  I was somewhat unsure of what to expect when I booked this home for our annual trip, when we arrived it was clear I had made a good choice. The home itself is in tremendous shape, and laid out perfectly. It has everything you need to enjoy Palm Springs (at least the way we do). The most striking part is where the home is located, and how it is situated. Views from the front are great, and overlook the whole valley. The view from the pool/backyard is incredible. Everything about our stay was pretty effortless, and Barbara the property owner was great and easy to deal with. If you are looking to truly get away this is a fantastic place to do it.

  We couldn't recommend this property more adamantly. Not only is it just as beautiful as the photos (if not more so), the owners were extremely responsive and helpful throughout the process. When we arrived, our jaws literally dropped in excitement as we took in the gorgeous mountain vista and the home itself, which looked like a feature in a magazine. The property was flawlessly maintained, incredibly clean, and the amenities were abundant and thoroughly explained. We loved making brunch in the beautiful kitchen and enjoying mimosas by the pool. The casita is a perfect addition to the property - the lucky couple that gets that room will certainly feel like they are tucked away in a private and exclusive resort. Anybody looking for the perfect Palm Springs getaway should jump on reserving this property. It's centrally located (right near the Ace Hotel, a personal favorite of ours), yet feels like it is a private and secluded desert oasis. The people who selected, decorated, and maintain this home have flawless taste -- take advantage of their incredible property and you will be no less than extremely impressed, and most importantly, completely blissed out. We cannot wait to have the opportunity to return.

  My wife and I recently returned from a stay at this fabulous property. The home is located in a very quiet, upscale neighbourhood. The home is laid out perfect for 2 or 3 couples or a large family. The seperate Casita in the backyard is like having another home on the property with total privacy. There are many patios around the home so you can chase the sun the entire day. The main patio is a great place to relax with friends for a drink and appies. The view from this patio is stunning, so much so that we sat there for 4 hours on the rockers and just enjoyed the sun. Great way to de-stress and unwind. The backyard is located directly on the mountain for total privacy and is perfect for windfree days lounging by the large pool and hot tub. The home is walking distance to many restaurants at the south end of Palm Canyon Drive. We walked over to El Mirasol (excellent Mexican food) for lunch one day. Try the house Margarita. It's also only a very short drive to downtown Palm Springs and all it has to offer. If you're a golfer, two great courses at Indian Canyon are only a 5 minute drive away. Barbara was great to deal with and quickly answered any questions we had. There was also a beautiful fruit basket waiting for us on arrival. Very nice touch! If you are looking for a stunning home in a great area of Palm Springs, look no further, this is the place.

  What can we say that hasn’t been said in all the other fantastic reviews? After looking at numerous inns and hotels in Palm Springs to enjoy our honeymoon, we decided renting a house would be a better option; not only was this house a better option, it was the BEST option. The pictures don’t do this house justice. Sure, you can see the fantastic furnishings and sleek architecture of the house and wonderful landscaping of pool area, but there is a certain ambience this house exudes. It is great to be so close to downtown yet even closer to the natural, peaceful beauty of the desert in the backyard. Add to that the incredible view across the valley to the mountains, this location is true paradise. Whether it was the lazy days in the pool or the nights sipping adult beverages in the backyard, we had a wonderful honeymoon. We’re already planning a trip back for our anniversary! Thank you Barbara for allowing us to share your beautiful home.

  I have never rented a property for vacation, instead I've always stayed at a hotel or my parents' time share; however, I ventured out of comfort zone and had the best vacation ever!!! I was celebrating my birthday with close friends and the owner is very nice, a great communicator and not one time during our stay did we not have what we needed. Extremely accommodating!!! I highly recommend this property as a vacation destination!!! When we arrived there was fresh fruit, the manual provides any questions and if you still need further instruction, the owner responds in a timely manner. The home is exquisite, again extremely accommodating!!! I can't wait until our next stay at the Modern Hillside Retreat :)

  We (family with 2 kids) stayed in the house for one week. We never had such a nice vacation home before. Everything fits together nicely - the exterior and interior. This house is perfectly equipped - better than a hotel apartment. You don't have to bring your own shampoo nor sewing supplies. You will find everything for your convenience. The kitchen is a dream and the pool too. You have absolute privacy - there is only a chance to get a visit from a rabbit. So you can enjoy your vacation from the first to the last minute. We will definitely come back again.

  We booked the house months before our visit, so I spent quite a bit of time looking over the property photos, building up that ideal image in my mind that every traveler does of their vacation accommodations. An ideal image that rarely holds true. Well, this home is the exception to the rule: it was better than the ideal. The location is secluded without being distant. The house is spare in a way that is immediately calming and restful. The desert is gorgeous in the summer, and the expansive windows let you enjoy the view from every room. Out back, you have a private oasis that perfectly contrasts the stoic beauty of the mountainside with a refreshing dip in the pool. The house is about 8 feet above street level, so the view from the rockers on the front patio is perfect for the reflected sunset on the mountains across the Valley. Every evening, we sat there with a frosty drink and watched as the crickets emerged, then the birds, then the bats, and finally the stars. If it seems like I'm gushing, it's because it was that great. While we had a lovely time at the nearby Museum of Art and some self-guided architecture tours, we always felt drawn back to the house. It's a great place to just...be. Seriously, we thought about dressing up in sheets and chains and pretending to be ghosts to scare off any other renters. If you're looking for a real escape, in the way that so many hotels/resorts/spas pretend to be, stay here.

  We loved staying here! It was so much more than we expected. The location is private and peaceful, very clean, nicely designed, organized and Everything you need is here. We planned to go on some adventures but ended up staying at the house almost the entire time because it was so perfect. The pool area is fantastic and all around you is your own private desert oasis with many different kinds of birds to watch and oh so quiet. Night time is lit by the moon. Lots of CDs to play and listen to music and just relax, and that's just what we were hoping to do and just what we did. Barbara was an absolute darling and we'll definitely be coming back again.

  The house was just fabulous! This was a girls getaway and we didn't want to do anything else in Palm Springs, just wanted to stay at the house, swim in the great pool, lay in the sun and relax. My son and his girlfriend live in Palm Springs and they didn't want to go back to their tiny apt in the evenings. The house was very clean, and just felt very homey. A lot of attention to detail has went into making the quest feel welcome and their stay enjoyable. I come to Palm Springs every few months and I hope to enjoy this property again in the near future.

  Fantastic! That's my one word review of our latest trip to Palm Springs. The "modern hillside retreat" home was just perfect. Spacious and airy it backs up to the mountains in such a way that it offers both privacy and fabulous vistas and desert scenery all at the same time! Extremely well outfitted, the house has everything that you will need to make your stay comfortable, a modern updated kitchen, (as people who love to cook this was key!, the only thing that was lacking was a non-stick frying pan but with this setting whose complaining!), front load washer and dryer, tv's and stereos(loved the music selections!), towels and sheets galore, even extra tp!!!!!! Just delightful. The pool and spa were great, (could be a little warmer on the default settings) very clean and tidy. Outdoor spaces were terrific the exterior furniture is simple but comfortable and nice, there is plenty of it as well, something many of the homes we have stayed in lacked!. BBQ is natural gas and in great shape! Bedrooms in the house are huge and the bathrooms are large, updated and clean with a capital C! The casita is a home unto itself, (well, no kitchen) and a great space with a delightful bathroom very nicely done! All the beds were very comfortable with extra pillows and blankets if so desired. Great privacy in each of the bedrooms as they are seperated by decent distances, not so far that my 7yr old was scared but far enough so that we didn't have to worry about keeping her awake with our conversation or activity. Love the location, we usually stay in old Palm Springs near the Tennis Club but this area near Indian Canyons is another favorite. It is a little too far to walk to downtown but the privacy is sublime and the drive is very very short, (less than 5mins.) Felt very safe here, the driveway gate is a nice touch, makes you feel very safe (and keeps the papparazzi at bay! ;-)). All in all this is probably the most complete place that we have stayed in P.S. and gets my highest rating! I would give it a solid 9 out of 10 and it is certainly as nice as anywhere we have rented in our travels. We have rented probably 8 homes in the P.S. area and this would be my first choice to return to! Thanks to the owners who were quick to respond and gave all needed info in a timely and professional manner, very well executed, just a great experience! John Winans

We're thrilled to be at the top of your long list of Palm Springs stays :-) Re: non-stick pans- we stopped using them when we learned that they are possibly toxic and should use only stainless steel surfaces. We do miss the old school ease of use! We will consider picking one up for guests who want the option. We'll also look at the spa setting to be sure it's toasty.
