Sand Hills Beach is directly across street or a 0.3 mile walk to the life guarded, sandier section of the beach. Other nearby beaches include: Peggotty Beach (2.2 miles), Egypt beach (1.4 miles) and Minot beach (3.5 miles). Parking for all of the beaches requires a beach sticker and I have not found a way to provide that to guests however there is parking nearby each of the beaches but you need to be careful in selecting it. An easy way to approach Peggotty beach is to park in the Cole Parkway parking lot in the Harbor and walk 8/10 of a mile to the beach.
The mostly pebble and cobblestone beach directly across street provides cooling refreshment during the day and pleasing sound of surf at night. "Cobblestone beaches are one of the most delightful aspects of a shoreline, providing pleasure to ears, eyes, and sense of touch. A visitor to a cobble beach will hear the special music of stones rattling and rolling in the surf, or may sit upon the beach for hours, sorting through the smooth, colorful stones, looking for perfect spheres and making piles of special stones. Those who toss cobbles across the beach will find that the stones bounce incredibly high, and continue bouncing for a long time with a satisfying patter. “Cobble” is a geological term describing a rounded stone between the size of an apple and a basketball. Some of the cobbles are derived from adjacent bedrock, but the majority are reworked from glacial deposits. Each beach presents a unique collage of rock types, a blend of local rock types and glacial erratic. The largest cobbles are cast high up by storm waves into a great wall, which spills landward after each storm. Cobble beaches are located on the exposed shores of outer islands and peninsulas where wave action is greatest" (Tammis Coffin, Acadia's Cobblestone Treasury).

Scituate, MA, is an appealing, attractive South Shore seaside community that looks every bit as nice as many of the quaint Cape Cod communities farther down the coastline in Massachusetts.
Scituate doesn't bill itself as a resort or vacation community, so there are few lodging choices. Scituate is primarily a highly desirable suburb of Boston. The town center is lined with independently-owned specialty shops with the harbor peaking behind the commercial district. Recreational opportunities abound here including swimming, boating and fishing. Scituate Lighthouse provides a rocky, scenic setting making it one of Massachusetts' more appealing lighthouses. The harbor is pure New England with a relaxing, picturesque view that ranks up there as one of the best scenic views in the region.
