We had the pleasure of staying at this apartment for 10 nights in March of this year. The apartment is very conveniently located, close to stores (groceries, shopping center, fast food, bank, etc.) and restaurants and felt safe because it is in a gated community. The apartment has everything you need, two nice bedrooms and bathrooms and an adequate living room with a table for four and a huge comfy sofa. The kitchen is rather tight (2 people in there and it's full) and has no dishwasher but is otherwise well equipped. When we got there the ocean was very rough and the waves actually splashed on the balcony, so we couldn't use it at first. All rooms have amazing ocean views and make you feel like you're on a boat rather than in a normal apartment. We had to pay usd 2.50 per cycle of laundry / drying which we thought was a bit much, especially since you couldn't use normal quarters but had to buy tokens from the office located in the building (check operating hours). The onsite caretaker was very helpful and friendly and the owner was more than happy to answer any of our questions beforehand. Overall we were very happy to have chosen this apartment and would come back in the future. We miss waking up and falling asleep to the sound of the waves...Did you find this review helpful? We had a wonderful time, and the property manager was fantastic. Gorgeous ocean views and breezes. The location is great - not too close to the resorts and downtown, but close enough to get to them easily. Our favorite meals were at Twin Brothers at the Fish Fry, Thai Lotus, and at the Poop Deck, which is right outside the property gate. We also LOVED the Swiss Pastry Shop. Everyone we met we truly nice and helpful. We had a great snorkling experience at Stuart Cove's, and Love Beach is amazing. We rented a car and used it every day - driving on the left is a little exciting at first, but you get used to it quickly. Some things to note - the beds are EXTREMELY firm and while there is a laundry facility in the basement, it costs about $7.50/load. I would do it all again.Did you find this review helpful? The ocean breezes and sounds in this lovely, well-positioned apartment could make you never want to leave! The outdoor deck, living room and master bedroom are especially nice. We also loved the complex’s ocean-side pool with deck chairs. The owner is easy to work with and her friendly, efficient, on-site caretaker helped us immediately feel right at home! Rent a car; you’ll have more fun. Favorite places/activities in Nassau: The outdoor bar at Compass Point Beach Resort (a 5 minute drive west) and Dolphin Encounters trip to Blue Lagoon Island for up-close and scrumptiously personal experiences with sea lions and dolphins.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: Owner is a permanent resident of The Bahamas having lived there for over 20 years. Alternates traveling between UK and The Bahamas and is British having grown up and lived in the Hampshire area of southern England; currently living south of Edinburgh in Scotland. Married with two children and three grandchildren.
Why the Owner Chose Nassau:
Having lived among the Bahamian people for many years, my husband and I wanted the option of returning to visit our numerous friends in the area; also to have the option of escaping the rigors of a UK winter as opportunity permits. In opening our home to others, it is hoped they will be able to experience not only the exceptional warm and sunny climate but also the warmth and friendliness of the Bahamian people.
