this beautiful cabin with us! We thoroughly enjoyed all the thoughtful details (efficient woodstove from Vermont, heated floors in the bathroom, pre-heated hot tub outside) and the creative way much of the cabin was pieced together. It's easy to see the love and effort you put into this place and we appreciate you sharing it with us! Thank you again - The Birdhouse is wonderful - we hope to return again soon!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

A place to relax and be free of everyday noise is surely a nest called the Birdhouse. As two love birds, we enjoyed our stay in your cabin immensely. We filled it with love and happiness and we hope it lingers for the next guest at the Birdhouse. Thank you for creating such a happy and peaceful home for your guests. We fully enjoyed every moment and hope to come back very soon!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

It's great. This place makes you feel at home immediately. They've furnished/decorated it very well and I absolutely loved the wood stove, the kitchen, and the hot tub. Fantastic place which we will be returning to.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

'You must get away before it's too late' Myself said to me 'Yes we must fly this coop to gain some perspective' So the dog beast and I made our way North, where the trees are many and people are few. We settled into a little birdhouse, just the right size. It had all the right ingredients to assist in the task of: Renewing my spirit ~ Quieting my mind from the cares of the world ~regaining focus on what's true and right ~counting my blessings ~ namely my kids and wife. The trails were many, but our time was short. We were drawn to the raging river ~ which reminded me of God - Beautiful and dangerous, awesome and mysterious all at the same time. Safe from a distance - to experience it's power you must draw close. But making our way back to the birdhouse was always the best part. Seeing the warm glow inside ~ we knew we had a safe place.* *Dog beast most likely was thinking about his next meal, and me... a good microbrew. The woodstove rocked! Additional information about rental rates
Although we do not charge a deposit up front, it is understood that any damages that are the fault of the renter will be paid for by the renter. These terms are clarified in our rental agreement.
We do allow dogs (only dogs, sorry cat owners) they are charged at a rate of $10/night/dog. We feel that this is an accurate additional fee that ends up in the cleaners' hands for the additional labor
We do have a three night rental minimum over holiday weekends (Canadian and US). Please click on "view calendar" below to check for availability, before contacting us.
Additional Fees and Taxes:
Our nightly rental rate is $160/night. There is a 10.5% Washington State Lodging Tax, which equals $16.80. Thus your grand total, per night, is $176.80. There is a $50 per stay cleaning fee.
This owner accepts: Credit cards.
Call the owner directly to confirm reservation details and pay with an approved method (credit card, check, or bank transfer), to protect your payment up to $1,000.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: My wife and I live in Bellingham, she is a licensed Massage Therapist, beautiful skier and avid outdoor enthusiast. I am an Alaskan commercial fisher, skier, and enjoy the indoors more so than she. The cabin, for us, is a way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city life (such as Bellingham may be). When we come to Glacier, it is the silence that enthralls us. No traffic, no sirens, no trains, just the wind in the trees, and the gurgle of the creek!
Why the Owner Chose Mount Baker:
The Birdhouse is so ideally situated. Of course Mt. Baker Ski Area is a huge draw for us, but we also love the summers, chalk full of Blueberries, wild flowers, chantrelle mushrooms, awe-inspiring views, the warm winds on cool days and the cool shade in the trees on hot days!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
For larger parties, or better separation, we also rent THE JIM JACK SHACK www.vrbo.com/461023. Located behind the Mt. Baker Birdhouse and up the hill, The Jim Jack Shack is our newest creation. Totally different, equally as cool.
