Our home is located in an ideal setting for year around outdoor recreation or simply relaxing and enjoying the Sierras.
Northstar is centrally located, filled with amenities itself, but near to so many other options. It is nine miles from the North shore of Lake Tahoe and less than a mile to the Northstar village, ski area, tennis and swim club and golf course. It is well maintained, very clean and a delightfully restful and comfortable place to stay.
The downstairs consists of the living room with a large fireplace, dining area, well equipped kitchen, a bedroom with a queen bed and a bathroom. The upstairs holds the master bedroom with queen bed, private deck and vanity, a bedroom with twin beds and a bathroom. There is a one car garage and a good sized entryway. The house is decorated with a combination of oak antiques, comfortable furniture and down comforters on the beds. There is cable and wireless internet and plenty of hot water.
With the rental, there is access to the recreation center, ($2 per person/day fee) that is home to a workout room, an Olympic-sized pool, lap pool, children's pool, three spas, game room, tennis and basketball courts.
NorthStar is also home to an 18-hole golf course, miles of hiking and mountain biking. All activities are fully accessible via the shuttle transportation which will pick you up at the home.

We enjoyed a weeklong stay at this house in July this year. The house is spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed for a simple and restful stay. Gracious owner lives nearby and was very helpful and accommodating. A full bedroom and bath downstairs made it easy to divide our multigenerational family and not get in each other's way. We especially enjoyed Northstar, such a beautiful setting, with its pool and tennis at the recreation center. We'll definitely be back to this one!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+.

Our family had a wonderful four days and nights there! The owner was nice to work with and responded very quickly to emails. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking. The place is very clean as well. On our last day, my son and husband enjoyed the hike which starts a block down the road... It's a nice perk to be able to hike right off the property! Thank you Gretchen for everything!Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

This North Star treasure is really the best place to stay in the winter or the summer. I have had the great good fortune to enjoy the spacious rooms and all of its comforts in the snow and the sun. I have fond memories of coming back from skiing and sitting by the warm fire and relishing the sweet smell of cookies baking in the oven. It is so inviting to the curl up with a book and cup of hot coco in this wonderful house. Everything is well cared for. When you wake up it is so mellow to go start up the pot of coffee and see the natural beauty of Tahoe all around with the birds chirping and the deer looking at you through the windows. Everything is there and ready for you. It is so close to North Star village and the slopes. In summer, the pool and tennis courts are easy to get to. The house has great deck to relax and hang in the sun in the afternoons. I would highly recommend this wonderful cottage to a family or a couple for a lovely weekend anytime of year.This is my favorite place to stay at NorthStar.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

Our family has stayed at this home several times for winter and summer vacations. It is very well appointed with a full kitchen, fine linens, and very charming. If you have been to Austria you may recognize the feel of well built European-Austrian home. The house is set on a very quiet street in a nice neighborhood in Northstar at Tahoe. The house has a very nice view outside the living room of the trees and snow (winter). The bedrooms are good size for quiet escapes for reading or naps if that is needed. There is a free shuttle that will take you to the village until late in the evening. Northstar is a wonderful place to ski for families and people of all ages. They have all levels of terrain and very good lessons and kids programs. I personally give this home an excellent recommendation to anyone who wants to experience Tahoe at it's best! The description is very accurate on the listing, but the rooms actually are BIGGER than they appear in the pictures! The property is extremely well maintained and perfectly clean. The owners are very nice people and really love their home and take care of it. I would recommend this property to relatives and friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

Home is well maintained with all conveniences of a home away from home. Space in home is very functional. I have many fond memories of time spent with family cooking yummy meals, playing games, skiing in the winter, hiking, biking swimming in the summer. Kids and adults have endless options for activities. Home is conveniently located between Kings Beach and Truckee. Wonderful place for vacation.
