoor dining(London weather permitting...) and also has a barbecue. The terrace is such a wonderful place to relax after a day out in London.

The kitchen has all mod cons and also a selection of cookery books should you wish to experiment at home.

There's a selection of grocery shops within a five minute walk of the flat, Sainsbury's ,Marks and Spencer,Tesco will have all you need for during your stay. There's the independent Villandry on Great Portland St for the more special culinary treat...and also the simply fantastic La Fromagerie for cheese. This is one of the best cheese shops in London.

The bathroom has very good water pressure and constant hot water ,so there will be no worries for larger groups staying at the flat. The flat benefits from independent central heating for the somewhat cold British winters.

Both bedrooms have wardrobes with hanging space and suitcases can easily be put to the side of these.

Cleveland Street is home to a number of local shops, cafés and restaurants and is well positioned close to Charlotte Street and Oxford Street.

Fitzrovia is a neighbourhood in central London, near London's West End lying partly in the London Borough of Camden (in the east) and partly in the City of Westminster (in the west); and situated between Marylebone and Bloomsbury and north of Soho.
This historically bohemian area was once home to such writers as Virginia Woolf, George Bernard Shaw and Arthur Rimbaud, Bob Dylan played one of his first shows just down the road.

A few minutes away is Fitzroy Sq...a piece of Georgian design that has aged beautifully.A few more blocks away and one can view the architecture of Nash and his row of terrace houses near Regents Park.

For those traveling with young children a visit to Pollocks Toy Museum on nearby Whitfield St will be sure to delight them. The perfect place to pick up gifts for those back home! I have to admit even I go in there and I'm always in awe of the treasures of childhoods past that they have on display.Next door is their theatre print shop...again...well worth a visit. Whilst on the subject of theatre there's the Theatre Bookshop on Conway St with its numerous books on all theatre related matters.

The number of restaurants on nearby Charlotte St really is amazing. There is something for every taste bud! From 2 Michellin star Pied a Terre to simple noodles and pizza, this street is restaurant heaven! You'll also find the Fitzroy Tavern,a regular meeting place of several writers ,the most famous being Charles Dickens. The owners have done a great job at keeping the pub looking historical...with lovely black and white/prints of the area adorning its walls.

Guest will be within walking distance (5 min) to the numerous shops on Oxford St and and within a 10 minute walk to Covent Garden.

If it's shopping, art galleries, restaurants, museums or just a simple weekend break our flat in Fitzrovia will be an excellent choice for your stay in London.

This ideal London vacation rental would suit 2-6 people and we look forward to welcoming you to Fitzrovia! We're certain that you'll enjoy this flat!

This was an ideal location, and a wonderful apartment. We were there during an unusually cold week and sadly could not take advantage of all the charms it offered, but I can't imagine a better set up. The perfect blend of convienence and charm in a neighborhood we only wish we had more time to take advantage of (let's just say Kaffine, the Scandanvian Kitchen, and the fish and chip shop 1 door down are all musts). I will most certainly reccomend this property to friends and will check it's availability first when I return to London.

Just returned from a one week stay at this flat, our second time in London. We brought our kids (21 and 17). The location was excellent, a short walk from Great Portland Street tube. The Goodge station is a few blocks farther on the Northern tube line. Very quaint neighborhood, quiet and out of the way. Several pubs, restaurants and groceries very nearby. The flat was spacious with two bedrooms and a spacious living, dining and kitchen area. Athough it was quite chilly for our trip - the balcony was a nice touch to steo out for fresh air. The owners were efficient and informative for booking and Helen was awaiting our arrival for a fast check-in! A welcome relief after an 8 hour flight and 1 hour tube journey to arrive! We did alot while we were there including a midweek overnight trip via eurostar train to Paris (which was a delight in itself and something I highly recommend to everyone time permitting). All of the sights of London were easily accessible from this flat via a short walk to one of several tube stations. We all agreed it was a great flat and we recommend to all!

This place is perfect for someone looking to get to know the lay of the land. Within minutes from Warren street and Great Portland street tube stations, you are moments away from everything. It is well maintained and, although I stayed in the winter, the patio is brilliant. I would return in an instant and plan on making my January excursion an annual thing.

Owner response: Thank you for your comments. We also love the area. We hope you can stay in Fitzrovia on your next trip to London. We would be delighted to welcome you back to the flat. Best Charlene and James

My husband, sister, and I stayed at this property the week of Christmas. It was everything we needed. The location was perfect for all the things we wanted to see, and within walking distance. I think we only used the Tube a couple of times. We had several Tescos and Sainburys within several blocks which made it so easy to pick up snacks and drinks each day. The shower/tub were wonderful ... plenty of hot water with great pressure. And the towel warmer definitely spoiled us! Beds were comfortable -- plenty of linens and towels. There wasn't a regular coffee maker like Americans are used to ... but I use a French press anyway, so it wasn't a problem. Charlene was always very prompt and helpful with all of our questions and made the process so smooth. We had an early flight into London and Helen was there to meet us early and let us in straight away, which was wonderful to get settled so quickly after long travels. The stay was wonderful, and we'd definitely recommend the flat to those wanting a quiet, comfortable place to spend a central London trip. **Charlene ... you may want to get a floor mat for the terrace door ... on those wet days, it was hard to not bring the wet feet back onto the lovely kitchen floor. Thanks for a great London vacation! Trey and Amy Hand Charlotte, NC USA

Owner response: Thank you for your comments. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your time at the flat. A floor mat has now been purchased and a American style coffee maker...as it's better to have both a regular coffee maker and a French Press. Best Charlene

I booked my family of four into this lovely flat in Fitzrovia. We wanted to be able to walk to alot of places. The location is really good as it's only a few minutes to the West End and when we needed to take the tube,we had a choice of three stations within a few blocks of where we stayed. The area was quiet and we felt safe coming back in the evening. The flat itself is very large for London and we did enjoy the terrace although the weather wasn't great our entire stay. The children enjoyed selecting DVD's to watch from the vast choice and this was an added bonus for us.IIt was nice to have both a tub and seperate shower with good water pressureThe WI FI worked very well.We met one of the owners who was helpful about where to eat/shop etc. The guidebook was much appreciated and had great tips. We would highly recommend this flat.

A year ago I stayed at this address, in a seperately owned unit. I spend the month of November in London and really like this location as it is central to everything, in easy walking distance to most major London attractions and set in a wonderful neighborhood of great shops, restaurants and easy access to the Tube. While in the one bedrrom apt I had rented in 2011 I had a chance to take a quick look at the unit I am reviewing and was really impressed by the spaciousness of the unit, the terrace and the initial impression it left me with. I decided to invite a group of friends to join me for the month and rent the bigger apt. for 2012. The expereince of renting this apt. proved to be a disappointment. The basics of the unit are good: the beds are comfortable, the space is large, the layout is well designed, the unit has great potential. The problem is in the details. Very little in the apt works properly. When I got there on Thurs. the phone didn't work, no dial tone. When I notified the owners of this I also asked that they stop by to help me figure out why there were so many switches but so few that made anything work. James, one of the owners, came by on Monday to deal with the phone issue. After spinning around the apt for about a half hour telling me how expensive the things that didn't work had been, he left without fixing a single thing we had asked about. Unfortunately if it doesn't work it's worth nothing. By Wed. my friends had all arrived and in living in the unit we had come to realize that not only did the phone still not work properly, but neither did the wifi or the dvd player. We had also come to realize how poorly equiped the unit was for daily living and in many ways we felt like we were living in a college dorm room not a home. When I contacted James to tell him how many problems we were having and how we were beginning to feel taken advantage of, he promptly dropped off a new router, dvd player and set of tables, all of which we had to assemble and install. I recognize that in moving in for a month my needs are perhaps different than for guests just moving in for a weekend.. My guess is that the owners mean well, but rent this unit as is without difficulty and just aren't that concerned about maintaining the unit. If you just need a place to crash for a short stay in London, this may work well for you. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, well equiped home away from home this is probably not the best choice.

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

Owner response: Thank you for your comments about your stay in our flat in Fitzrovia. We're pleased you enjoyed the location and enjoyed using the terrace. The phone line, TV and Wi Fi is supplied by Virgin Media. We have their best package available. We simply can't control if there's a technical fault with the service in the entire area. This was the case with the phone line. James and myself aren't equipped to deal with outside phone lines. This needed the people from the company to come in. The problem with the TV was resolved with ease....as you simply didn't turn it on properly, despite instructions being given. The WI FI is very fast and the reason we dropped off a new router was your friends insisted this was done.We agree the DVD had issues so we thought it best to bring you a brand new one. James and myself did offer to set up everything for you but your friends wanted to do it,and not to interfere we left them to it. I have to to state that your friends weren't on our contract and we didn't make a huge fuss about this as it's often difficult for owners to tell how many people are actually staying in the flat and for how long. The flat was left in an utter tip after you and your group of friends left and we really feel you showed lack of respect towards the flat and based this on us not caring if things got damaged. This is very far from the truth. We really care about this flat and we do indeed mean well.We want all of out guests to enjoy their time there,if it's for one day or one month. We wish you the best for future travels. Best Charlene and James

My wife and I had a great stay at this flat on Cleveland street. On arrival we found the rooms and kitchen very clean and tidy, with all that was necessary for a real home from home holiday. The rooms are quite spacious and the terrace is a very useful benefit. As for the location? it could not have been better placed for us; If you like a decent pub then the George and Dragon, a few yards up the road, is a good place for a drink and a chat. No street noise at night which was a boon and plenty of decent restaurants just a short walk away. Would we stay here again? Absolutely! This place is well worth the five stars given. Oh! I feel that I must mention our greeter Helen. She was knowledgeable, pleasant and efficient; nothing was too much trouble for her and she knows the area well and indeed London in general. Thanks from Mr and Mrs Taylor.

I stayed here with my wife and our two sons during the Olympics. We had a great time! The boys slept in the room with two twin beds, and we slept in the master bedroom. There was plenty of space in the sitting room for additional guests if we had had any. The beds were very comfortable, and there were plenty of sheets and towels. Everything was nice and clean. I was impressed with how bright and sunny the flat was, with plenty of windows. The roof terrace was a lovely spot to sit and enjoy a coffee, with an amazing view of the Post Office Tower - or whatever it's called these days. There are many restaurants nearby. We ate at the Greek restaurant on the corner and at the Chinese restaurant, both were great - we took leftovers home. One evening we let the boys watch a movie on the DVD player - Incredible Hulk - while the adults sat outside on the terrace with a glass of wine enjoying conversation and the cool night air.

You simply can't beat the location for this apartment. I stayed here with a couple friends when we were visiting from America. There were two twin beds (which they slept in), and a bigger bed in a bedroom that overlooked Cleveland Street. The woman who let us into the apartment (I can't remember her name) was absolutely darling and was very flexible with us on timing for getting into the apartment, which we greatly appreciated. (We had a nightmare at customs, and we showed up much later than originally planned.) When we were there, it was unseasonably hot in London. There wasn't any air conditioning, so we had to keep the windows open at night, and it was a bit loud in the morning in the bedroom overlooking Cleveland Street because of traffic and shops opening for business. We also had trouble initially with the Internet, but the owners were great about responding to us right away and getting us up and running. They even offered to come to the apartment to sort it out if we couldn't get it working on our own. This property is also good because it's close to a grocery store, so we had dinner a couple nights when we were there in the apartment. Nice that we didn't have to carry our groceries far! (We ran out of toilet paper halfway through the week, so it was nice that there was a store close enough that I could pop out to get more!) Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in central London! The owners have a nice selection of DVDs, and we relaxed a few nights on the couch. Very cozy apartment!

About the owner: I was born in Canada and have spent the last 18 years living in London. I live in Covent Garden so I know the entire West End very well! I co-own one of London's last remaining independent music shops...and I also work part time in an Art Reference Library..just behind The National Gallery. I can recommend the best theatre and art exhibitions that are on in London. This flat is simply wonderful...located in an area full of so many delights that you'll want to come back and discover more!

          Why the Owner Chose Westminster:
I simply love Fitzrovia! It has so many things to offer and its location is fantastic! If I wasn't living in Covent Garden...Fitzrovia or Bloomsbury would be my second and third choices!

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
The terrace on a warm summer evening is divine...the prefect place to enjoy a glass of wine and light snack before venturing to see a musical or play.
