  Want to thank the staff, Margarito, his wife Paula, and Iris, who made our stay memorable. The house was so comfortable, with amazing views, and offered the tranquility we all needed for the holidays. Traveling to other beach areas, as well as El Valle was too easy, as well getting needed supplies in nearby Coronado. New Year's Eve on the beach with bonfires, fireworks, and excellent Prosecco....couldn't get any better! Too bad building will be going on during the coming year....with any luck, it'll be done by the time we hope to return - Xmas of '14! Thanks so much.

  We stayed at Casa Gordo in November 2012 for two weeks for our Father's 80th birthday celebration. The house is accommodating for 8-10 people, we had twelve and the sleeping arrangements were tight. The house and the grounds are beautiful, chickens walking on the grounds and visits from the local wildlife. A short walk down the road to the beach, to the ocean, perfect for boogie boarding. The pool is nice and was maintained daily by Marieto. We had our dinners BBQ by Marieto on his unique, spotless grill, BBQ to perfection. Mucho gracious Marieto. Some things need to be upgraded...pool area surface and chairs but overall a very nice place to stay.

  We recently stayed at this property for the SECOND time and once again had a fabulous experience. The property was clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The pool is well-maintained and one could find themselves relaxing inside of it for hours ;) We had an excellent experience here and of course can't wait to get back again! Thank you!!!!

  My family, along with two other families, rented this property for a long weekend. There was more than enough room to accommodate the 6 adults and two infants. I cannot say enough about the the house and it's amenities (which included every kitchen appliance you could imagine, stereo equipment, and tons of CDs and DVDs for use). The staff was very attentive and went out of their way to ensure that our needs were met, including prepping the grill area and cleaning our dishes after each meal. In addition to the beautiful home and fantastic pool, we were able to walk to the beach within minutes. We loved this property and have already made plans to return in September.

  We have just returned from spending a delightful month at Casa del Gordo. The villa is very private and the interior and exterior of the villa was exactly as pictured on the VRBO website. This is a large villa that easy accommodated our party of six adults. Private bedroom/baths were well appointed with plenty of towels. Towels were also in good suppy around the pool area. Some equipment in the kitchen was in need of maintainence. The loungers around the pool area were in need of some repair but other than that the furnishing in the outside areas worked really well with plenty of seating and lounging space including at least four hammocks. The large outdoor dining table was the perfect spot to enjoy our evening meal, the racho also served as an alternative dining area during our Super Bowl Party because of the big screen TV. The men in our group enjoyed the challenge of the charcoal BBQ. The starlit sky and gentle breezes provided the perfect backdrop for after dinner dancing or card games. The property was well maintained both inside and out although there were some minor staffing issues during our stay. The gardener unfortunately broke his ankle and it was necessary to get a replacement. The manager of the villa was very helpful and was in direct contact with the owner so was able to respond to any and all concerns about the villa. She also was helpful with other aspects of our vacation suggesting activities, restaurants and shopping options. The beach was perfect for those of us interested in long walks and it provided an opportunity to connect with many locals who came on weekends and during Carnival. The description regarding the location was somewhat misleading in the villa listing. One had to manuver over a typical Panamian side road for 8-12 minutes before being 5 miuntes from shops and restaurants. We would recommend you have a vehicle rental during your stay. We had a car for only 1 week and relied on taxis for going to town and grocery shopping the rest of the time which was slightly inconvenient. We used the public bus system for a day trip and also to return to Panama City at the end of our stay at Casa Gordo, this form of transportation proved to be satisfactory with very reasonable rates. If you are looking for perfect weather, comfortable accommodations in pleasant surroundings for a relaxing holiday we would recommend Casa del Gordo.

  We traveled to Panama with our teenage children and no one wanted to return home when our vacation was over.I can't say enough about this property! Casa Gordo, which should be called "Casa Grande", is a HUGE beach villa with tons of room to relax and enjoy the Panama weather. It could not have been more perfect. The house is beautifully decorated, clean and well maintained and the location was so quiet and peaceful. Our favorite part of the house is the outdoor living area with room for us all. The outdoor dining table had room for 12! We spent our days going between the beautiful pool and the beach! It's so amazing to walk on the beach and not see anyone else. Priceless! From Punta Barco, we traveled to local sights, restaurants, beaches, etc. It was also so nice to have 3 major grocery stores and restaurants within a 10 minute drive. The owner was so helpful before and during our trip answering questions about sights to visit, side trips to take and restaurants to visit. She also organized day trips to the Panama Canal, local Indian villages, etc. I would highly recommend this property to friends and relatives. In fact, we are returning in November 2012 for a family reunion.
