Cityscape is a brand-new luxury penthouse located in the heart of Downtown. This premiere retreat is located one block from State Street; just steps from the exciting variety of restaurants, shops, and galleries that exemplify the charm and appeal of Santa Barbara.
This cosmopolitan escape is located on the top floor of a corner building. It boasts an expansive private wrap-around rooftop terrace. This terrace overlooks two classic Santa Barbara landmarks; the Arlington Theatre and The Granada Theatre.
As the secure elevator opens to your fourth-floor penthouse, you are treated to a panoramic view of the red-tile rooftops of historic downtown Santa Barbara. The stunning urban view is framed by the Santa Ynez mountains to the North and coastal skyline views to the South. During your initial tour, It is readily apparent that this special home was thoughtfully designed with green-building standards in mind.
The main living area is a welcoming Great Room with a large leather sectional sofa and matching ottomans. This comfortable area is perfect for entertaining business associates, or just relaxing with friends during a long weekend getaway. A flat-screen TV is housed in a unique illuminated cabinet, while the lofty feeling of the room is emphasized by the whitewashed open beam ceilings. The well-equipped kitchen opens to a cozy dining area with a round marble table that comfortably seats four. All chefs will enjoy the weekly nearby Farmer's Markets (Tuesdays and Saturdays) where visitors can purchase local produce and other fresh delicacies.
The two generous bedrooms feature French doors to the Terrace, along with scenic views. Each room is equipped with a flat screen TV and a quality sound system with Ipod dock.
The Master Suite includes a full bath with a combination shower and bathtub. For additional privacy, this area of the home may be closed-off with a door of frosted glass. The second bedroom is appointed with a king sized bed, and is served by a full bath across the hall.
Without a doubt, the private roof top Terrace, with its comfortable patio furniture, sets the relaxed mood of this penthouse home. High above the city streets below, it becomes a hideaway for private entertaining or, if you prefer, for observing the activities below as people go about enjoying the city. Fourth Floor Penthouse one block from State Street - The best ever. We rented Cityscape penthouse for 8 days and would highly recommend the two bedroom apartment to friends and family. It has been recently completely renovated and is in outstanding condition. King beds were outstanding. Really enjoyed the wrap-around balcony and overstuffed outdoor furniture watching the stars with a glass of wine. Because there are no bugs, we did not use the air conditioner and had the double french doors in both bedrooms and living room open all the time to the private balcony. There seems to be a constant breeze and a blanket was needed in the early morning in July. The dining service was for 12 but the wine glasses were for 20... Only negative was a minor one in that you needed three keys to get to the private floor, one for the front gate, one for the elevator 4th floor, and one for the apartment. The outdoor balcony gas grill was used for a friends and family get-together and worked well. We had a plumbing leak with the kitchen sink and when we called the apartment manager he was there and had it fixed in five minutes. We went on the "Segway Tour" (was not sure about it at first) but it turned out to be a highlight- we saw so much more than if we were walking or in a car. (Transcribed from the Guestbook at the home) My girlfriend and I stayed at Cityscape for a full week and the only bad thing we can say about our stay is it went by too fast. Cityscape is in the heart of Santa Barbara one block off of State Street which is the "main street" of Santa Barbara. The best thing about this place is the location. We parked our car for pretty much the entire week and were able to walk everywhere. We drove to Solvang for a day and took a drive to some of the surrounding beaches, but asides from that enjoyed the ability to walk to everything, even the zoo. The interior of Cityscape is top notch. the bedding, the kitchen, and the shower were incredible. We had to call Paradise Retreats on the day of our check-in because the I-pod docks in the bedrooms were not working and Robert brought us two brand new ones before we finished unpacking. This was not a big deal to us but the response received was impressive. The patio of Cityscape is what sold me on the reservation and it did not dissapoint. Comfortable furniture, a gas bbq, and a table and umbrella to enjoy your meals cooked at home for the week.
